String breaking in Lattice QCD

The separation of a heavy quark and antiquark pair leads to the formation of a tube of flux, or string, which should break in the presence of light quark-antiquark pairs. This expected zero temperature phenomenon has proven elusive in simulations of lattice QCD. Constraining the Equation of State with Moment of Inertia Measurements

We estimate that the moment of inertia of star A in the recently discovered double pulsar system PSR J0737-3039 may be determined after a few years of observation to something like 10% accuracy. This would enable accurate estimates of the radius of the star and the presure of matter in the vicinity of 1 to 2 times the nuclear saturation density, which would in turn provide strong constraints on the equation of state of neutron stars and the physics of their interiors.Comment: Submitted to ApJ, 4 figure

A Classification of random Dirac fermions

We present a detailed classification of random Dirac hamiltonians in two spatial dimensions based on the implementation of discrete symmetries. Our classification is slightly finer than that of random matrices, and contains thirteen classes. An Exegetical Analysis Of Numbers 31: 27 As A Panacea For Resource Control Agitation In Niger Delta

This paper is a critical discourse on the Biblical panacea for the unending agitations for resource control in Nigeria Niger Delta. It aimed at finding out if the Biblical concept of Justice (Hebrew, צִדקָהָ ) and equity (Hebrew, מיֵשָׁר ), which are the hall marks of every society that operates under the rule of Law, have been duly applied in the Niger Delta crisis. The analyses employed Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework. Data gathered both from the primary and secondary sources were analyzed through the hermeneutical, descriptive and analytical methods. The findings of the paper are that Niger Delta peoples have a right to far better living condition than is on offer presently, and available data justify this claim. The paper is of the view that the Biblical concept of Justice (Hebrew, צִדקָהָ ) and equity (Hebrew, מיֵשָׁר ), as prescribed in Numbers 31: 27, can be applied in the Niger Delta agitation issue. In the light of the above findings, the paper concludes that to achieve the desired peace, anchored on the Old Testament idea there is the need to engage every oil bearing community as a stake holder in the entire process of oil exploitation in their community

Legislating Against Cybersquatting in Nigeria: Moving Beyond Penal Law into Protective and Compensational Remedies

This paper analyses the menace of cybersquatting on the cyberian frontier in Nigeria with a look to offer real protection to owners of real trademarks and domain names. It examines the provisions of the United States Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act of 1999 and the practice adopted in the UK to protect real trademark owners. It examines Nigeria's recent effort at legislating to combat cybercrime via the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention Etc.) Act, 2015 especially the provisions of Section 25 dealing with cybersquatting and points out the various inadequacies of the legislation. It suggests the need to move beyond a criminal viewpoint and penal sanctions and allow for remedies in the laws of tort that secures private rights. It concludes by challenging lawmaking authorities in Nigeria to make laws that accord with global trends in the light of the inter-territoriality of cyberspace
