Dynamics on resonant clusters for the quintic non linear Schr\"odinger equation
We construct solutions to the quintic nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation on the
circle with initial conditions supported on arbitrarily many different resonant
clusters. This is a sequel of a work of Beno\^it Gr\'ebert and the second
author.Comment: 11 page
Canards from Chua's circuit
The aim of this work is to extend Beno\^it's theorem for the generic
existence of "canards" solutions in singularly perturbed dynamical systems of
dimension three with one fast variable to those of dimension four. Then, it is
established that this result can be found according to the Flow Curvature
Method. Applications to Chua's cubic model of dimension three and four enable
to state the existence of "canards" solutions in such systems.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1408.489

Redrafting Ohio\u27s Advance Directive Laws
The Bioethics Network of Ohio (BENO) held its second annual conference on June 12, 1992 at Ohio Dominican College, Columbus, Ohio. Attendees recommended that a Task Force\u27 review Ohio\u27s Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care (DPAHC) and Modified Uniform Rights for the Terminally Ill (MURTIA) laws and suggest changes that would retain the basic structure of these provisions but also simplify and clarify their meaning. The Task Force completed a draft in six months and circulated it to approximately 450 individual and institutional BENO members. About one hundred members responded and this article incorporates most of their comments
An Empirical Note on Regionalization and Globalization
Purpose – Is it regionalization or globalization that more accurately depicts the state of the global economy? Exports and foreign direct investments (FDI) data are analyzed with the aim of answering the question and determining how intra- and inter-regional integration has changed over time.
Design/methodology/approach – To address the research questions, this paper covers the following. First, it takes a longitudinal perspective in examining the changes taking place in exports and FDI at the regional level. Second, it draws strategic business and marketing implications of this development.
Findings – The results show a trend toward regionalization in the Quad (North America, Western Europe, Asia, and Latin America), especially with respect to exports data.
Originality/value – Findings, strategic implications, and directions for future research are presented
The Impact of Pandemics on Workforce Joblessness in Central Europe in pre-Covid Era and during Pandemic
Unemployment affects individuals socially, personally, and economically. The impact of being jobless can be long-lasting. Five different generations participate in the workplace today. As countries throughout the world went into lockdown to combat the spread of Covid-19, unemployment numbers rose rapidly. This study aimed to examine the effects of unemployment in three-generation groups in V4 and Austria in the pre-Covid-19 era and during Covid-19. Descriptive statistics were used to present the collected data. OECD data were used for the analysis. Based on the data collected, unemployment decreases with age. The group aged 15-24 shows significantly higher unemployment than the other two groups. A gender difference in unemployment was confirmed only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Unemployment has increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. The unemployment gap for females before and during Covid-19 was not confirmed. The T-Test confirmed the difference in unemployment before and during the crisis in the age categories 15-24 and 25-54. In Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, the number of people with a duration of employment of up to one year differs in all age categories. In the Czech Republic, there is a significant difference only between the youngest group and the other two. In all countries, the largest number of people with the employment of up to one year is in the age group 25-54. In none of the examined countries was a gender unemployment gap proved before Covid-19
Minimally Constrained Stable Switched Systems and Application to Co-simulation
We propose an algorithm to restrict the switching signals of a constrained
switched system in order to guarantee its stability, while at the same time
attempting to keep the largest possible set of allowed switching signals. Our
work is motivated by applications to (co-)simulation, where numerical stability
is a hard constraint, but should be attained by restricting as little as
possible the allowed behaviours of the simulators. We apply our results to
certify the stability of an adaptive co-simulation orchestration algorithm,
which selects the optimal switching signal at run-time, as a function of
(varying) performance and accuracy requirements.Comment: Technical report complementing the following conference publication:
