This proposal associates the methodology of indexing with images with the FRSAD model as a compatible mechanism for a global information share and use of subject data, both within the library sector and beyond. The conceptual model of imagetic indexing shows how images are related to topics and ‘key-images’ are interpreted as nomens to implement the FRSAD model. Indexing with images consists of using images instead of key-words or descriptors, to represent and organize information. Implementing the imaged navigation in OPACs denotes multiple advantages derived from this means rethinking the OPAC anew, since we are looking forward to sharing concepts within the subject authority data. Images, carrying linguistic objects, permeate inter-social and cultural concepts. In practice it includes translated metadata, symmetrical multilingual thesaurus, or any traditional indexing tools. The imaged OPAC (iOPAC) embodies efforts focused on conceptual levels as expected from librarians. Imaged interfaces are more intuitive since users do not need specific training for information retrieval, offering easier comprehension of indexing codes, larger conceptual portability of descriptors (as images), and a better interoperability between discourse codes and indexing competences affecting positively social and cultural interoperability. The imagetic methodology deploys R&D fields for more suitable interfaces taking into consideration users with specific needs such as deafness and illiteracy. This methodology arouse questions about the paradigms of the primacy of orality in information systems and pave the way to a legitimacy of multiple perspectives in document indexing by suggesting a more universal communication system based on images. Interdisciplinarity in neurosciences, linguistics and information sciences would be desirable competencies for further investigations about the nature of cognitive processes in information organization and classification while developing assistive KOS for individuals with communication problems, such autism and deafness

We prove necessary optimality conditions, in the class of continuous functions, for variational problems defined with Jumarie's modified Riemann-Liouville derivative. The fractional basic problem of the calculus of variations with free boundary conditions is considered, as well as problems with isoperimetric and holonomic constraints.Comment: Submitted 13-Aug-2010; revised 24-Nov-2010; accepted 28-March-2011; for publication in Computers and Mathematics with Application

Fractional Euler-Lagrange differential equations via Caputo derivatives

We review some recent results of the fractional variational calculus. Necessary optimality conditions of Euler-Lagrange type for functionals with a Lagrangian containing left and right Caputo derivatives are given. Several problems are considered: with fixed or free boundary conditions, and in presence of integral constraints that also depend on Caputo derivatives.Comment: This is a preprint of a paper whose final and definite form will appear as Chapter 9 of the book Fractional Dynamics and Control, D. This work reviews the literature of chiral capillary electrokinetic chromatography from January 2016 to March 2021. This is done to explore the state-of-the-art approach and recent developments carried out in this field. The separation principle of the technique is described and supported with simple graphical illustrations, showing migration under normal and reversed polarity modes of the separation voltage. The most relevant applications of the technique for enantioseparation of drugs and other enantiomeric molecules in different fields using chiral selectors in single, dual, or multiple systems are highlighted. Measures to improve the detection sensitivity of chiral capillary electrokinetic chromatography with UV detector are discussed, and the alternative aspects are explored, besides special emphases to hyphenation compatibility to mass spectrometry. Partial filling and counter migration techniques are described. Indirect identification of the separated enantiomers and the determination of enantiomeric migration order are mentioned. The application of Quality by Design principles to facilitate method development, optimization, and validation is presented. The elucidation and explanation of chiral recognition in molecular bases are discussed with special focus on the role of molecular modeling

In order to determine reasonable planting time and zoning for soybean in the regions of Northeast and Southeast Pará, water ballance simulation and a zoning approach were conduced. Water balance was analysed by using combinations of 12 planting time, soil available water and two crop varieties. In adition, field informations related to soil texture, plant phenology and crop water consumption were also analysed. From water balance several paramaters were determined including the moisture satisfaction index (HNSI) and climatic risks. The zoning approach was based on two aspects: the climatic risks as an indicator to determine the climatic suitability classes for soybean and the geographic system analyses(GIS) for spatial analysis. The overall results show 72 zoning maps indicanting favorable planting time and suitable areas for soybean crop

The objective of this work was to determine periods of climatic risks for the sowing of the soybean in Conceição do Araguaia, in the southeast of the State of Pará, aiming to subsidize the local agricultural planning. The methodology took in consideration some aspects such as: water necessity of the crop, duration of the cycle and the phenological phases of the crop. Water balance simulations were also considered in order to determine water need indexs for the crop?s growing phase wich goes from floering to grain filling (crops water critical phase). The water balance had been carried through simulation of 72 planting periods between January and December, with level of retention in the in the ground of 70 mm and crop cycle of 120 days. The gotten results had show that the period between september and january is wath presenst minor climactic risk for the plantation of the soybean in Conceição do Araguaia

The study of fractional variational problems in terms of a combined fractional Caputo derivative is introduced. Necessary optimality conditions of Euler-Lagrange type for the basic, isoperimetric, and Lagrange variational problems are proved, as well as transversality and sufficient optimality conditions. This allows to obtain necessary and sufficient Pareto optimality conditions for multiobjective fractional variational problems.Comment: Submitted 18-Nov-2010; accepted 28-Oct-2011; to Applied Mathematics and Computation (ISSN: 0096-3003).
