Object Information Packs as a Base for Information Modelling in Construction

The construction industry is suffering form the existence of isolated islands of software applications and bottle neck solutions. The idea of an integrated virtual database that consists of separated platforms, representing various disciplines, depending on the web technology is envisaged to solve the problem of integration. This paper is about the production and use of OIPs (Object Information Packs) as a part of the construction material product in the form of XML files that include all the technical and commercial data of the product, which might be needed by any discipline in its overall life cycle. This object information pack is neutral and independent of any software application. It is assumed to fit in a building product model at the IFC (resource layer). An example of brick - wall aggregation process is used to demonstrate the capability of the technology and the ability of non computer science experts to use it

Standardisierung der Kommunikation als Integrationsansatz für das Bauwesen

Eine der wichtigsten Aufgaben und Herausforderungen der Bauinformatik ist gegenwärtig die Realisierung des durchgängigen, fachübergreifenden Datenflusses im Planungsprozeß eines Bauvorhabens. Im Hinblick auf die internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der deutschen Bauwirtschaft ist es unumgänglich, vorhandene Effizienzpotentiale in der Bauplanung auszuschöpfen, welche durch eine qualitative Verbesserung der Planung sowie durch eine Verringerung der Bearbeitungszeit aller beteiligten Fachplanern erreicht werden können. Nach dem gegenwärtigen Stand der Technik werden die Informationsobjekte standardisiert, damit sie durchgängig nutzbar sind. Diese werden in einem allgemeingültigen Format den speziellen Programmen der Fachplaner zur Verfügung gestellt. In dieser Arbeit wird der Ansatz verfolgt, eine Integration durch die Standardisierung der Kommunikation zwischen den Informationsobjekten und ihren Anwendungsprogrammen zu erreichen. Dabei kann auf die Standardisierung der zu übertragenden Objekte verzichtet werden. Ziel der Ausarbeitung ist die Definition von implementationstechnischen Regeln, die alle auszutauschenden Objekte sowie die Anwendungen, die solche Objekte aufnehmen wollen, erfüllen müssen. Die Bearbeitung der Objekte soll in den gewohnten Anwendungen in unveränderter Weise erfolgen

The major challenge is to understand the wide range of services for usage data, to compare the outcomes across systems and benchmark them against each other

Entwicklung der Bauinformatik in Deutschland

Die Informatik im Bauwesen oder kurz Bauinformatik hat sich in den vergangenen Jahren in Deutschland kontinuierlich entwickelt und sie hat einen festen Platz in den Fakultäten im Bauingenieurwesen an den deutschen Universitäten erhalten. Diese Entwicklung war anfänglich sehr stark fixiert auf die Berechnungen des physikalischen Verhaltens von Bauwerken. In den letzten Jahren kamen weitere Gebiete hinzu. Hier ist vor allem die Zeichnungserstellung (CAD) hervorzuheben. Diese Entwicklungen haben einen großen Reifegrad erlangt und sie haben einen festen Platz in Lehre und Forschung in der Bauinformatik. Die Rolle der Bauinformatik allgemein hat in den letzten Jahren eine stürmische Entwicklung genommen. Die Breite der Anwendungen hat ständig zugenommen und die Forderung nach einer durchgängigen Nutzbarkeit aller Informationen, die in diesem Zusammenhang bearbeitet werden, wird immer stärker gestellt. Besonders zwei Problemstellungen stehen im Mittelpunkt vieler Entwicklungen in der Bauindustrie und in den entsprechenden Softwarehäusern. Dies sind die Entwicklung und Nutzung technischer Modelle zur Unterstützung des Bauprozesses und die Unterstützung betriebswirtschaftlicher Anforderungen in der Bauindustrie. Vor allem die zweite Anforderung war bisher kaum Gegenstand der Bauinformatik. Aktuelle Bestrebungen vor allem aus der Praxis wirken darauf hin, diesen Zustand zu ändern. Die Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen an der Bauhaus-Universität beginnt diesen Anforderungen dadurch Rechnung zu tragen, daß kontinuierlich die notwendigen Voraussetzungen geschaffen werden, um diese Thematik in Lehre und Forschung kompetent aufnehmen zu können. Externe Referenten, die an der Spitze entsprechender Entwicklungen sind, werden in die Lehre mit eingebunden. Dies soll eine kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung einleiten, die helfen soll, eine zeitgemäße Ausbildung der zukünftigen Bauingenieure sicherzustellen

A flexible model for scheduling building processes based on graph theory and fuzzy numbers

The methods currently used for scheduling building processes have some major advantages as well as disadvantages. The main advantages are the arrangement of the tasks of a project in a clear, easily readable form and the calculation of valuable information like critical paths. The main disadvantage on the other hand is the inflexibility of the model caused by the modeling paradigms. Small changes of the modeled information strongly influence the whole model and lead to the need to change many more details in the plan. In this article an approach is introduced allowing the creation of more flexible schedules. It aims towards a more robust model that lowers the need to change more than a few information while being able to calculate the important propositions of the known models and leading to further valuable conclusions

Neuere Konzepte des CAD im Bauwesen: Stand und Entwicklungen

Die Modelle früher CAD-Zeichnungen sind unstrukturierte Mengen graphischer Elemente. Heute werden CAD-Zeichnungen aus semantischen Objektmodellen von Bauwerken abgeleitet, deren Informationsbasis systematisch geordnet und deren Nutzung zweckmäßig geregelt ist. Softwaremodule werden getrennt entwickelt und unter aktiver Mitwirkung der Anwender vereint eingesetzt.Ein zentrales Problem der aktuellen Forschung und Entwicklung im CAD ist die Handhabung der Beziehungen zwischen Objekten und ihrer Änderungen in verteilten Arbeitsumgebungen. Hierfür wird ein Konzept mit der Relationenalgebra als theoretische Grundlage vorgestellt
