Differentially Private All-Pairs Shortest Distances for Low Tree-Width Graphs
In this paper, we present a polynomial time algorithm for the problem of
differentially private all pair shortest distances over the class of low
tree-width graphs. Our result generalizes the result of Sealfon 2016 for the
case of trees to a much larger family of graphs. Furthermore, if we restrict to
the class of low tree-width graphs, the additive error of our algorithm is
significantly smaller than that of the best known algorithm for this problem,
proposed by Chen et. al. 2023
Relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior in critical and emergency nurses in south east of Iran
Background: Several factors including emotional intelligence affect the efficiency of people. It seems that organizational behavior of each person is strongly influenced by emotional intelligence. Therefore, the present study is aimed to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior in critical and emergency nurses in teaching hospitals supervised by Kerman Medical University in Southeast of Iran. Methods: This study employed a descriptive cross sectional design. A census sample consisted of 150 critical and emergency nurses working in teaching hospitals supervised by Kerman Medical University participated in this study. Emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior questionnaire was used to assess nursesâ emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior by available sampling method. Results: The results showed that the mean age of the participants was 35 years. Most participants (94%) were females and belonged to the age group of 26-30 years. Overall mean score of organizational citizenship behavior scale was 88.21 (±10.4). In the organizational citizenship behavior categories, altruism mean score was higher than the other mean scores. Overall mean score of emotional intelligence was (121.08 ± 17.56). In the subgroups of emotional intelligence, mean score of the relationship management, was higher than the average of other factors. Pearson's correlation coefficient showed no significant relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior (p â„ 0.05).Conclusion: The study suggests that health care managers should organize systematic and dynamic policies and procedures in dealing with emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior to assist critical and emergency nurses. Keywords: Emotional intelligence, Oorganizational citizenship behavior, nurse, critical ward, emergency war
The Anatomical Position of Appendix in Iranian Cadavers
Background: Vermiform appendix is different in terms of anatomical position, length and mesoappendix. Knowing the anatomical position of vermiform appendix is important for the surgeons in terms of diagnosis and management. The aim of this study is analysis of length, anatomical position and mesoappendix of vermiform appendix. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study on the 400 randomly selected cadavers (306 male and 94 female) who have been referred to the autopsy hall of legal medicine organization of Tehran province to be autopsied between March 21, 2010 and March, 2011. The cause of death was very heterogeneous among autopsied cadavers. Results:According to our results the anatomical positions were pelvic, subcecal, retroileal, retrocaecal, ectopic and preileal in 55.8%, 19%, 12.5%, 7%, 4.2% and 1.5% respectively. The mean length of vermiform appendix was 91.2 mm and 80.3 mm in men and women, respectively. Mesoappendix was complete in 79.5% and incomplete in 20.5%. No association was seen between sex and anatomical position of vermiform appendix. Conclusion:Anterior anatomical position was the most frequent vermiform appendix position in our population which is in discrepancy with most of the reports from western countries. It might be possible that factors such as race, geographical regions and nutritional regiment play roles in determining the position of vermiform appendix

Quartic Anomalous Couplings in Colliders
We study the constraints on the vertices ,
, and that can be obtained from
triple-gauge-boson production at the next generation of linear
colliders operating in the mode. We analyze the processes
(, or ) and show that these reactions
increase the potential of machines to search for anomalous
four-gauge-boson interactions.Comment: 15 pages, Latex file using ReVteX, 4 uufiled figures include
Angiotensin enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers as protective factors in COVID-19 mortality: a retrospective cohort study
Targeting the renin-angiotensin system is proposed to affect mortality due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We aimed to compare the mortality rates in COVID-19 patients who received angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (ACEIs/ARBs) and those who did not. In this retrospective cohort study, mortality was considered as the main outcome measure. All underlying diseases were assessed by the chronic use of medications related to each condition. We defined two main groups based on the ACEIs/ARBs administration. A logistic regression model was designed to define independent predictors of mortality as well as a Cox regression analysis. In total, 2553 patients were included in this study. The mortality frequency was higher in patients with a history of underlying diseases (22.4 vs 12.7, P value < 0.001). The mortality rate in patients who received ACEIs/ARBs were higher than non-receivers (29.3 vs. 19.5, P value = 0.013, OR = 1.3, 95 CI 1.1, 1.7) in the univariate analysis. However, the use of ACEIs/ARBs was a protective factor against mortality in the model when adjusted for underlying conditions, length of stay, age, gender, and ICU admission (P value < 0.001, OR = 0.5, 95 CI 0.3, 0.7). The KaplanĂąïżœïżœMeier curve showed an overall survival of approximately 85.7 after a 120-day follow-up. ACEIs/ARBs are protective factors against mortality in COVID-19 patients with HTN, and these agents can be considered potential therapeutic options in this disease. The survival probability is higher in ACEIs/ARBs receivers than non-receivers. Ă© 2020, SocietĂ Italiana di Medicina Interna (SIMI)
Probing Anomalous Quartic Couplings in e-gamma and gamma-gamma Colliders
We analyze the potential of the e+e- Linear Colliders, operating in the
e-gamma and gamma-gamma modes, to probe anomalous quartic vector--boson
interactions through the multiple production of W's and Z's. We examine all
chiral operators of order p^4 that lead to new
four--gauge--boson interactions but do not alter trilinear vertices. We show
that the e-gamma and gamma-gamma modes are able not only to establish the
existence of a strongly interacting symmetry breaking sector but also to probe
for anomalous quartic couplings of the order of 10^{-2} at 90% CL. Moreover,
the information gathered in the e-gamma mode can be used to reduced the
ambiguities of the e+e- mode.Comment: Revtex, 18 pages, 6 figure
Inhibitory Control Across the Preschool Years: Developmental Changes and Associations with Parenting
The normative developmental course of inhibitory control between 2.5 and 6.5 years, and associations with maternal and paternal sensitivity and intrusiveness were tested. The sample consisted of 383 children (52.5% boys). During four annual waves, mothers and fathers reported on their childrenâs inhibitory control using the Children\u27s Behavior Questionnaire. During the first wave, mothersâ and fathersâ sensitivity and intrusiveness were observed and coded with the Emotional Availability Scales. Inhibitory control exhibited partial scalar invariance over time, and increased in a decelerating rate. For both mothers and fathers, higher levels of sensitivity were associated with a higher initial level of children\u27s inhibitory control, whereas higher levels of intrusiveness predicted a slower increase in children\u27s inhibitory control
