La nueva ciudad de Valladolid prevista en el PGOU de 2004: del optimismo inmobiliario a la crisis

En el marco de esta materia se encaja este trabajo, concretamente en la planificación urbana y territorial a nivel municipal, que, en España, es donde recaen las mayores competencias de actuación directa. En un país en el que la planificación territorial ha tenido siempre vital importancia debido a sus peculiares características que lo diferencian de sus homólogos europeos entre las que se encuentran la complicada orografía, los rápidos cambios demográficos vividos y el hecho de ser uno de los destinos turísticos más demandados a nivel mundial, ha hecho que se hayan conocido numerosas políticas de intervención directa sobre el territorio con mayor o menor acierto pero que siempre han servido de precedente a actuaciones que han venido después. El actual modelo de competencias también con características propias hace que nos encontremos con un distinto marco legal según en qué parte del territorio nos hallemos y esto es algo que no se ha de olvidar, pues legislar desde la administración central poniendo de acuerdo a 17 territorios con ciertas autonomías y a nivel inferior a más de 8000 municipios, no es una tarea sencilla y por lo tanto necesita un estudio en profundidad.Departamento de GeografíaGrado en Geografía y Ordenación del Territori

Butterfly wing scales : pigmentation and structural properties

Butterfly wings have perhaps the most diverse coloration in the animal kingdom. They resemble pointillistic paintings where each point is formed by a coloured scale. A scale generally consists of two laminae connected by pillars. The lower lamina is rather flat and unstructured, but the upper lamina consists of densely spaced ridges, typically connected by crossribs. Incident light is scattered by the scale structures. The resulting scale’s colour is either determined by its structural organization or its pigmentation, or both. The colour of an intact butterfly wing is an even more complex phenomenon, because the scales are usually arranged in a system of distinct, partially overlapping rows of so-called cover and ground scales. The wing substrate has in general two scale layers at both the dorsal and the ventral side, and thus light reflected and transmitted by the five elements of the scale stack determines the wing colour. Scales of the family Pieridae are beset with pigment granules, or beads, that have a dual function: the pigments absorb light in the short wavelength range, depending on the type of pterin, and strongly scatter light outside the pigment absorption range. Those scale structures are not developed uniformly along the scale. Smooth and abrupt gradients from the base of the scale to the tip have been found in the beaded scales, with the consequent reflectance gradient. Experiments with manipulated overlapping scales show that this gradient has functional consequences for the wing reflectance of the stack and, hence, a reason arises.

A partir de la revisión de los diferentes tipos de conflictos que se dan dentro de la organización, el presente documento elabora una propuesta de resolución de conflictos. Esto, con el fin de minimizar el impacto de los mismos en el interior de la organización y de las relaciones que en la misma se dan. Para el desarrollo del mismo se propone primero validar la manera como se entienden las relaciones sociales al interior de la organización, para luego evaluar cómo se generan los conflictos al interior de la organización. Con base en estos, proponer alternativas de solución o reducción al interior de la organización

GEANT4 application for the simulation of the head of a siemens primus linac

The Monte Carlo simulation of the head of a Siemens Primus Linac used at Virgen Macarena Hospital (Sevilla, Spain) has been performed using the code GEANT4 [1-2], version 9.2. In this work, the main features of the application built by our group are presented. They are mainly focused in the optimization of the performance of the simulation. The geometry, including the water phantom, has been entirely wrapped by a shielding volume which discards all the particles escaping far away through its walls. With this, a factor of four in the time spent by the simulation can be saved. An interface to read and write phase-space files in IAEA format has been also developed to save CPU time in our simulations [3-4]. Finally, some calculations of the dose absorption in the water phantom have been done and compared with the results given by EGSnrc [5] and with experimental data obtained for the calibration of the machine

Analyzing Uncertainty in Complex Socio-Ecological Networks

Socio-ecological systems are recognized as complex adaptive systems whose multiple interactions might change as a response to external or internal changes. Due to its complexity, the behavior of the system is often uncertain. Bayesian networks provide a sound approach for handling complex domains endowed with uncertainty. The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of the Bayesian network structure on the uncertainty of the model, expressed as the Shannon entropy. In particular, three strategies for model structure have been followed: naive Bayes (NB), tree augmented network (TAN) and network with unrestricted structure (GSS). Using these network structures, two experiments are carried out: (1) the impact of the Bayesian network structure on the entropy of the model is assessed and (2) the entropy of the posterior distribution of the class variable obtained from the different structures is compared. The results show that GSS constantly outperforms both NB and TAN when it comes to evaluating the uncertainty of the entire model. On the other hand, NB and TAN yielded lower entropy values of the posterior distribution of the class variable, which makes them preferable when the goal is to carry out predictions

Diseño de un plan de marketing en la empresa Comunidad PH para aumentar su posicionamiento en la Ciudad de Pereira

El actual proyecto busca por medio de la investigación de conceptos teóricos y demás trabajos relacionados con la administración de propiedad horizontal, encontrar elementos que ayuden a identificar las estrategias que debe seguir COMUNIDAD PH para aumentar su posicionamiento en la ciudad de Pereira. Para encontrar estas estrategias, y lograr el cumplimiento de los objetivos de la investigación, se acude al uso de técnicas de mercadeo exploratorias y descriptivas, específicamente hablando de: encuestas y entrevistas. Con relación a los objetivos planteados se pretende que las estrategias utilizadas en la investigación permitan fortalecerá el plan de marketing que aumente el posicionamiento de COMUNIDAD PH en la ciudad de Pereira

Determination of the cosmic-ray-induced neutron flux and ambient dose equivalent at flight altitude

Journal of Physics: Conference Series, Volumen 630There is interest in modeling the atmosphere in the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly in order to obtain information about the cosmic-ray induced neutron spectrum and angular distribution as functions of altitude. In this work we use the Monte Carlo codes MCNPX and Geant4 to determine the cosmic-ray-induced neutron flux in the atmosphere produced by the cosmic ray protons incident on the top of the atmosphere and to estimate the ambient dose equivalent rate as function of altitude. The results present a reasonable conformity to other codes (QARM and EXPACS) based on other parameterizations

Implementación de una red Profibus DP en un sistema automatizado

Este trabajo propone el diseño y la implementación de una red de comunicación usando el protocolo Profibus DP en un sistema automatizado, además de la realización de una investigación acerca de dicho protocolo, dando como resultado la documentación teórica de su funcionamiento, con el fin de crear una herramienta de consulta pública referente al tema. Para tales propósitos se diseña una red de comunicación entre una maqueta didáctica para taladrado de piezas, y una estación de Control de Presión de aire comprimido, documentándose paso a paso el proceso
