The Ultrastructure of the Corpus Luteum of the Goat

    Get PDF
The ultra structure of luteal cells and the proportion of the different cell types in the functional corpus luteum of the goat were studied using the electron microscope. Two luteal cell types, large and small, were present in the corpus luteum of this species. The large more rounded luteal cell possessed numerous mitochondria and electron dense membrane- bound granules, extensive agranular endoplasmic reticulum and granular endoplasmic reticulum which at times appeared as stacks of closely packed cisternae. Few lipid droplets were present iri the luteal cell cytoplasma while whorled agranular endoplasmic reticulum was absent. Interspersed amongst the large luteal cells were smaller luteal cells with tapering cytoplasmic processes. These cells differed from the large luteal cells in that they possessed fewer mitochondria and electron dense membrane- bound granules. Occasional nuclei of the small luteal cells contained cytoplasmic inclusion bodies

One of abnormal conditions that may happen when operating synchronous generator is overheating at armature winding. Therefore, this condition is needed to overcome to avoid further damage in the generator by designing and implementing smart relay based overheating protection. Temperature at armature winding is as an input of the smart relay where it was measured by using LM35DZ sensor. Magnetic contactor was used as switch, where it will open when the temperature higher then setting value. The overheat protection design was implemented successfully where it can trip (disconnect generator from the system by opening magnetic contactor) when the armature winding temperature is higher than 60° C

Action learning model Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) succesed to increase the value of the seventh grade student of SMP Negeri 8 Pontianak in learning the art of dance student' average score increased by 21.38

Properties of Polyurethane Foam/Coconut Coir Fiber as a Core Material and as a Sandwich Composites Component

    Get PDF
This research focuses on the fabrication and characterization of the sandwich composites panel using glass fiber composite skin and polyurethane foam reinforced coconut coir fiber core. The main objectives are to characterize the physical and mechanical properties and to elucidate the effect of coconut coir fibers in polyurethane foam cores and sandwich composites panel. Coconut coir fibers were used as reinforcement in polyurethane foams in which later were applied as the core in sandwich composites ranged from 5 wt% to 20 wt%. The physical and mechanical properties found to be significant at 5 wt% coconut coir fiber in polyurethane foam cores as well as in sandwich composites. It was found that composites properties serve better in sandwich composites construction

Characterization of erbium doped photonic crystal fiber

Photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) are a new emerging research area, and have been undergoing rapid development in recent years due to their unique and excellent optical properties and features. Studies on the characteristics of various types of PCFs have been reported. However, characterization on erbium-doped PCF has not previously been investigated. Therefore, in this paper, we have modeled an erbium-doped core PCF which has 7 rings of hexagonal air holes. The PCF structure, with a perfectly matched layer (PML), is modeled and simulated using Finite Element Method (FEM) via COMSOL software. The PML is optimized by varying the radius and thickness of the layer. Modal properties of the PCF have been investigated in terms of its effective index of the supported fundamental mode, confinement loss and thickness of the perfectly matched layer. This erbium-doped PCF has a confinement loss of 1.0E-6 at 1500 nm and a maximum effective refractive index of 1.476. This paper gathers useful data, which could be used for studying the characteristics of a PCF

Window-based channel impulse response prediction for time-varying ultra-wideband channels

    Get PDF
This work proposes channel impulse response (CIR) prediction for time-varying ultra-wideband (UWB) channels by exploiting the fast movement of channel taps within delay bins. Considering the sparsity of UWB channels, we introduce a window-based CIR (WB-CIR) to approximate the high temporal resolutions of UWB channels. A recursive least square (RLS) algorithm is adopted to predict the time evolution of the WB-CIR. For predicting the future WB-CIR tap of window wk, three RLS filter coefficients are computed from the observed WB-CIRs of the left wk-1, the current wk and the right wk+1 windows. The filter coefficient with the lowest RLS error is used to predict the future WB-CIR tap. To evaluate our proposed prediction method, UWB CIRs are collected through measurement campaigns in outdoor environments considering line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) scenarios. Under similar computational complexity, our proposed method provides an improvement in prediction errors of approximately 80% for LOS and 63% for NLOS scenarios compared with a conventional method

This research aims to produce the software of Sentence Scramble Game (SSG)as a syntax learning media for deaf children. Learning syntax includes the discussionabout sentence structures and functional orders. The method employed in this studyis research and development (R & D) adopting the model development of Borg & Gall, which covers ten steps simplified into six steps, namely: 1) analysis, 2) design, 3)development, 4) expert validation, 5) testing, and 6) disseminations. The subjects inthis research were 7 students of Karnamanohara Type B Special School. The methodsof data collection are direct observation, interview and questionnaires. The data wereanalyzed by descriptively and qualitatively. The results of this research show thatSentence Scramble Games (SSG) are eligible, proven by the results of the materialvalidation test with good category (4.0) and the media expert's trial results with verygood category (4.2). The assessment of the feasibility of the media is also supportedby the trial results of three persons with excellent categories (4.1). A large scale trialby seven people results in the excellent category (4.6)

The purpose of this research is to determine the pattern of the economy, the advanced sector/subsector on each district, and determining the growth center on the Madura Island. The analysis tools that are used in this research are Typology Klassen, Location Quotient (LQ), and analysis of gravity. The research concluded there are four (4) patterns of economic growth on four districts in the Madura Island. An area that "fast advance and grow" is Bangkalan, “the advanced but depressed" is Sumenep, the "growing fast" is Pamekasan, and the "relatively low" is district Sampan

Effects Of Anthropogenic Activity On Stream Water Quality In Langsa, Aceh

Increased human activity towards the water bodies will change the condition of water quality. Case study in Langsa, Aceh, It was found that an increase in Some physical parameter (TSS) that exceeds the value determined in PP 82 of 2001 (Indonesian government standard). The high value of TSS in Station 2 and Station 3 indicates that the sediment loading to the water body is high, especially in Station 3, where the TSS concentrations far exceed the standard. Activity of type C surface mining materials tends to affect the brightness, turbidity, depth and TSS. Water conditions with low pH were also found in this study. In location studied no EPT larvae were foun
