    Introducción La enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica (EPOC) se caracteriza por obstrucción del flujo de aire y síntomas respiratorios persistentes, como son la disnea y la tos crónica. Se considera la tercera causa de muerte a nivel mundial. Las personas que padecen EPOC presentan un estilo de vida inactivo, considerándose la actividad física una conducta de salud modificable al reportar beneficios como la mejor calidad de vida o el menor riesgo de exacerbaciones. Objetivo Este proyecto trata de comprobar la efectividad de una intervención multicomponente basada en ejercicio físico, entrevista motivacional y nuevas tecnologías en sujetos con EPOC. Material y método Se plantea un ensayo clínico multicéntrico, controlado y aleatorizado, en proporción 1:1, comparando un grupo control y un grupo intervención de hombres y mujeres, de entre 60 y 75 años, que no cumplan con las recomendaciones de actividad física para personas con EPOC. Durante 12 meses se llevará a cabo un seguimiento de la actividad física recomendada en ambos grupos, implementando la actuación sobre el grupo intervención con progresión en el número de pasos, sesiones de entrevista motivacional, seguimiento telemático y recordatorios vía SMS. Los resultados primarios serán motivación, capacidad de ejercicio y nivel de actividad física; evaluados con el cuestionario BREQ-3, la prueba de caminata de 6 minutos y el cuestionario SAQ-COPD, respectivamente. Los resultados secundarios se analizarán con el cuestionario CAT para la calidad de vida y la escala mMRC para la disnea

    La céramique est un enregistrement culturel : les formes et les décors nous renseignent sur des choix stylistiques et fonctionnels, les processus de façonnage mettent au jour les choix techniques. Nous nous sommes intéressés à une étape centrale de la chaîne opératoire, le montage des poteries à une période où le tour de potier n'était pas encore connu. Nos observations concernent les céramiques de la fin de l'âge du Bronze (1400-750 av. J.C.) entre Rhin et Rhône, et des poteries de la nécropole de Sanga (Katanga, RDC). Pour détecter les stigmates de montage sur ces récipients archéologiques, nous avons élaboré un référentiel expérimental des techniques céramiques. Notre projet de recherche visait à apprécier les niveaux de savoir-faire, saisir les choix techniques, les variabilités. Il s'agissait de tester, sur des collections archéologiques et ethnologiques, la méthode que nous avons élaborée et de la confronter aux résultats d'autres analyses au sein d'une équipe. La finalité de cette étude était d'établir un mode de diagnostic contrôlé pour la reconnaissance des techniques de façonnage des céramiques, puis, à plus long terme, d'exploiter l'ensemble des interactions sociales qui apparaissent alors, de la cellule domestique à l'espace du peuplement : qui produit, comment, de quelle façon, pourquoi et pour qui.Ceramic is a cultural recording: forms and decorations inform us about stylistics and functional choices, the processes of shaping bring to light the technical ones. We were interested in a stage of the chaîne opératoire, the shaping of the potteries when the potter's wheel was not yet known. Our observations relate to ceramics of the Later Bronze age (1400-750 cal BC) between the Rhine and the Rhone and to ceramics from the necropolis of Sanga (Katanga, DRC). To detect the marks of shaping on these archaeological containers, we worked out an experimental frame of reference of the ceramic techniques. The aim of our research project was to determinate the levels of know-how, seize the technical choices and their variations. Our aim was to test the method we worked out on archaeological and ethnological ceramics, and to confront it with the results of other analyses within a team. The goal of this study was to establish a mode of controlled diagnosis for the recognition of tne ceramics shaping techniques and to explore the field of social interactions provided, from the household level to peopling space : who produces, how, why and for whom

    Interoperability and Information Integration in an Early Online Academic Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations: The Case of {BTD}

    Cooperative organization has been proposed as a means to improve the usefulness of virtual libraries. Information interchange among library and other academic applications is often hindered by the lack of application interoperability. This hindrance may be overcome through the development of standards that allow for digital libraries to exchange and share information with other applications. The Graduate Program in Production Engineering (PPGEP) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), was launched in 1995 together with its Theses and Dissertations Bank (BTD). From a digital document repository, the BTD evolved into a system that combines bibliometry and informetry features. BTD is used by students and faculty in their research activities, but also by decision makers from industry and academia. They use it, respectively, to search for specialists and to measure interest and knowledge interchange among PPGEP research areas. This article presents the history, features, and development prospects for the BTD project. The integration of BTD with other academic applications, especially those of the Brazilian national science and technology platform, is emphasized

    Design of a Realistic Robotic Head based on Action Coding System

    Producción CientíficaIn this paper, the development of a robotic head able to move and show di erent emotions is addressed. The movement and emotion generation system has been designed following the human facial muscu- lature. Starting from the Facial Action Coding System (FACS), we have built a 26 actions units model that is able to produce the most relevant movements and emotions of a real human head. The whole work has been carried out in two steps. In the rst step, a mechanical skeleton has been designed and built, in which the di erent actuators have been inserted. In the second step, a two-layered silicon skin has been manu- factured, on which the di erent actuators have been inserted following the real muscle-insertions, for performing the di erent movements and gestures. The developed head has been integrated in a high level be- havioural architecture, and pilot experiments with 10 users regarding emotion recognition and mimicking have been carried out.Junta de Castilla y León (Programa de apoyo a proyectos de investigación-Ref. Using Dynamic Neural Networks for Battery State of Charge Estimation in Electric Vehicles

    Get PDF
    Due to urban pollution, transport electrification is being currently promoted in different countries. Electric Vehicles (EVs) sales are growing all over the world, but there are still some challenges to be solved before a mass adoption of this type of vehicles occurs. One of the main drawbacks of EVs are their limited range, for that reason an accurate estimation of the state-of-charge (SOC) is required. The main contribution of this work is the design of a Nonlinear Autoregressive with External Input (NARX) artificial neural network to estimate the SOC of an EV using real data extracted from the car during its daily trips. The network is trained using voltage, current and four different battery pack temperatures as input and SOC as output. This network has been tested using 54 different real driving cycles, obtaining highly accurate results, with a mean squared error lower than 1e-6 in all situationsThis work has been partially financed by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness within the framework of the project DEMS: “Sistema distribuido de gestión de energía en redes eléctricas inteligentes (TEC2015-66126-R)"
