Escape route simulator utilizing augmented reality

Due to increasing demand and interest in the interaction of technology platforms and integration of different types of systems and technologies, some tools are already providing practical ways to develop integrated applications. The tools explored by this article are Unity, a platform for game development, and Vuforia, an SDK, software development kit, for augmented reality creation. The coalition proposal of these resources is to create an intuitive escape route that can be used for the evacuation of buildings or open spaces in view of imminent danger, such as radiation leakage, and that can be accessed from a target available at the institution. It has also the intention of simulating situations that involve training of personnel in order to obtain methods that allow to save financial resources, and even to avoid that those who are involved are exposed to risks unnecessarily. The simulator is expected to help design, test, and improve ways to maintain the physical integrity of the facility and provide end users with a better sense of immersion and attractiveness

Análise dos determinantes da produção agropecuária do Rio Grande do Sul

A economia do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul tem no agronegócio uma importante matriz geradora de empregos e renda, na zona rural e urbana. O objetivo deste estudo é avaliar a relação existente entre os fatores de produção e o Valor Bruto da Produção dos estabelecimentos rurais. Essa análise pode se constituir como um dos pilares para o planejamento de políticas públicas voltadas à maximização do resultado econômico da produção agropecuária gaúcha. Para tanto, a partir dos dados do Censo Agropecuário 2006, estimou-se uma função de produção do tipo Cobb-Douglas. Entre os resultados encontrados, destaca-se que o capital existente no interior dos estabelecimentos rurais é a variável que explica a maior parte do Valor Bruto da Produção Agropecuária. Também foi possível observar que os retornos são decrescentes à escala e que a produtividade média dos fatores não é homogênea entre as microrregiões. Em função disso, o artigo aponta a necessidade de novas pesquisas e de políticas públicas capazes de contribuir com a modernização e o aumento da produtividade da agropecuária gaúcha. TÍTULO EM INGLÊS The agricultural production in Rio Grande do Sul: an econometric analysis Abstract The economy of the State of Rio Grande do Sul has in agribusiness an activity that drives the generation of jobs and income in rural and urban areas. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the factors of production and the Gross Production Value in rural establishments. This analysis may constitute one of the foundations for the planning of public policies aimed at maximizing the economic result of agricultural and livestock production in Rio Grande do Sul. In order to accomplish that, based on the 2006 Brazilian Census of Agriculture data, a Cobb-Douglas production function was estimated. Among the findings, it is noteworthy that the existing capital within the rural establishments is the variable that explains most of the Gross Value of Agriculture and Livestock Production. It was also possible to observe that the returns to scale are decreasing and that the average productivity of factors is not homogeneous among the microregions. As a result, the article points out the need for further research and public policies which contribute to the modernization and the increase in the productivity of agriculture and livestock in the State. ANÁLISE DOS PADRÕES TECNOLÓGICOS E DA CONCENTRAÇÃO ESPACIAL DA AGRICULTURA DE GRÃOS NO ESTADO DO MARANHÃO

A partir da análise multivariada, caracterizou-se os sistemas de produção agrícola do estado do Maranhão. Foram identificados dois fatores com relação ao uso de insumos modernos: a agricultura intensiva, localizada na microrregião Gerais de Balsas, onde o cultivo da soja se intensificou a partir dos anos 1990; e a agricultura semi-intensiva, presente nas demais microrregiões do estado, exclusive a Aglomeração Urbana de São Luís e Gerais de Balsas. A agricultura semi-intensiva contempla a agricultura tradicional e as novas fronteiras agrícolas do Maranhão, onde a sojicultura inicia seu processo de expansão. Ambos os sistemas utilizam práticas conservacionistas de uso do solo e de mitigação dos impactos ambientais

Determinantes dos investimentos diretos estrangeiros no Brasil, 1980-2004

Este trabalho teve o objetivo de investigar em que medidas o ingresso dos Investimentos Diretos Estrangeiros (IDE) no Brasil respondeu às mudanças nos níveis de seus principais determinantes no período de 1980 a 2004. Após identificar que as séries estudadas eram não estacionárias, optou-se pela utilização do conceito de co-integração, sendo estimado um Modelo de Correção de Erros Vetorial (Vec Model). Os coeficientes estimados foram estatisticamente significativos e apresentaram os sinais esperados. Constatou-se que as variáveis às quais o ingresso de IDE apresentou maior sensibilidade são o risco-Brasil, o grau de abertura comercial da economia e a taxa de inflação brasileira

PREVISÃO DE PREÇOS DO AÇÚCAR UTILIZANDO REDES NEURAIS ARTIFICIAIS

For the countries Latin American the production and export of agricultural products are of great importance in the balance of their commercial bills. Like this, to know the world commercial behavior of those products is necessary for the development of commercialization projects. As the participation of Brazil in the international market of sugar is elevated, approximately 40% of the exports world championships are national, the relationship of the brazilian domestic market of this commodity is expected with the international prices. Like this, this work will analyze the impact of the prices of the future contract of sugar rude nº11 of Csce/Nybot, commercial exchange rate, barrel of petroleum WTI Spot (North American market) and Europe Brent Spot (European market) in the prices of the granulated sugar conditioned in bags of 50 kg. In this analysis it will be used artificial neural networks (NN's) to explore the influence of the parameters: number of layers and numbers of intermediate neurons, on the acting of NN's. Sexual violence against children and adolescents in Brazil: a systematic review of the literature

O propósito desse artigo foi realizar um levantamento sistematizado das pesquisas de pós-graduação Strictu Sensu, contendo informações relevantes sobre a problemática da violência sexual contra crianças e adolescentes no Brasil. Após a seleção filtrada de 46 trabalhos, foi possível identificar a prevalência das pesquisas realizadas em Instituições Públicas de Ensino Superior (IFES) localizadas nas regiões Nordeste e Sudeste. Em relação ao perfil das vítimas, prevalece a violência sexual contra meninas, e o risco de violência aumenta na medida em que estas se aproximam da adolescência (faixa entre 12 e 14 anos). Ficou bastante claro que a temática deve ser entendida sob um aspecto multidisciplinar, havendo, assim, necessidade de articulação entre os diversos atores sociais envolvidos na formulação de políticas públicas voltadas para proteção das crianças e adolescentes.Palavras-Chave: violência sexual, crianças e adolescentes, BrasilWe propose to conduct a systematic literature review of postgraduate research, which relevant information on the issue of sexual violence against children and adolescents in Brazil. Oxygen and Ventilatory Output during Several Activities of Daily Living Performed by COPD Patients Stratified According to Disease Severity

Objectives: To measure the oxygen and ventilatory output across all COPD stages performing 18 common ADL and identify the activities that present the highest metabolic and ventilatory output as well as to compare the energy expenditure within each disease severity.Materials and Methods: Metabolic (VO2 and VCO2), ventilatory (f and V-E), cardiovascular (HR) and dyspnea (Borg score) variables were assessed in one hundred COPD patients during the completion of eighteen ADL grouped into four activities domains: rest, personal care, labor activities and efforts.Results: the activities with the highest proportional metabolic and ventilatory output (VO2/VO(2)max and VE/MVV) were walking with 2.5 Kg in each hand and walking with 5.0 Kg in one hand. Very severe patients presented the highest metabolic, ventilatory output and dyspnea than mild patients (p<0.05).Conclusions: COPD patients present an increased proportion of energy expenditure while performing activities of daily living. the activities that developed the highest metabolic and ventilatory output are the ones associated to upper and lower limbs movements combined. Very severe patients present the highest proportional estimated metabolic and ventilatory output and dyspnea. Uso de Ferramentas Midiáticas e Práticas no Ensino de Acústica

Knowing the difficulties that students have in the Physics test of the National High School Examination (NHSE) for presenting deficiencies in the skills related to the concepts, resources and applications of the contents of Physics. In this article, we presented a didactic proposal in which students can build meanings about the concepts related to the study of sound waves (Acoustics) and their phenomena, using media and practical tools, as videos, animations, simulations, measuring equipment and musical instruments. This work was performed at Application School-UFPa, in 5 classes of the 2nd year of high school, which has an average of 26 students per class. The theoretical framework is based on Ausubel's Theory of Meaningful Learning (TML) using the methodology of constructing Conceptual Maps (CMs) and questionnaires. So that the concepts covered in the classroom were internalized in the student's cognitive development with the use of these tools improving performance on school assessments.Sabendo das dificuldades que os estudantes têm na prova de Física do Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM) por apresentar deficiências nas habilidades relacionadas aos conceitos, recursos e aplicações dos conteúdos da Física. Neste artigo, apresentamos uma proposta didática em que os alunos possam construir significados sobre os conceitos relacionados ao estudo das ondas sonoras (Acústica) e seus fenômenos, usando ferramentas midiáticas e práticas, como vídeos, animações, simulações, equipamentos de medida e instrumentos musicais. Este trabalho foi realizado na Escola de Aplicação da UFPa, em 5 turmas do 2º ano do Ensino Médio, que possui em média 26 alunos por turma. O referencial teórico é baseado na Teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa (TAS) de Ausubel usando a metodologia de construção de Mapas Conceituais (MCs) e questionários. De modo que os conceitos abordados em sala foram internalizados no desenvolvimento cognitivo do aluno com o uso dessas ferramentas melhorando o rendimento nas avaliações escolares

Uma Investigação sobre a Relação entre Atribuições em Causa Própria e Governança Corporativa

This work is an initial attempt to investigate the relationship between causal attributions in narrative sections of annual reports and a corporate governance index among companies listed on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa), for 2006. As a proxy for corporate governance we use the enhanced governance certification seals attributed by the Bovespa. The results show that self-serving attributions can be found in the annual reports, regardless of corporate governance levels indicated by the Bovespa seals. Evidence of a relationship obtained through the use of sentence counts is not corroborated when the proportion of reports dedicated to causal attributions is used. The possible explanation is connected to report length. The conclusion suggests further research, with inclusion of other variables and use of an extended sample, in order to clarify the issue.Este trabalho é uma tentativa inicial de investigar a relação entre atribuições causais nas seções narrativas de relatórios anuais e um índice de governança corporativa, entre as companhias participantes da Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo (BOVESPA) em 2006. Para representar a governança corporativa utilizamos o selo de certificação de governança emitido pela BOVESPA. Os resultados mostram que atribuições em causa própria podem ser encontradas nos relatórios anuais independentemente dos níveis de governança corporativa apontados pelos selos da BOVESPA. Evidências de uma relação obtida através da contagem de frases não são corroboradas, uma vez utilizados os percentuais dos relatórios dedicados a atribuições causais. A possível explicação está relacionada com o tamanho dos relatórios. A conclusão sugere novas pesquisas, com a inclusão de novas variáveis e uso de amostra estendida para dar maior clareza ao tema
