Por lo cual, se parte de saberes tradicionales como los cantos de zafra y las rondas de velorio empleados por los campesinos del caribe colombiano.     Se presenta una síntesis del estado actual de la sistemática de algunos grupos estudiados por Gustavo Lozano-Contreras, enfatizando los aspectos que aún permanecen en discusión, Se resalta la importancia de los hallazgos de Matudaea, Oreomunnea y Trigonobalanus en Suramérica, se presentan las discrepancias en el reconocimiento del status genérico de Dugandiodendron y Trigonobalanus, y se  menciona la necesidad de estudios adicionales en Metteniusa, a fin de aportar nuevos datos para sus relaciones sistemáticas en los esquemas de clasificación actuales.Lozano-Contrerass contributions dealing with sorne Neotropical taxa are here sumrnarized. A review of the current status of the systernatics of these taxa shows that some critical aspects remain controversial. The significance ofthe findings of Matudaea. Oreomunnea and Trigonobalanus in South América is ernphasized. In addition, the discussion of the generic status of  Dugandiodendron and Trigonobalanus is here outlined. Finally, we make a call for additional studies on Metteniusa, in order to provide new data to explore the systernatic relationships ofthis enigmatic genus

    Oxidative quality and color variation during refrigeration (4 °C) of rainbow trout fillets marinated with different natural antioxidants from oregano, quillaia and rosemary

    The study aimed at determining the antioxidant effect of natural extracts on the oxidative quality and color variation of rainbow trout fillets during storage at 4 °C. The fillets were marinated and samples from the belly flap area and Norwegian quality cuts were used for lipid oxidation determination while the dorsal region was used for color measurements. The fillets were marinated with the different treatments: 470 mg l-1 of oregano extract, 6.84 ml l-1 of quillaia extract, 7.2 ml l-1 of rosemary extract and 2 ml l-1 of a synthetic antioxidant. Maximum TBARS (Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances) values of belly flap and Norwegian quality cuts occurred at five and six days of storage, respectively. The susceptibility of treatments to lipid oxidation in decreasing order was: control>quillaia>oregano>rosemary>synthetic antioxidant. An increase in lightness (L*) and redness (a*) were observed for rosemary and quillaia extracts when compared to control samples. Marinates with natural antioxidants may be an alternative for extending shelf-life of trout fillets at least during the first six days of storage at 4 °C

    A política de reestruturação das universidades federais e a instituição de modelos formativos inovadores

    No ano de 2007 foi instituído no Brasil, por meio do Decreto nº 6.096, o Programa de Apoio aos Planos de Reestruturação e Expansão das Universidades Federais brasileiras, conhecido como REUNI. Entre seus principais objetivos estavam os de expandir o número de vagas no ensino superior público, elevar as taxas de conclusão e diminuir a evasão dos cursos. Um pouco antes do REUNI, a Universidade Federal de São Paulo (Unifesp) já tinha dado início a um processo de expansão e posteriormente aderiu ao programa, ampliando ainda mais o número de cursos, vagas e campi.Paralelamente aos cursos que tradicionalmente oferecia, a universidade implantou novos e com distintos modelos formativos, dentre eles, os chamados bacharelados interdisciplinares (BI). Tendo em vista esse panorama, este artigo analisa os diferentes modelos formativos da Unifesp a fim de compreender em que medida favorecem a permanência e a conclusão de seus estudantes. Para tanto, foram analisados dados referentes à matrícula, coeficiente de rendimento, taxa de evasão e taxa de sucesso acadêmico nos diferentes modelos formativos. A análise mostra que modelos alternativos por si sós não ampliam a permanência e a conclusão e não melhoram os rendimentos acadêmicos dos estudantes, inclusive nos BI. Ao fim, recomenda-se conhecer melhor o perfil e atender de forma mais adequada às necessidades básicas dos novos estudantes

    Pseudo-Random Bit Generator Using Chaotic Seed for Cryptographic Algorithm in Data Protection of Electric Power Consumption

    Cryptographic algorithms have played an important role in information security for protecting privacy. The literature provides evidence that many types of chaotic cryptosystems have been proposed. These chaotic systems encode information to obviate its orbital instability and ergodicity. In this work, a pseudo-random cryptographic generator algorithm with a symmetric key, based on chaotic functions, is proposed. Moreover, the algorithm exploits dynamic simplicity and synchronization to generate encryption sub-keys using unpredictable seeds, extracted from a chaotic zone, in order to increase their level of randomness. Also, it is applied to a simulated electrical energy consumption signal and implemented on a prototype, using low hardware resources, to measure physical variables; hence, the unpredictability degree was statistically analyzed using the resulting cryptogram. It is shown that the pseudo-random sequences produced by the cryptographic key generator have acceptable properties with respect to randomness, which are validated in this paper using National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) statistical tests. To complement the evaluation of the encrypted data, the Lena image is coded and its metrics are compared with those reported in the literature, yielding some useful results

    Manejo perioperatorio del paciente con síndrome de apnea-hipopnea obstructiva del sueño (SAHOS)

    Los pacientes con diagnóstico de síndrome de apnea-hipopnea obstructiva del sueño (SAHOS) pueden ser llevados de forma segura a cualquier procedimiento quirúrgico, incluso de manera ambulatoria si tienen control adecuado de sus otras comorbilidades. El tratamiento con presión positiva continúa en vía aérea (CPAP) en pacientes con diagnóstico confirmado disminuye el riesgo de presentar complicaciones cardiovasculares a largo plazo. La sedación debe ser hecha por un anestesiólogo, quien, además, debe vigilar al paciente y disponer del equipo adecuado para atender complicaciones respiratorias emergentes. Se sugiere que, en estos pacientes, los procedimientos sean hechos en el ámbito hospitalario, donde se tenga disponibilidad en la unidad de cuidados post-anestésicos y personal para monitoreo por al menos una hora tras finalizar el procedimiento. El tratamiento con CPAP debe continuar según sea ordenado por el médico tratante. Es importante que desde la valoración preanestésica se identifique a los pacientes con riesgo de SAHOS para lograr trazar un plan anestésico que disminuya las complicaciones a nivel respiratorio y del manejo de la vía área.Patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) can safely undergo a surgical procedure, even on an outpatient basis, if other comorbidities are adequately controlled. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment in patients with a confirmed diagnosis decreases the risk of long-term cardiovascular complications. Sedation should be done by an anesthesiologist, who must also monitor the patient and have the appropriate equipment to deal with emerging respiratory complications.Procedures undergone by these patients should be performed in a hospital setting, in which a post-anesthetic care unit and staff are available for follow-up, at least for an hour after the procedure ends. CPAP treatment should be continued as ordered by the treating physician. Identifying patients with OSAHS risk during the preanesthetic evaluation is important to propose an anesthetic plan that reduces respiratory complications and improves airway management
