Monopoles and clusters
We define and study certain hyperkaehler manifolds which capture the
asymptotic behaviour of the SU(2)-monopole metric in regions where monopoles
break down into monopoles of lower charges. The rate at which these new metrics
approximate the monopole metric is exponential, as for the Gibbons-Manton
metric.Comment: v2.: relation to calorons mentioned; added explanation
Structure, nonlinear properties, and photosensitivity of (GeSe2)â100-âx(Sb2Se3)âx glasses
International audienceChalcogenide glasses from (GeSe2)â100-âx(Sb2Se3)âx system were synthesized, with x varying from 5 to 70, in order to evaluate the influence of antimony selenide addn. on nonlinear optical properties and photosensitivity. Nonlinear refractive index and two photon absorption coeffs. were measured both at 1064 nm in picosecond regime using the Z-âscan technique and at 1.55 ÎŒm in femtosecond regime using an original method based on direct anal. of beam profile change while propagating in the chalcogenide glasses. The study of their photosensitivity at 1.55 ÎŒm revealed highly glass compn. dependent behavior and quasi-âphotostable compns. have been identified in femtosecond regime. To better understand these characteristics, the evolution of the glass transition temp., d. and structure with the chem. compn. were detd
Closed forms and multi-moment maps
We extend the notion of multi-moment map to geometries defined by closed
forms of arbitrary degree. We give fundamental existence and uniqueness results
and discuss a number of essential examples, including geometries related to
special holonomy. For forms of degree four, multi-moment maps are guaranteed to
exist and are unique when the symmetry group is (3,4)-trivial, meaning that the
group is connected and the third and fourth Lie algebra Betti numbers vanish.
We give a structural description of some classes of (3,4)-trivial algebras and
provide a number of examples.Comment: 36 page

New insights into the genetic etiology of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
Characterization of the genetic landscape of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related dementias (ADD) provides a unique opportunity for a better understanding of the associated pathophysiological processes. We performed a two-stage genome-wide association study totaling 111,326 clinically diagnosed/'proxy' AD cases and 677,663 controls. We found 75 risk loci, of which 42 were new at the time of analysis. Pathway enrichment analyses confirmed the involvement of amyloid/tau pathways and highlighted microglia implication. Gene prioritization in the new loci identified 31 genes that were suggestive of new genetically associated processes, including the tumor necrosis factor alpha pathway through the linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex. We also built a new genetic risk score associated with the risk of future AD/dementia or progression from mild cognitive impairment to AD/dementia. The improvement in prediction led to a 1.6- to 1.9-fold increase in AD risk from the lowest to the highest decile, in addition to effects of age and the APOE Δ4 allele

Techniques logiques de commande et animation de structures matricielles Ă©lectroluminescentes
This article presents some original techniques for visualisation of static or dynamic information on matrix displays. The used supports are electroluminescent devices composed of ZnS (Cu/Cl) (Destriau effect) or of light emitting diodes (GaAsP). Prototypes showing emitting performances of this supports according to the treatment of information have been made.
