    Improving Teachers’ Self-Efficacy through Training: An Impact for the Freedom of Students’ Mathematical Thinking

    Teacher self-efficacy is an important component of teacher competence. At present, efforts to improve teacher competencies have not been carried out simultaneously for teacher activities in the classroom (open class) and outside the classroom (training). This quasi-experimental study aimed to examine the effectiveness of soft skills training and the practice of lesson study on improving mathematics teacher self-efficacy and describe the impact of teacher self-efficacy on the freedom of students' mathematical thinking. The study involved three mathematics teachers and 90 students from three different junior high school regions in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia (city center, semi-urban, and suburban). Data was collected through questionnaire, observation, and interview. The data were then analyzed descriptively. The effectiveness of soft skills training and the practice of lesson study on improving mathematics teachers’ self-efficacy was examined using Wilcoxon Test. The results showed the differences in the average teachers’ self-efficacy before and after participating in soft skills training and the practice of lesson study (with an increase of 0.82/high). The increase in teachers’ self-efficacy also positively affected the freedom of students’ mathematical thinking

    Pandemi covid-19 yang melanda pendidikan di Indonesia tidak dapat diputuskan untuk tidak melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran. Pembelajaran jarak jauh merupakan solusi melaksanakan proses pembelajaran demi mencapi tujuan pendidikan terkhusus kemampuan berpikir logis yang mempunyai peran penting dalam memecahan masalah terkhusus pada materi Geometri Ruang. Proses berpikir peserta didik sangat perlu dipertahankan seama proses pembelajaran jark jauh dengan kondisi dan kendala yang dihadapi selama pembelajaran. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir logis peserta didik SMA dalam memecahkan masalah matematika pada materi geometri ruang dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh di tengah pandemi covis-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek yang digunakan adalah peserta didik kelas X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Kota Bumi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 3 peserta didik dengan kemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kemampuan berpikir logis matematika yang berjumlah 3 soal, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, subjek kemampuan tinggi memiliki kemampuan berpikir logis yaitu pada tahap klasifikasi, tahap menghubungkan, tahap menghitung dan tahap menarik kesimpulan. Subjek kemampuan sedang memiliki kemampuan berpikir logis yaitu pada tahap klasifikasi, tahap menghubungkan dan tahap menghitung.     The Development of Problem Solving To Improve Understand Mathematical Concepts

    This study aims to 1) develop a problem solving learning model that is oriented towards the ability to understand mathematical concepts, 2) test the feasibility of a model developed on algebraic function derived material, and 3) test the effectiveness of the product of development. This study refers to the Research and Development procedure of Borg and Gall which is simplified into six stages and the resulting product is refined with ASSURE learning design theory. Data were analyzed with qualitative descriptive methods and cognitive learning outcomes with normalized N-gain to determine the effectiveness of the model, Independent t-test to determine differences in learning outcomes. The results were obtained through tests of mathematical concept understanding ability. The results showed that 1) the development of the learning model was carried out with due regard to the components of the model, 2) the results of the development of the learning model were feasible to be applied to the material derived from algebraic functions, 3) the developed learning model was able to improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The results of the study can be concluded that the problem solving learning model oriented on the ability to understand mathematical concepts is more effective than conventional learning models

    Developing PBL To Improve Mathematical Problem Solving And Self Efficacy

    This study is a research development (R&D) that aims to find out developing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities and valid, practical and effective student self-efficacy. The procedure of this research uses research development by Borg & gall, Research and Information Collecting, Planning, Developing Preliminary of Products, Preliminary Testing ,Main Product Revision, Main Field Test, Operational Product Revision, Operational Field Testing, Final Product Revision, Dissemination and Implementation, but in this study it was carried out only to the sixth stage. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The design is validated by the learning model design expert, while the learning device is validated by the material expert, media expert and education practitioner. Furthermore the design was revised according to expert opinion. It was concluded that the ability to solve mathematical problems and self efficacy with problem based learning is more effective than the ability to solve mathematical problems with conventional learning

    This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of Alqurun Teaching Model in terms of studentsconceptual understanding of mathematics. This research used one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Metro in academic year of 2016/2017. Through purposive sampling technique, one class was taken as the sample that was VIII F class. Instrument used in this research was test. Analysis data of this research used t paired-test. Based on the result of research, it was concluded that Alqurun Teaching Model was not effective in terms of studentsconceptual understanding of mathematics. However, understanding mathematical concepts of students after following Alqurun Teaching Model was better than before following Alqurun Teaching Model.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Alqurun Teaching Model ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Metro tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Melalui teknik purposive sampling 1 kelas diambil sebagai sampel yaitu kelas VIII F. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji t berpasangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa Alqurun Teaching Model tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Namun, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa setelah mengikuti Alqurun Teaching Model lebih baik daripada sebelum mengikuti Alqurun Teaching Model.Kata kunci: Alqurun Teaching Model, Efektivitas, Pemahaman Konsep Matemati

    Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa menggunakan pembelajaran soft skills komunikasi dengan pembelajaran biasa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMK yang berkemampuan sedang yang berada di lampng tengah, sedangkan sampelnya dipilih kelas XI yang berjumlah 50 orang dari satu SMK di lampung tengah yang   berkemampuan sedang. Instrumen pada penelitian ini berupa tes berbentuk soal uraian untuk tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Instrumen yang digunakan sudah memenuhi soal yang baik berdasarkan validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda dan indeks kesukaran. Berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan SPSS 20 didapat hasil sebagai berikut pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pembelajaran soft skill komunikasi lebih baik dibandingkan pembelajaran bias

    Efektivitas Pembelajaran Kooperatif Think Talk Write Ditinjau dari Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Siswa

    This quasi-experimental research aim­ed to find out the effectiveness of TTW learning on student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. The population in this research was all students of 7th grade at SMPN 10 Bandarlampung in academic year 2018/2019, which consist of 351 students that distributed into eleven classes. The sample in this research were the students of VII D which consist of 32 students and VII E which consist of 32 students who were selected based on cluster random sampling technique. This research used the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained by the essay test of mathematical conceptual understanding on topic of comparison. t-test and proportion test was used to analyze the data with . Based on the results of the research and discussion, it was concluded that cooperative learning type TTW was not effective in terms of student’s mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TTW ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.     PENGARUH MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA

    This research aimed to find out the influence of problem based learning model towards students representative mathematical ability. This research design was pretestposttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade eight of Junior High School 1 Gisting in academic year of 2015/2016 which were distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII 1 and VIII 2 class who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The data of this research were obtained by representative mathematical ability test and it was analyzed by Wilcoxon Rank-Sum test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was concluded that problem based learning model did not influence towards students representative mathematical ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretestposttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gisting tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang terdistribusi dalam tujuh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII 1 dan VIII 2yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Rank-Sum.
