Diseño de una prueba diagnóstica en matemáticas para estudiantes que ingresan a primer semestre a la Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios-Sede Bogotá

El presente artículo da cuenta del proceso investigativo generado frente a la construcción e implementación de una prueba diagnóstica dirigida a los estudiantes que ingresan a primer semestre a UNIMINUTO con el ánimo de establecer su nivel de desempeño en el campo del pensamiento geométrico y variacional. El instrumento se construyó teniendo en cuenta otras pruebas ya validadas y soportadas en los niveles de Van Hiele, y en el manejo de la variable real, se aplicó con el apoyo de un ambiente en moodle a un total de 630 estudiantes pertenecientes a 11 programas. El desempeño de los estudiantes fue básico con mayor dificultad en el campo de la geometría y un mejor desempeño en el uso de la incógnita

Safeguarding Health at the Workplace: A Study of Work Engagement, Authenticity and Subjective Wellbeing among Religious Workers

: Research in work and organizational psychology has paid little attention to religious workers, something certainly surprising as faith-based organizations play a key role in the welfare state of many countries. This research shows that religious workers in a Catholic order present a high degree of subjective wellbeing, both in terms of flourishing and satisfaction with life in general, and a positive balance of positive and negative feelings. More specifically, this study examines the relationship between authenticity and wellbeing amongst religious workers. Survey responses from 142 religious workers in Spain were analyzed using partial least squares path modelling. The results reveal that subjective wellbeing at work is positively related to authenticity. In addition, this relationship is mediated by their level of work engagement

The space between and the origins of TEAM X

El presente texto busca definir la noción del Espacio Intermedio, central en la obra de los Smithson, y descubrir sus trazas en los orígenes del Team X –sus ramificaciones y antecedentes. A partir de dos textos de Alison y Peter Smithson, “The Space Between” (1974), y “Statement of problems regarded as central to architecture in the present situation” (1959), se rastrea este entendimiento multiescalar –de la escala doméstica a la escala infraestructural– que sirvió para dar forma a la nueva ciudad que emerge en los últimos CIAM y en la reuniones del Team X. El Espacio Intermedio aparece, de esta manera, como herramienta con la que redibujar el entorno de buena parte de la historia y de la cultura arquitectónica reciente y poder posicionarnos de manera más precisa en la creciente complejidad contemporánea.The present text aims to define the notion of The Space Between, central to the work of the Smithsons, and to disclose its traces until the origins of Team X –its branches and background. Analyzing two texts by Alison and Peter Smithson, “The Space Between” (1974), and “ Statement of problems regarded as central to architecture in the present situation” (1959), we study this multi–scale understanding –form domestic scale to the infrastructural scale– which was useful to shape the new city emerging in the last CIAM and Team X meetings. The Space Between appears, thus, as a tool to redraw much of the history and recent architectural culture, and to position ourselves within the growing contemporary complexity in a more precisely way

Photographic Image and cultural memory. The case of the Jews in the graphic press of the first half of the twentieth century

La fotografía juega un papel decisivo en la formación del imaginario colectivo y la memoria cultural. A través de las fotografías publicadas en la prensa gráfica se analizan los mecanismos de connotación de las imágenes para que estas puedan ser interpretadas por los lectores en claves de memoria cultural aplicada a un grupo humano concreto: lo judíos. Se analizan los mecanismos que visualizan y definen al grupo y el de los estereotipos que los definen en la memoria cultural occidental.Photography plays a decisive role in the formation of the collective imaginary and cultural memory. Through the photographs published in the graphic press, the mechanisms of connotation of the images so that they can be interpreted by the readers in cultural memory key applied to a specific group of people, the Jews, are analyzed. The mechanisms that visualize and defining the group, and the stereotypes that define them in Western cultural memory are analyzed
