Making Substitutions Explicit in SASyLf

SASyLF is an interactive proof assistant whose goal is to teach: about type systems, language meta-theory, and writing proofs in general. This software tool stores user-specified languages and logics in the dependently-typed LF, and its internal proof structure closely resembles M2+ . This thesis describes a new usability feature of SASyLF, “where” clauses, which make explicit previously hidden substitutions that arise through constructs in the proof code, primarily case analyses. An overview of SASyLF and logical frameworks is given, with motivating examples. The requirements for “where” clauses are discussed, including a formal definition of correctness. The feature’s implementation in SASyLF is outlined, and future extensions are discussed

Function and behavior of CD8+ T cells in the skin

The subject of this thesis is the study of the function and behavior of CD8+ T cells that have exited the circulation and entered a tissue in order to get rid of an infection. In particular, the research focus on 1- how effector CD8+ T cells can localize infected cells within a tissue. 2-how, once the infection has been cleared, effector CD8+ T cells become memory T cells that take up permanent residence in the tissue; also, how the patrolling behavior that these cells acquire in the tissue allows quick control of local secondary infections. 3-how tissue-resident memory CD8+ T cells that have re-encountered a specific antigen can induce an increased level of local immune protection against infections.UBL - phd migration 201

Investigating the effect of belowground microbial volatiles on plant nutrient status: perspective and limitations

Volatile organic compounds displayed biological activities on a wide range of organisms, including plants and microbes. Investigating their role in the plant-microbe interaction processes occurring in the soil is challenging. By simulating belowground communication conditions between plant and microbes, in this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of the volatiles emitted by Serratia plymuthica and Fusarium culmorum on the nutrient status of maize plants. Plants were grown in potting soil and exposed to volatiles emitted by microbes inoculated in Petri dishes at the bottom of a jar. Nutrients content of plant tissues as well as soil volatiles were analyzed by ICP-MS and GC-MS, respectively. Our results showed that volatiles emitted belowground by Serratia plymuthica and Fusarium culmorum, in monoculture or interaction, differentially impacted on the content of some nutrient in plants, indicating that microbial volatiles-emitted belowground can affect the nutritional status of plants from a distance

RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA: A PARTICIPAÇÃO NUM PROJETO DE INICIAÇÃO CIENTÍFICA

A iniciação científica é como um processo no qual é fornecido o conjunto de conhecimentos indispensáveis para iniciar o jovem nos ritos, técnicas e tradições da ciência. Foram planejadas, durante o processo de iniciação científica atividades de educação em saúde que buscaram promover a alimentação saudável de portadores de Doenças Crônicas Não Transmissíveis (DCNT), tendo como ferramenta a educação alimentar e nutricional. Este artigo objetiva-se a relatar a experiência vivenciada em um projeto. Inicialmente, foram planejadas palestrascom intuito de apresentar às pessoas assuntos relacionados às DCNT: diabetes, hipertensão e obesidade. Posteriormente, foram criadas oficinas culinárias com o intuito de fornecer aos participantes do grupo alternativas para a elaboração de preparações com baixo teor de gordura e açúcar e alto teor de fibras, práticas de serem preparadas e com custo acessível. Por fim, durante o processo de iniciação científica, foram elaboradas um total de 25 Fichas Técnicas de Preparo de todas as preparações das oficinas culinárias. Concluiu-se que o estudante que participa de iniciação científica diferencia-se do estudante regular, pois tem a chance de se entender precocemente como a ciência pode ser utilizada em favor da promoção da saúde. Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial como Bien Común Global: genealogía de su tratamiento en la UNESCO

Este trabajo presenta un rastreo del tratamiento del concepto de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial (PCI) en la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO). Metodológicamente se procurará analizar genealógicamente las fuentes documentales vinculadas al tema, relevadas del repositorio en línea en la UNESCO. La recuperación de los antecedentes sobre el Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial puede contribuir a consolidar su consideración internacional protectora como bien común
