    How high is the inter-observer reproducibility in the LIRADS reporting system?

    Purpose: To investigate the reproducibility of LIRADS v2014 and contribute to its widespread use in clinical practice. Material and methods: This retrospective, single-centre study was conducted between January 2010 and October 2015. A total of 132 patients who had dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/computed tomography (CT) images in the Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) with liver nodule were included in the study, 37 of whom had histopathology results. Five radiologists who participated in the study, interpreted liver nodules independently on different PACS stations according to the LIRADS reporting system and its main parameters. Results: We determined that level of inter-observer agreement in the LR-1, LR-5, and LR-5V categories was higher than in the LR-2, LR-3, and LR-4 categories (κ = 0.522, 0.442, and 0.600 in the LR-1, LR-5, and LR-5V categories, respectively; κ = 0.082, 0.298, and 0.143 in the LR-2, LR-3, and LR-4 categories, respectively). The parameter that we observed to have the highest level of inter-observer agreement was venous thrombus (κ = 0.600). Conclusions: Our study showed that LIRADS achieves an acceptable inter-observer reproducibility in terms of clinical practice although it is insufficient at intermediate risk levels. We think that the prevalence of its use will be further increased with training related to the subject and the assignment of numerical values that express the probability of malignancy for each category and including the ancillary features in the algorithm according to clearer rules

    1980'li yılların başında, gerekli altyapı ve yasal düzenlemeler yapılmadan hayata geçirilen ticari serbestleşmeye dönük ekonomi politikaları, o yıllardan itibaren artış sergileyen cari açık sorununu günümüze kadar beraberinde taşımıştır. Bu nedenle Türkiye ekonomisi ile ilgili olarak son dönemlerde en çok tartışılan konulardan biri ülkenin cari işlemler açığı rakamının büyümesidir. Bunun en önemli nedeni ise cari dengenin ekonominin en önemli bileşenlerinden biri olmasıdır. Bu kapsamda yapılan eş-bütünleşme analizi sonucunda seriler arasında eş-bütünleşme ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca daha sonra yapılan VAR Modeline dayalı nedensellik testi sonucunda ise döviz kuru ile cari işlemler dengesi arasında bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunamazken, GSYH ile cari işlemler dengesi arasında çift yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmuştur.The economic policies which is oriented trade liberalization implemented without the necessary infrastructure and regulations at the beginning of 1980, has carried the current account deficit increased from an exhibit that year until today. For this reason, the growth of the country's current account deficit figures is the one of the most discussed topics in recent years regarding Turkey's economy. The most important reason of this is the current account balance is one of the most important components of the economy. In this context, as a result of cointegration analysis, cointegration relationship between the series have been identified. The causality test results indicate that while any causality relationship between exchange rate and current acount balance could not be seen, bi-directional causality has been found between GDP and current account balance

    Concept Teaching With Cooperative Learning on Social Studies Lesson

    Bu araştırmada, işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin, öğrencilerin sosyal bilgiler dersi “Adım Adım Türkiye” ünitesinde geçen kavramları öğrenme başarıları üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırma deseni olarak öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu model kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, 2005–2006 öğretim yılında ilköğretim 5. sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Deney grubunda 30 öğrenci, kontrol grubunda ise 32 öğrenci yer almıştır. İlgili ünite, 15 ders saati sürecinde deney grubunda işbirlikli öğrenme yöntemiyle, kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri ile işlenmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, kavram başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, t-testinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubundaki öğrencilerin kavram başarısı, kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin başarısından daha yüksek çıkmıştır (t = 2,54; p < 0,05).In this research, the effect of cooperative learning on students&amp;#8217; concept learning are examined. The design of the research was based on an experimental pre-test post-test model and the study was carried out on the 62 students, 30 participants in the experimental group, 32 participants in the control group who are students in primary school (fifth class). Students&amp;#8217; concept achievement was measured by means of concept achievement test. Data analysis was applied t-test for statistical analysis. According to the results, cooperative learning was effected on the students&amp;#8217; concept learning in &amp;#8220;Adım Adım T&uuml;rkiye&amp;#8221; unit (t = 2,54; p &lt; 0,05)

    Autotuning runtime specialization for sparse matrix-vector multiplication

    Due to copyright restrictions, the access to the full text of this article is only available via subscription.Runtime specialization is used for optimizing programs based on partial information available only at runtime. In this paper we apply autotuning on runtime specialization of Sparse Matrix-Vector Multiplication to predict a best specialization method among several. In 91% to 96% of the predictions, either the best or the second-best method is chosen. Predictions achieve average speedups that are very close to the speedups achievable when only the best methods are used. By using an efficient code generator and a carefully designed set of matrix features, we show the runtime costs can be amortized to bring performance benefits for many real-world cases.TÜBİTAK ; NS
