Spin-to-Orbital Angular Momentum Conversion in Semiconductor Microcavities

We experimentally demonstrate a technique for the generation of optical beams carrying orbital angular momentum using a planar semiconductor microcavity. Despite being isotropic systems, the transverse electric - transverse magnetic (TE-TM) polarization splitting featured by semiconductor microcavities allows for the conversion of the circular polarization of an incoming laser beam into the orbital angular momentum of the transmitted light field. Formation of metallic magnetic clusters in a Kondo-lattice metal: Evidence from an optical study

Magnetic materials are usually divided into two classes: those with localised magnetic moments, and those with itinerant charge carriers. We present a comprehensive experimental (spectroscopic ellipsomerty) and theoretical study to demonstrate that these two types of magnetism do not only coexist but complement each other in the Kondo-lattice metal, Tb2PdSi3. In this material the itinerant charge carriers interact with large localised magnetic moments of Tb(4f) states, forming complex magnetic lattices at low temperatures, which we associate with self-organisation of magnetic clusters. The formation of magnetic clusters results in low-energy optical spectral weight shifts, which correspond to opening of the pseudogap in the conduction band of the itinerant charge carriers and development of the low- and high-spin intersite electronic transitions. This phenomenon, driven by self-trapping of electrons by magnetic fluctuations, could be common in correlated metals, including besides Kondo-lattice metals, Fe-based and cuprate superconductors.Comment: 30 pages, 6 Figure

The organization of urological care in Sverdlovsk region

The main parameters of the urological care in Sverdlovsk region where analyzed. The structure of urological morbidity is presented in dynamic since 2000 to 2015 years. The information about doctors personnel and bedspace where characterized. In 2015 the order of Sverdlovsk Ministry of Health No128-p from 02.09.2015 entered into force. It directed the urological patients routing. Additional configuring of urological departments with new equipment helped to add surgical activity twice. The number of contact litotrypsies and percutaneous nephrostomies has doubled in comparison with 2014 year, the number of prostate transurethral resections has tripled. Ambulatory urological care is also developing. The “Man's health" program has been working since 2005 year. It’s subprogram “Man’s health in Sverdlovsk region” started in 2015 for early detecting of urological diseases. The new aim is to bring out risk groups for erectile dysfunction end infertility with further treatment of this patients.Проанализированы основные показатели организации урологической помощи в Свердловской области. Представлена структура урологической и онкоурологической заболеваемости в динамике с 2000 по 2015 гг. Приведены данные о кадровом составе и коечном фонде урологической службы. В 2015 году вступил в силу приказ Министерства Здравоохранения Свердловской области № 128-п от 9.02.2015, который определил маршрутизацию урологических больных, значительно улучшилось оснащение урологических отделений области, что позволило в два раза повысить хирургическую активность. Количество контактных литотрипсий выросло в 2 раза по сравнению с 2014 годом, трансуретральных резекций предстательной железы - в 3 раза, чрескожных пиелонефростомий - в 2 раза. Развивается также амбулаторная урологическая помощь. С 2006 года в области реализуется программа «Урологическое здоровье мужчины», с 2015 года вступила в действие подпрограмма «Урологическое здоровье мужчин Свердловской области», направленная на охват всего населения анкетами по раннему выявлению урологических заболеваний. Новой задачей стало выявление групп риска, путем анкетирования с последующим обследованием в зкспресс-диагностических урологических кабинетах, что позволит создать реестр пациентов с эректильной дисфункцией и мужчин, страдающих бесплодием

Investigation of the Jaw Crusher Operation with Backlash Eliminators

The condition for the appearance of additional dynamic forces in the presence of gaps in the journal bearings of the jaw crusher is determined. The design of the backlash eliminator equipped with pneumatics is described. It was experimentally established that the use of pneumatic devices for backlash elimination in the interfaces of the moving links, using journal bearings, during the operation of the jaw crusher, reduce the magnitude of accelerations and, therefore, increase the reliability of the crusher as a whole. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

Results of repeated beg therapy in combined treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer

Following article reveals the results of BCG (imuron) vaccine usage in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer combined treatment (transurethral resection and BCG — therapy). BCG vaccine is not a antitumor drug, but activates antitumor immunity. Long-term clinical research revealed frequency and period of bladder tumor recurrence. Clinical research results has shown the effectiveness of repeated course of BCG therapy after bladder tumor transurethral resection in case of recurrences with positive response in first course.В работе представлены результаты использования местной иммунотерапии вакциной БЦЖ (имурон) в комбинированном лечении (трансуретральная резекция и БЦЖ-терапия) неинвазивного рака мочевого пузыря. Не являясь противоопухолевым препаратом, БЦЖ вакцина активизирует противоопухолевый иммунитет больного. Многолетнее диспансерное наблюдение выявило частоту и время появления рецидива опухоли мочевого пузыря. Результаты клинических исследований показали эффективность повторного курса БЦЖ-терапии после трансуретральной резекции опухоли мочевого пузыря при возникновении рецидивов через 4 -5 и более лет с положительным ответом в первом курсе

Variations on the Deuteron

We consider few problems which are related to the deuteron and have simple analytical solution. Relation is found between the deuteron electric quadrupole moment and the $np$-scattering amplitude. The degree of circular polarization of photons is calculated for the radiative capture of longitudinally polarized thermal neutrons. The anapole, electric dipole and magnetic quadrupole moments of the deuteron are calculated.Comment: 14 pages, late
