On dimension of inverse limits with upper semicontinuous set-valued bonding functions

AbstractWe give results about the dimension of continua, obtained by combining inverse limits of inverse sequences of metric spaces and one-valued bonding maps with inverse limits of inverse sequences of metric spaces and upper semicontinuous set-valued bonding functions, by standard procedure introduced in [I. Banič, Continua with kernels, Houston J. Math. (2006), in press]

Span of a Graph: Keeping the Safety Distance

Inspired by Lelek's idea from \cite{Lelek}, we introduce the novel notion of the span of graphs. Using this, we solve the problem of determining the \emph{maximal safety distance} two players can keep at all times while traversing a graph. Moreover, their moves must be made with respect to certain move rules. For this purpose, we introduce different variants of a span of a given connected graph. All the variants model the maximum safety distance kept by two players in a graph traversal, where the players may only move with accordance to a specific set of rules, and their goal: visit either all vertices, or all edges. For each variant, we show that the solution can be obtained by considering only connected subgraphs of a graph product and the projections to the factors. We characterise graphs in which it is impossible to keep a positive safety distance at all moments in time. Finally, we present a polynomial time algorithm that determines the chosen span variant of a given graph

Inverse component cropping sequences and connected inverse limits over intervals

We give a characterization of inverse sequences with upper semicontinuous bonding functions fi:[0,1] ⊸ [0,1] for which the inverse limit of the inverse sequence with fi-1 as bonding functions is connected. As a byproduct, we obtain another characterization of connected inverse limits of inverse sequences with a single bonding function

Horská chata

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je návrh a projektová dokumentace, dvoupatrové chaty k pronájmu, s kapacitou 10 lůžek. Budova je situována v obci Pec pod Sněžkou v horské oblasti severního Česka. Z architektonického pohledu má budova za cíl vyčnívat její luxusním vzhledem popři využití přírodních materiálů jako dřevo, kámen a sklo, a tedy, respektující přírodní charakter prostředí. Z technického pohledu je budova navržena ze dřeva - Avanta systeme, s malým suterénem (technická místnost) a garáží pro 2 auta se stěnami z bednicích betonových tvarovek, rovnou střechou a pultovou střechou uprostřed objektu.The subject of this bachelor´s thesis is a design and project documentation of a two-floor chalet for rent capable to accommodate up to 10 people. The building is located in a town of a mountain area in the north of Czechia called Pec pod Sněžkou. From architectural point of view the building is intended to stand out by its luxurious appearance whilst using natural materials and finishes such as wood, stone and glass, thus respecting natural character of the surrounding. From structural point of view the building is designed as a wooden house – Avanta systeme, with a small basement (boiler room) and garage for 2 cars with concrete blocks walls, flat roof and sloped roof above a middle part of the building.

Programming with joystick

In this thesis, we implemented a way of programming by means of gaming accessories. The main reason is that to show a diferent way of developing programs, because vast majority of programers are using two input / output devices: keyboard and mouse. These two devices have become standard and will definitely remain so in the future. For our implementation, we used high-level programming language Java and NetBeans integrated development environment. The program is actually a plug-in (or module) through which you can start programming at the start of NetBeans editor. Our plug-in allows the development of simple programs in Java, which then can be compiled and executed. In addition to the plug-in, we briefy describe the programming language Java, NetBeans and other ways of visual programming

Assessment of the Slope Stability – Southern Slope of the R48 Cut at the Intersection with the Road from Dub to Vysoká and Remediation Design

Predmetom tejto diplomovej práce je posúdenie stability svahu zárezu rýchlostnej cesty R48 v mieste kríženia s cestou z Dubu na Vysokú a návrh vhodného sanačného opatrenia. Prvá časť práce sa zaoberá opisom príčin svahových pohybov, charakteristiky svahových pohybov podľa viacerých kritérií a rôznym spôsobom ich sanácie. Ďalšia časť opisuje záujmovú oblasť z hľadiska geomorfológie, geológie a hydrogeológie. Súčasťou je tiež opis územia a súčasného stavu svahu na základe terénnej pochôdzky. Na túto časť nadväzuje matematická analýza stability svahu riešená metódou konečných prvkov v programe Plaxis 2D. Ďalej boli navrhnuté variantné sanačné opatrenia, ktoré boli podľa modelových analýz navzájom porovnané a vyhodnotené.The subject of this diploma thesis is the assessment of the slope stability of the R48 road cut at the point of intersection with the road from Dub to Vysoká and the design of an effective remediation. The first part of the work is devoted to the description of the causes of slope movements, the characteristics of slope movements according to several criteria and different methods of their remediation. The next part describes the area of interest in terms of geomorphology, geology and hydrogeology. It also includes a description of the area and the current state of the slope based on a terrain walk. This part is followed by a mathematical analysis of slope stability solved by the finite element method in the Plaxis 2D program.
