Translation and Interpretation
Fragments of my linguistic history
This article, written in the first person, reconstructs some phases and some aspects of the author’s linguistic history, in order to clarify how the formation of linguistic competence and the emotional and affective relationship with language has influenced her posture and communicative style as a university teacher. The author addresses issues such as the Italian-dialect relationship, her privileged relationship with the written word compared to the oral one and her university philosophical training. She intends to show that it was the maturation of a conscious relationship with language that led her to develop what she calls “quasi-rules” for teaching
Through the commentary on portraits (Lotto, Giorgione, Vermeer, L. Freud, Rembrandt, Tiziano, Bacon…), my contribution will develop two topics. In fact, the portrait calls to reflect both on the reversible dynamics of the gaze (between painter, subject and spectator, between presence and absence) and on the time of the individual as an experience and as a transformative process that tells a story
traduzione come conoscenza e rienunciazione
This article is divided in two parts. It first presents a philosophical conception of translation. From a philosophical standpoint, translation may be considered in a broad sense as a process of symbolic transformation endowed with a cognitive value. Translation establishes multi-level relationships. At the semantic level, translation deals with relationships between meanings; at the epistemological level, it deals with relationships between concepts and theories; at the philosophical and ontological level, it brings into play relationships between subjects and cultures. The second part of the article contrasts a semantic conception of translation as recoding of messages with a conception of translation as a re-enunciation of texts. When translating an essayistic text, attention must be paid not to a simple message, but to the conditions of enunciation, to the reference established by the text, to the speech acts realized in statements, to the co-textual and con-textual circumstances
Past and the Others
This essay refers to anthropological and ethnographic literature concerning the relationship between anthropology and history. Ethnographic and iconographic examples are analyzed in order to highlight problems related to the representations of the past in different cultures
Fulvio Papi lettore di poesia
My paper analyzes Fulvio Papi’s essays on poetry. First of all, I consider his reflecting and theoretical essays concerning the forms of philosophical questioning of poetry as a writing practice. I then examine his 2009 essay on Antonia Pozzi’s poetic production. Papi shows how the poet’s vital experience is transfigured in the compositional and enunciative rules of the text
