Ionospheric effects to antenna impedance
The reciprocity between high power satellite antennas and the surrounding plasma are examined. The relevant plasma states for antenna impedance calculations are presented and plasma models, and hydrodynamic and kinetic theory, are discussed. A theory from which a variation in antenna impedance with regard to the radiated power can be calculated for a frequency range well above the plasma resonance frequency is give. The theory can include photo and secondary emission effects in antenna impedance calculations
Techniques for QCD calculations by numerical integration
Calculations of observables in quantum chromodynamics are typically performed
using a method that combines numerical integrations over the momenta of final
state particles with analytical integrations over the momenta of virtual
particles. I describe the most important steps of a method for performing all
of the integrations numerically.Comment: 36 pages with 16 postscript figure
Intellectual property as complex innovation projects component
The materials presented the possibilities development of intellectual property complex innovation projects modern highly effective science-based problems of improving the use of wastes of different industries on a complex enterprise that can provide all its energy needs alone. Some features of the possibilities of solving evidence-based problems of development of mechanisms for identifying syner-gistic processes, their scientific justification improving the use of wastes of different industries on a complex enterprise. The problem of wastes utilization and recycling is present as complex synergetic processes research and analysis of energy- and resource saving process-es for treatment of polymer wastes of various origin. The research focused on the study of issues such as the development of models of waste-modifying polymer. The investigation are focused in researching such problems as selection of scientific based methods of wastes to be utilized or recycled; the development of appropriated process flow sheets and choice of modifications additives and equipment for polymers waste recycling. The choice of appropriate plants with selected energy resources is very important for projects realization
Theoretical uncertainties for measurements of alpha_s from electroweak observables
One of the most precise measurements of the strong coupling constant
alpha_s(MZ) is obtained in the context of global analyses of precision
electroweak data. This article reviews the sensitivity of different electroweak
observables to alpha_s and describes the perturbative uncertainties related to
missing higher orders. The complete renormalisation scale dependence for the
relevant observables is calculated at next-to-next-to-leading order and a new
method is presented to determine the corresponding perturbative uncertainty for
measurements of alpha_s based on these observables.Comment: v4: Revised version with new tables and figure
Meaningful characterisation of perturbative theoretical uncertainties
We consider the problem of assigning a meaningful degree of belief to
uncertainty estimates of perturbative series. We analyse the assumptions which
are implicit in the conventional estimates made using renormalisation scale
variations. We then formulate a Bayesian model that, given equivalent initial
hypotheses, allows one to characterise a perturbative theoretical uncertainty
in a rigorous way in terms of a credibility interval for the remainder of the
series. We compare its outcome to the conventional uncertainty estimates in the
simple case of the calculation of QCD corrections to the e+e- -> hadrons
process. We find comparable results, but with important conceptual differences.
This work represents a first step in the direction of a more comprehensive and
rigorous handling of theoretical uncertainties in perturbative calculations
used in high energy phenomenology.Comment: 28 pages, 5 figures. Language modified in order to make it more

Analytic Perturbation Theory for Practitioners and Upsilon Decay
Within the ghost-free Analytic Perturbation Theory (APT), devised in the last
decade for low energy QCD, simple approximations are proposed for 3-loop
analytic couplings and their effective powers, in both the space-like
(Euclidean) and time-like (Minkowskian) regions, accurate enough in the large
range (1--100 GeV) of current physical interest.\par Effectiveness of the new
Model is illustrated by the example of decay where the
standard analysis gives value that is
inconsistent with the bulk of data for .
Instead, we obtain that
corresponds to that is close to the world
average.\par The issue of scale uncertainty for decay is also
discussed.Comment: 12 pages, 0 figures. Model slightly modified to increase its
accuracy. Numerical results upgraded, references added. The issue of scale
uncertainty is discusse
Searching For Anomalous Couplings
The capability of current and future measurements at low and high energy
colliders to probe for the existence of anomalous, CP conserving,
dipole moment-type couplings is examined. At present, constraints
on the universality of the tau charged and neutral current interactions as well
as the shape of the energy spectrum provide the strongest
bounds on such anomalous couplings. The presence of these dipole moments are
shown to influence, e.g., the extraction of from
decays and can lead to apparent violations of CVC expectations.Comment: 24 pages, 9 figure
Light, long-lived and secluded: can gluinos be driven out from LEP1 data ?
We briefly report about a possible settlement of the still ongoing dispute
concerning the existence of SUSY signals in 4jet events at LEP1. We base our
arguments on a simple selection strategy exploiting secondary vertex tagging
and kinematical constraints, which could allow one to access or exclude gluino
events for a broad range of masses and lifetimes.Comment: 10 pages, LaTeX, 3 PostScript figures embedded with epsfig. Complete

Review of Final LEP Results or A Tribute to LEP
After a comment on the performance of LEP some highlights of the LEP1 and
LEP2 physics programmes are reviewed. The talk concentrates on the precision
measurements at the Z resonance, two fermion production above the Z, W+W-
production, ZZ production, indirect limits on the Higgs mass, LEP contributions
to the exploration of the CKM matrix, and on the LEP measurements of alpha_s.Comment: Proceedings of the XX International Symposium on Lepton and Photon
