The Urban-rural Dichotomy in the Indonesian Documentaries Nona Nyonya? and Untuk Apa?

The media play a pivotal role in the democratization process in Indonesia and this is among others apparent in the surge of films, both fiction and documentaries that have been produced after the end Suharto\u27s decades of control over the media. It is important to note, however, that compared with fiction films, the documentary genre remains rather unpopular in Indonesia. Indonesian documentary films struggle to depict stories of the subaltern and those living in the “periphery” in order for them to be seen and heard by the greater masses and by those in power – the ones in the “centre” or Jakarta. This paper discusses the connection between urban and rural voices and its impact in the documentary films Nona nyonya? (Miss mrs?, 2008) and Untuk apa? (What\u27s the point?, 2008) produced by Kalyana Shira Films, an organization well-known for its work on gender issues using film as medium. Departing from the notion that the film industry itself is still largely Jakarta-centred, this article focuses on the way urban settings and voices are used to create rhetoric, and the impact of the domination of these urban voices over the rural ones

Uniqueness of Viscosity Solutions for Optimal Multi-Modes Switching Problem with Risk of default

In this paper we study the optimal m-states switching problem in finite horizon as well as infinite horizon with risk of default. We allow the switching cost functionals and cost of default to be of polynomial growth and arbitrary. We show uniqueness of a solution for a system of m variational partial differential inequalities with inter-connected obstacles. This system is the deterministic version of the Verification Theorem of the Markovian optimal m-states switching problem with risk of default. This problem is connected with the valuation of a power plant in the energy market.Comment: 25 pages; Real options, Backward stochastic differential equations, Snell envelope, Stopping times, Switching, Viscosity solution of PDEs, Variational inequalities. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:0805.1306 and arXiv:0904.070

Abstract [The Effect of water content and material size on Organic Waste Composting at TPST Diponegoro University with Takakura Method]. Dried leaves are the most substantial waste compared to another type of waste at college activities. One effective method to avoid any potential problem caused by excessive amount of organic waste is composting. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of moisture content and material size on composting process and to determine the optimum moisture content and material size for composting. This study was conducted on laboratory scale for 30 days and composting process was implemented using the takakura method. Various moisture contents used in this study were 40%, 50%, and 60%. The material size has variety from 1 cm, 1,5 cm, and 2 cm. Molasses is fermented before it is used as a compost activator. Preliminary study conducted to observe the characteristic of raw materials of the compost and the molasses. Moisture content, temperature, and pH were measured daily. CNPK had been tested in the beginning and in the end of composting process. Toxicity test was performed to measure pathogenic bacterias contained in mature compost. The results showed that the optimum moisture content was 60% and the optimum material size was 1 cm. The optimum variables are determined by scoring. The optimum variables has the value of C/N ratio which is 16,531% at K1-60, Total-N which is 1,801% at K1-60, Total-P which is 0,112% at K1-60, Total-K which is 2,536% at K1-60, and GI value which is 109,6% at K1-60. The value of total coli test showed 24 MPN/gram which pointed that the mature compost had been produced from this research and free from pathogenic bacteria. In this paper, we study the existence of an optimal strategy for the stochastic control of diffusion in general case and a saddle-point for zero-sum stochastic differential games. The problem is formulated as an extended BSDE with logarithmic growth in the zz-variable and terminal value in some LpL^p space. We also show the existence and uniqueness of solution of this BSDE.Comment: 20 page

The purpose of this research is to develop a model based learning Environmental Education website for the technology area in Vocational High School (SMK) used by the teacher in delivering learning management environmental to be valid and effective. The type of this research is research development; the result of this research is produce a model based learning Environmental Education website by using three component products, namely: learning device, instrument, and the program's website (www. Asri-uncp.com) to measures the level of validity and effectiveness of the model. Environmental Education Model (PLH- Model) fulfills the Effective criteria of the process of student learning outcomes analyzed by using SPSS, in the first Trial PLH Model declared ineffective, judging from the results of student learning online where the mean score is 74.7 as a general score result graduation. if the KKM 70.0 refers to the value, and the maximum score with the highest value achieved by 88 students, and the lowest score is 50. The numbers of students who do not pass the test is 9students, and 44 students who have passed the test, so the percentage of the minimum number is 83.01%. If confirmed the standard of success in learning or mastery learning with the amount of 85% or (≤ 85%), it can be categorized insatiable for mastery learning outcomes. The second trial was declared effective by the maximum score obtained is 86. This is the highest score and the lowest score was 56. The numbers of students who do not pass the test were3 people and pass the test were 33, so that the percentage of the minimum number of 91.4 percent, if confirmed on mastery learning standards by 85% or (≥ 85%) it can be fulfills the completeness of criteria learning outcomes. Draft PLH Model development met the validity of all aspects assessed if: the theoretical aspects of supporting an average value of 3.5; sitaks aspect average value of 3.4; aspects of the social system of the average value of 3.5; principle aspects of the average value of 3.4; aspects of support systems 3.3; aspects of the instructional impact and impact Bridesmaids average value of 3.5; aspects of the implementation of online learning value average of 3.5; and aspects of the evaluation of the average value of 3.5.
