The complications of neurogenic bladder which follows spinal cord injury include urinary infections, sepsis, hydronephrosis, urinary tract stones, structural deterioration of bladder and bladder cancers. If the care and treatment intended to prevent these complications are not performed, the quality of life and environmental and social compliance of the patient are declined, and it can result with serious mortality and morbidity. Therefore, rehabilitation of neurogenic bladder should begin immediately after the injury in individuals with spinal cord injury, the patient and his family should be informed and educated adequately and the patient should be followed up for a lifetime. With proper management, urinary continence can be safely achieved and renal deterioration can be effectively prevented. Pacjent oraz jego rodzina powinni zostać poinformowani i odpowiednio przeszkoleni. Pacjent powinien być monitorowany przez całe jego życie. Characteristic Mode Analysis of Unit Cells of Metal-Only Infinite Arrays

Characteristic mode analysis of metal only unit cells of periodic structures is performed using Method of Moments based formulation. Ewald's transformation is incorporated for a fast and cost efficient solution and the advantages over spatial Green's function are discussed. The influence of the unit cell size on the characteristic modes is demonstrated. Various metal-only reflectarray elements are compared and their radiation characteristics are interpreted using the theory of characteristic modes. It is shown that characteristic modes of the unit cell can help us to understand the radiation and scattering behavior of the unit cell and this physical insight can be used in periodic array unit cell design

Stan odżywienia pacjentów Neurochirurgicznego Oddziału Intensywnej Opieki Medycznej

Neurosurgical patients present important metabolic alterations that trigger increased energy and protein expenditure. The clinical condition in neuro patients associated with the use of sedatives, steroids, barbiturates and muscle-relaxing drugs postpones the use of nutrients in these patients and, thus, complications, including infection and longer hospitalization, may occur. Weight loss, negative nitrogen balance and immune dysfunction constitute a characteristic response in neurosurgical patients. There is a strong relationship between adequate nutritional status and recovery from critical illness. Improved nutritional status is associated with positive clinical outcomes. The health care team, nurses in particular, play a major role in the management and maintenance of an optimal nutritional status in patients who are in the neurosurgical clinic. This compilation aims at highlighting the fact that inadequate nutrition is a serious problem which increases incidence of morbidity and mortality especially in neurosurgical patients. The article also emphasises the importance of nursing assessment. Utrata masy ciała, ujemny bilans azotu i dysfunkcja układu odpornościowego stanowią charakterystyczną odpowiedź u pacjentów neurochirurgicznych. Istnieje silny związek pomiędzy odpowiednim stanem odżywienia i regeneracją po chorobie krytycznej. Dobry stan odżywienia jest związany z pozytywnymi wynikami klinicznymi. Zespół opieki zdrowotnej, w szczególności pielęgniarki, odgrywają ważną rolę w utrzymaniu optymalnego stanu odżywienia u pacjentów neurochirurgicznych. Przegląd ten ma na celu podkreślenie, że przeciętny stan odżywienia jest poważnym problemem w kontekście zwiększonej zachorowalności i śmiertelności, zwłaszcza u pacjentów neurochirurgicznych. Nurettin Topçu Düşüncesinin Mustafa Kutlu Hikayelerindeki Yansımaları

Nurettin Topçu, Batı eğitimi almış fakat kendi medeniyet dairesinden kopmayarak düşüncesini spiritüalist yaklaşımıyla geliştirmiş, Türkiye’nin önemli filozoflarından birisidir. Felsefesinde birçok sistemle, filozofla, sanat kuramlarıyla etkileşime girmiş ve düşüncesini zenginleştirmiş velûd düşünür, bu etkileşimi kendi felsefesinin potasında eriterek özgünleştirmiştir. Düşüncesinin özgün boyutlarının başat özelliği; Türk-İslam sentezinden kopmadan, felsefesini İslamî çizgiyle ve tasavvufî yorumla birleştirmektir. Topçu’nun geride bıraktığı külliyatı; felsefî alandaki düşüncelerini ele aldığı, ülkenin içtimaî meselelerine değindiği ve çözüm önerilerinde bulunduğu, kendi zamanını da aşarak “Yarınki Türkiye ”ye dair telakkilerinden tahayyüllerinden bahsettiği, başka disiplinleri de düşüncesine dâhil edip fikir ürettiği, zengin değerlere sahip mümbit kitaplar bütünüdür. İlk bölümde Topçu düşüncesine derk olma gerekliliğinden; Nurettin Topçu düşüncesinin ana hatlarından bahsettik. İkinci bölümde, birinci bölümün menfeziyle, Kutlu hikâyelerindeki Topçu düşüncesinin etkilerini saptadık. Bu etkilerin, Kutlu külliyatında hangi alanlarda, hikâyelerde, boyutlarda olduğuna da tafsilatıyla yer verdik. Effects of traumatic birth experience and transmission intergenerationalTravmatik doğum deneyiminin etkileri ve nesiller arası aktarımı

The birth is an individual and also important expression for women life. This experience can be perceived in a different way by each woman that can be defined by different feelings such as positive, negative or mixed. Some women perceive birth experience as a traumatic event. Traumatically perceived birth is considered an event that may trigger Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) reaction. It is stated that traumatic birth experience may cause permanent or long-term negative consequences in women's life, may negatively affect future health, subsequent birth experiences and family relations. It is reported that birth is part of the continuity from past to future and the effects are not limited to the woman giving birth, but also that the subsequent generations, and even the other women around it, can influence the birth perceptions and experiences. There are many studies shows that the effects of traumatic events are transmitted to the next generation. This genetic transmission suggests that traumatic birth is a serious problem not only affecting the women who will give birth to nowadays but also having long-term consequences. From today's women to future generations, obstetrics and gynecology nurses have important responsibilities to prevent of reaching traumatic experience of birth, is a natural part of women's life. Bazı kadınlar ise doğum deneyimini travmatik bir olay olarak algılayabilmektedir. Travmatik olarak algılanan doğum, Posttravmatik Stres Bozukluğu (PTSB) reaksiyonunu tetikleyebilecek bir olay olarak kabul edilmektedir. Travmatik doğum deneyiminin kadının hayatında kalıcı veya uzun vadeli olumsuz sonuçlar doğurabileceği, gelecekteki sağlığını, sonraki doğum deneyimlerini ve aile içi ilişkilerini olumsuz etkileyebileceği belirtilmektedir. Doğumun geçmişten geleceğe giden devamlılığın bir parçası olduğu belirtilmekte ve etkilerinin doğum yapan kadınla sınırlı kalmayıp, onunla birlikte çevresindeki diğer kadınların ve hatta sonraki nesillerin doğum algılarını ve deneyimlerini de etkileyebildiği bildirilmektedir. Fever negatively affects the recovery of the brain following neurosurgical operation and prolongs the length of stay in the neurosurgery intensive care unit. Accordingly, it is necessary to deliver nursing care as indicated by the evidence regarding the management of fever in neurosurgical patients. The management of body temperature requires teamwork. Each healthcare professional in the team should select appropriate cooling methods, provide an acceptable cooling rate, manage shivering, and monitor the patient closely, with a multidisciplinary perspective. In this context, the present article discusses the causes of fever, its incidence, treatment and care practices for neurosurgical patients and proposes evidence-based recommendations for practice upon the review of the international guidelines. (JNNN 2020;9(2):80–85)Gorączka negatywnie wpływa na regenerację mózgu po operacji neurochirurgicznej i przedłuża pobyt pacjenta na oddziale intensywnej terapii neurochirurgicznej. Z tego powodu konieczne jest zapewnienie opieki pielęgniarskiej zgodnej z zasadami postępowania w przypadku pacjentów neurochirurgicznych z długotrwałą gorączką. Kontrola temperatury ciała pacjenta to praca zespołowa. Każdy pracownik służby zdrowia w tym zespole powinien dobrać odpowiednie dla pacjenta metody chłodzenia ciała, zapewnić odpowiednią szybkość chłodzenia, kontrolować drżenia ciała i uważnie monitorować pacjenta z wielodyscyplinarnej perspektywy. W tym kontekście w artykule omówiono przyczyny gorączki, jej objawy oraz praktyki leczenia i opieki nad pacjentami neurochirurgicznymi, w oparciu o międzynarodowe wytyczne i zalecenia dotyczące praktyki pielęgniarskiej. Cytotoxic activity and docking studies of 2-arenoxybenzaldehyde N-acyl hydrazone and 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives against various cancer cell lines

To understand whether previously synthesized novel hydrazone and oxadiazole derivatives have promising anticancer effects, docking studies and in vitro toxicity assays were performed on A-549, MDA-MB-231, and PC-3 cell lines. The antiproliferative properties of the compounds were investigated using molecular docking experiments. Each compound's best-docked poses, binding affinity, and receptor-ligand interaction were evaluated. Compounds' molecular weights, logPs, TPSAs, abilities to pass the blood-brain barrier, GI absorption qualities, and CYPP450 inhibition have been given. When the activities of these molecules were examined in vitro, for the A-549 cell line, hydrazone 1e had the minimum IC50 value of 13.39 mu M. For the MDA-MB-231 cell line, oxadiazole 2l demonstrated the lowest IC50 value, with 22.73 mu M. For PC-3, hydrazone 1d showed the lowest C50 value of 9.38 mu M. The three most promising compounds were determined as compounds 1e, 1d, and 2a based on their minimum IC50 values, and an additional scratch assay was performed for A-549 and MDA-MB-231 cells, which have high migration capacity, for the three most potent molecules; it was determined that these molecules did not show a significant antimetastatic effect

Ortaca (Muğla) Yöresinde Halk Arasında Kullanılan Bazı Bitkiler

Bu çalışma, 2015–2016 yılları arasında, Ortaca (Muğla) ilçesinde halk arasında kullanılan bazı bitkileri tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma alanından doğal olarak yetişen 28 familyaya ait 38 taksonun halk tarafından kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan 23’ü tıbbi, 19’u yiyecek, 3’u baharat, 3’ü süs, 2’si yem, 2’si dini, 2’si diğer (kaşık yapımı, tarım ilacı yapımı) amaçlarla kullanılmaktadır. Yöre halkının bu bitkilerden bazen sadece bir amaçla bazen de birkaç değişik amaçla yararlandığı tespit edilmiştir

Investigation of the relationship between emotional intelligence levels and social appearance anxiety levels of adolescents

Bu çalışmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinin duygusal zeka düzeyleri ile sosyal görünüş kaygı düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırmaya 124 (%21,9) erkek ve 442 (%78,1) kız olmak üzere toplam 566 lise öğrencisi gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Kişisel bilgi formu, Kayıhan ve Arslan (2011) tarafından Türkçe uyarlaması yapılan Duygusal Zeka Ölçeği ve Doğan (2011) tarafından Türkçe uyarlaması yapılan Ergenlerde Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği kullanılarak veriler toplanmıştır. Bu araştırma nicel araştırma desenlerinden betimsel araştırma modelinde kurgulanmış bir tarama araştırmasıdır. Veri analizinde sayılar, yüzdelikler, en az ve en çok değerler ile ortalama ve standart sapmaların yanı sıra ikili grupların karşılaştırılmasında bağımsız gruplarda t testi ve varyans analizi; değişkenler arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesinde ise Pearson korelasyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, eğitim görülen yer değişkeni doğrultusunda duygusal zeka toplam puanı ve alt boyutlarından duygusal kolaylaştırma ve duygusal düzenleme düzeyinde anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Aile ilişkileri ve anne baba tutumu değerlendirmesi değişkenleri doğrultusunda duygusal zeka toplam puanı ve alt boyutları arasında farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Eğitim görülen yer, cinsiyet, sınıf, aile ilişkileri değerlendirmesi ve anne baba tutumunun değerlendirmesine göre ergenlerin sosyal görünüş kaygı düzeyleri istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır. Aynı zamanda duygusal tanıma/anlama alt boyut puanı ile ergenlerde sosyal görünüş kaygısı ölçek puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır. Duygusal kolaylaştırma alt boyut, duygusal düzenleme alt boyut ve duygusal zeka ölçeği toplam puanları ile ergenlerde sosyal görünüş kaygısı ölçek puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı, negatif yönlü ve düşük düzeyli bir ilişki bulunmuştur.The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the emotional intelligence levels of high school students and their social appearance anxiety levels. A total of 566 high school students, 124 (21.9%) male and 442 (78.1%) female, participated in the study voluntarily. Data were collected using the personal information form, the Emotional Intelligence Scale adapted to Turkish by Kayıhan and Arslan (2011), and the Adolescent Social Appearance Anxiety Scale adapted to Turkish by Doğan (2011). This research is a survey research designed in the descriptive research model, which is one of the quantitative research designs. In addition to numbers, percentages, minimum and maximum values, mean and standard deviations in data analysis, t-test and analysis of variance in independent groups in comparison of paired groups; Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between variables. As a result of the research, significant differences were found in the emotional facilitation and emotional regulation levels of emotional intelligence total score and sub-dimensions in line with the place of education variable. It was found that the difference between the emotional intelligence total score and its sub-dimensions was statistically significant in line with the variables of family relations and parental attitude evaluation. Social appearance anxiety levels of adolescents are statistically significant according to the place of education, gender, class, evaluation of family relations and parental attitude. At the same time, no statistically significant relationship was found between emotional recognition/understanding subdimension score and social appearance anxiety scale scores in adolescents. A statistically significant, negative and low-level relationship was found between emotional facilitation sub-dimension, emotional regulation sub-dimension and emotional intelligence scale total scores and adolescents' social appearance anxiety scale scores
