    Evaluation of Chela Formation in Kambala-Livuite Area, Southern Block 0, Cabinda, Angola

    The abundance of good reservoir and source rocks offshore Cabinda, Angola, makes the area an attractive and successful hydrocarbon province. Block 0, offshore Cabinda, lies in the Lower Congo basin along the western coast of Africa. The stratigraphy of Block 0 consists of two major oil-rich sequences: the rift sequence (primarily lacustrine) and the post-rift sequence (primarily marine). These are separated by a thick section of evaporites, and thus are referred to as the pre-salt sequence and post-salt sequence, respectively. The Chela Formation, mid-Aptian in age, was deposited before the salt. It consists of sandstones and conglomerates locally interbedded with carbonates. It is the youngest unit of the pre-salt sequence. The top of the Chela Formation is gradational into the salt, whereas the base of the Chela unconformably overlies older pre-salt units. The regional pre-Chela unconformity corresponds to the break up unconformity developed as a direct response of Gondwanaland rifting that resulted in the opening of the South Atlantic Ocean and culminated with the separation of the South American and African continents. In this context, the Chela Formation represents an early post-rift transgressive unit that spans the transition from continental to marine conditions. The thickness of the Chela Formation in Block O is variable. This unit thickens westward from O to 305 m. Environments of deposition within the Chela Formation range from coastal non-marine to shallow-marine environments. The Chela Formation onshore Cabinda is a fining-upward sequence with coarse sandstone and conglomerate in the base grading to finer sandstone interbedded with mudstone. Offshore, the unit is represented by a sequence of very-fine to fine-grained sandstone, grading to siltstone, and locally interbedded with dolomitic carbonates. Sediment in the Chela Formation has a continental-block provenance, evidence that Chela detritus was supplied from an external granitic source on the southern African continent. Although no commercial accumulations of hydrocarbons have been found offshore in the Chela sandstones to date, the unit represents a potential reservoir because of hydrocarbons log porosities between 15 and 30 porosity units, the presence of hydrocarbon shows onshore, and an excellent overlying seal of thick salt

    The Dys-appearing Fat Body: Bodily Intensities and Fatphobic Sociomaterialities when Flying Whilst Fat

    This paper offers an exploration of the embodied experiences of flying whilst fat, based on research with a significantly larger group of people than any previous research on this topic (795 surveys and 28 interviews with fat people largely, though not exclusively from the USA). Theoretically, this paper advances geographical understandings of fat embodiment and the embodied experience of transport spaces which attend to micropolitical encounters and comfort (Bissell, 2016; 2008). In doing so, we develop an approach to understanding the hyperpresence of the fat body within plane space, drawing together Leder’s (1990) work on embodied ‘dys-appearance’ with Ahmed’s work on bodily intensities (2004) and queer phenomenology (2006). The paper explores how material and social aspects of plane space combine to make fat bodies hyperpresent in ways that, for some, limit self-advocacy. We set this in broader political and economic contexts which frame fatness as mutable and which govern access to air travel in ways that are exclusionary for many fat people

    Perencanaan Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR) sebagai Instalasi Pengolahan Greywater di Kecamatan Rungkut Kota Surabaya

    — Kecamatan Rungkut merupakan daerah yang mengalami perkembangan cukup pesat akibat berkembangnya sektor ekonomi. Perkembangan tersebut berimbas pada peningkatan jumlah penduduk yang berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan produksi air limbah domestik. Komposisi air limbah domestik sebesar 50-80% merupakan greywater. Sebagian besar masyarakat masih menyalurkan limbah greywater ke selokan yang berakibat pada pengendapan sludge sehingga mengurangi volume saluran serta pencemaran badan air ditandai dengan terjadinya peristiwa eutrofikasi. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan perencanaan instalasi pengolahan greywater di Kecamatan Rungkut. Pengolahan greywater yang direncanakan adalah unit Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR). Penggunaan ABR berdasarkan dengan pertimbangan kemudahan dalam operasional dan perawatan, aspek finansial serta ketersediaan lahan. Wilayah terlayani pada 3 kelurahan dengan penduduk terpadat yaitu Kelurahan Kedung Baruk, Penjaringan Sari, dan Rungkut Kidul. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, instalasi pengolahan greywater yang direncanakan berdimensi p x l x t sebesar 12,4 m x 2,3 m x 2,6 m. Biaya minimal yang dibutuhkan untuk membangun unit ABR adalah Rp. 142.000.000,- dan maksimal sebesar Rp. 149.000.000,- untuk tipikal pelayanan 100 KK. Biaya pembangunan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh lokasi peletakan yaitu di jalan atau lahan kosong

    Seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi, serangan terjadi pada industri photography di mana banyak penyalahgunaan foto yang memiliki hak cipta tanpa seijin pemilik foto tersebut. Karena itulah dibuat sebuah aplikasi yang berfungsi untuk menyisipkan watermark dengan menggunakan metode DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform). Metode tersebut adalah metode matematika yang sering digunakan dalam bidang elektronika dan komputer. Metode ini secara khusus digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang berhubungan dengan frekuensi, sehingga metode ini dapat digunakan dalam bidang citra digital. Metode ini diterapkan untuk melakukan penyisipan dan ekstraksi watermark pada citra penampung. Watermark tersebut disisipkan kedalam frekuensi domain pada gambar dan akan menghasilkan output citra ber-watermark atau embeded image. Hal ini adalah untuk mencegah penyalahgunaan hak cipta, namun watermark tersebut tidak nampak secara fisik. Hal ini dilakukan selain memberikan jaminan keamanan terhadap gambar, tapi juga tidak mengurangi estetika pada gambar tersebut. Analisa yang dilakukan adalah tingkat keberhasilan proses insertion dan extraction, serangan pada citra, uji kemiripan dengan pengujian NPCR (Number of Pixel of Change Rate), UACI (Unified Averaged Changed Intensity), dan PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) pada proses insertion dan extraction. DFT disimpulkan aman terhadap serangan berupa cropping, resize, dan editing. Selain itu, dihasilkan nilai presentase Perubahan yang rendah pada pengujian NPCR & UACI dan nilai yang tinggi pada pengujian PSNR

    Seiring perkembangan teknologi komunikasi yang sangat pesat mendorong berkembangnya sosial media atau sering disebut forum diskusi online. Dengan adanya forum diskusi online banyak dimanfaatkan oleh komunitas – komunitas untuk saling berbagi informasi secara online. Melalui komunitas online seseorang dapat saling berbagi pengalaman dan informasi mengenai topik yang sedang dibahas tanpa harus saling bertatap muka atau tanpa harus ketemu secara langsung. Di Kota Malang saja terdapat ratusan komunitas yang ada dari berbagai macam hobi dan mulai dari anak muda sampai orang tua banyak yang bergabung dengan komunitas yang sesuai kesenangan masing – masing. Dengan adanya komunitas tak jarang juga orang yang masih kebingungan dalam mencari informasi mengenai komunitas yang sesuai dengan hobinya. Oleh karena itu muncul ide untuk membuat website sistem informasi yang digunakan sebagai wadah dari seluruh komunitas yang ada di kota ini.     Mobile Air Quality Studies (MAQS) - an international project

    Due to an increasing awareness of the potential hazardousness of air pollutants, new laws, rules and guidelines have recently been implemented globally. In this respect, numerous studies have addressed traffic-related exposure to particulate matter using stationary technology so far. By contrast, only few studies used the advanced technology of mobile exposure analysis. The Mobile Air Quality Study (MAQS) addresses the issue of air pollutant exposure by combining advanced high-granularity spatial-temporal analysis with vehicle-mounted, person-mounted and roadside sensors. The MAQS-platform will be used by international collaborators in order 1) to assess air pollutant exposure in relation to road structure, 2) to assess air pollutant exposure in relation to traffic density, 3) to assess air pollutant exposure in relation to weather conditions, 4) to compare exposure within vehicles between front and back seat (children) positions, and 5) to evaluate "traffic zone"- exposure in relation to non-"traffic zone"-exposure. Primarily, the MAQS-platform will focus on particulate matter.     A abordagem de classificação baseada em objetos representa um novo paradigma no processamento de imagens de altas resoluções espaciais, espectrais e temporais, e a construção de objetos baseia-se na segmentação das imagens. A análise de imagens baseada em objetos (GEOBIA - Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis) apresenta métodos capazes de explorar, além de atributos espectrais, elementos como textura, forma ou contexto. Existem aplicações que buscam melhorar o desempenho computacional com soluções sequenciais e distribuídas, ou programas como TerraView que abordam o uso de sistemas gerenciadores de banco de dados. Este trabalho propõe explorar especificações de aplicações para integrar o Sistema Gerenciador de Banco de Dados (SGBD) PostgreSQL/PostGIS e o classificador Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) do InterIMAGE Desktop para processamento de grandes imagens orbitais. O método apresentado é expansível no uso da biblioteca TerraLib 5, com linguagem de programação C++. Os experimentos realizados com as representações matriciais (raster) indicaram a viabilidade das aplicações e podem se consolidar sob a forma de processos de armazenamento e processamento da segmentação no SGBD

    Percepção de estudantes de psicologia sobre a informática em sua formação profissional

    Neste artigo analisa-se uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, cujo objetivo era explorar a percepção de 45 alunos de psicologia de diferentes universidades da cidade de Santiago do Chile, sobre a incorporação da informática como apoio para a aprendizagem em sua formação profissional. A informação foi coletada através de entrevistas semiestruturadas e analisou-se mediante o processo de codificação da Teoría Fundamentada. Os resultados mostram como categorias principais, o conhecimento da informática, a valoração da informática, e os fatores que obstaculizam o uso desta. Da codificação seletiva se desprende uma alta valoração da informática como ferramenta econômica e cômoda, mas também se observa uma alta reticência dos alunos diante de sua utilização no trabalho profissional tradicional do psicólogo. Encontraram-se fatores pessoais e institucionais nos que se baseia a valoração, a motivação e o nível de conhecimento dos estudantes diante do uso de ferramentas informáticas.This paper analyses a qualitative research aimed to exploring the perception of 45 psychology students from different universities in Santiago de Chile, about incorporating information systems to support learning in their professional training. Data were collected through semi structured interviews and their analysis was based on Grounded Theory's coding process. Results show that the major categories are computer knowledge, appreciation of computers and factors that hinder their use. From the selective coding a positive evaluation emerges of information systems as an economic and useful tool. However, there is also a high reluctance on the part of the students regarding the use of such tools in the psychologist' traditional professional work. Personal and organizational factors were found as bases for students' assessment, motivation and level of knowledge facing the use of these tools.En este artículo se analiza una investigación de naturaleza cualitativa, cuyo objetivo era explorar la percepción de 45 alumnos de psicología de diferentes universidades de la ciudad de Santiago de Chile, sobre la incorporación de la informática como apoyo para el aprendizaje en su formación profesional. La información se recolectó a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas y se analizó mediante el proceso de codificación de la Teoría Fundamentada. Los resultados muestran como categorías principales, el conocimiento de la informática, la valoración de la informática, y los factores que obstaculizan el uso de ésta. De la codificación selectiva se desprende una alta valoración de la informática como herramienta económica y cómoda, pero también se observa una alta reticencia de los alumnos frente a su utilización en el trabajo profesional tradicional del psicólogo.     Immunology of multiple sclerosis

    Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS) leading to demyelination, axonal damage, and progressive neurologic disability. The development of MS is influenced by environmental factors, particularly the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and genetic factors, which include specific HLA types, particularly DRB1*1501-DQA1*0102-DQB1*0602, and a predisposition to autoimmunity in general. MS patients have increased circulating T-cell and antibody reactivity to myelin proteins and gangliosides. It is proposed that the role of EBV is to infect autoreactive B cells that then seed the CNS and promote the survival of autoreactive T cells there. It is also proposed that the clinical attacks of relapsing-remitting MS are orchestrated by myelin-reactive T cells entering the white matter of the CNS from the blood, and that the progressive disability in primary and secondary progressive MS is caused by the action of autoantibodies produced in the CNS by ­meningeal lymphoid follicles with germinal centers
