    The Role of Women in the Layout and Interior of Bale Mengina Traditional House

    This research discusses the role of women in designing the interior of the Bale Mengina traditional house on Lombok Island. The analytical method used was non verbal communication to interpret the interior parts of the house. The results revealed that several values of Bale Mengina interior design are sourced from the women homeowners, including 1) type and function of the spaces; 2) Space organization; 3) Space-forming elements; and 4) furniture. By exploring the values of local wisdom that still exist in a traditional house, it is expected that the maintenance and preservation of the traditional house concept can be supported. In addition, the concept of traditional house which is still relevant to cultural life today can be applied as a reference in rebuilding the concept of traditional house.     Kafe Rumah Akasha merupakan salah satu kafe di kota Malang mengangkat tema retro. Gaya yang Populer pada tahun 1980-an. Penataan desain interior ruangan serta aksesoris yang berkaitan dengan tema menjadi daya tarik tersendiri bagi pengunjung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi desain interior yang sesuai dengan fungsi dan kebutuhan, serta mengetahui visualisasi interior bergaya retro Rumah Akasha di jalan Hassanudin No.35F Klojen Malang. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif yang mana peneliti menjelaskan fenomena yang diteliti, dan disajikan dalam bentuk narasi mengenai penataan interior ruangan dan aksesoris yang menonjolkan gaya retro pada kafe Rumah Akasha. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan ada beberapa elemen pembentuk ruang, furniture, serta aksesoris yang bertema retro, yang terlihat pada meja, kursi dan aksesoris pada lampu, lukisan mobil tua, televisi.     Sejarah kota Malang tidak bisa lepas dari keberadaan Kayutangan. Pada era kolonial Belanda, kawasan ini menjadi pusat bisnis, yang hingga sekarang masih bertahan, bahkan telah ditetapkan sebagai  bangunan Heritage ke perwakilan pengelola 32 bangunan di Kota Malang 10 diantaranya berada dalam kawasan Kayutangan. Diantara bangunan-bangunan heritage terdapat gang yang juga dipenuhi rumah-rumah heritage, disanalah terdapat Kampung Heritage Kayutangan. Kampung Heritage Kayutangan sekarang ini menjadi salah satu destinasi wisata, dimana warganya sangat membuka diri dan menyiapkan rumah mereka sebagai titik swafoto. Namun ketika berkunjung ke Kampung Heritage Kayutangam, baik wisatawan lokal maupun wisatawan asing kesulitan mencari souvenir yang khas. Pengebdian ini bertujuan mengajak warga untuk dapat menumbuh kembangkan kemampuan berwirausaha yang selanjutnya mampu mengangkat potensi daerah melalui Pelatihan Pembuatan Souvenir Batik Motif Bangunan Kampung Heritage Kayutangan Malang dengan Teknik Smok. metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Rural Appraisal. Hasil kegiatan ini terdapat pengembangan Kemampuan Berwirausaha Masyarakat dengan produk unggulan membuat Souvenir Wisatawan terutama bagi wisatawan asing berupa t-shirt dan goodie bag.Kata kunci—Heritage Malang, Kayu Tangan, Teknik SMOK AbstractThe history of Malang cannot be separated from the existence of Kayutangan. In the Dutch colonial era, this area became a business center, which until now still survives, even has been designated as a Heritage building to the representative of the management of 32 buildings in Malang. 10 of them are in the Kayutangan area. Among the heritage buildings there are alleys which are also filled with heritage houses, there is Heritage Kayutangan Village. Kayutangan Heritage Village is now one of the tourist destinations, where the residents are very open and preparing their homes as a selfie point. But when visiting the Kayutangam Heritage Village, both local and foreign tourists have difficulty finding distinctive souvenirs. This service aims to invite citizens to be able to develop and develop entrepreneurial skills which are then able to raise the potential of the region through the Training of Making Batik Motifs in Malang Kayutangan Heritage Village Building with Smok Technique. The method used is Participatory Rural Appraisal.     Menurut data situs resmi Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kota Malang, wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Kota Malang tahun 2019 melonjak hingga lebih dari 100 % di bandingkan tahun 2018. Wisatawan asing dan lokal yang berkunjung selalu menyusuri bangunan Heritage yang ada di Kota Malang. Diantara bangunan Heritage tersebut, terdapat sebuah kampung yang terletak di dalam sebuah gang di Jl. Jend. Basuki Rachmat Gg. IV dan VI, Kota Malang, Jawa Timur bernama Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan. Tercatat wisatawan yang berkunjung disana sejumlah 4000 per tahun. Pengunjung melakukan perjalanan wisata dari rumah satu ke rumah lain yang bergaya kolonial Belanda dan masih ditempati pemiliknya. Namun wisatawan kesulitan mencari souvenir khas Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan, seharusnya sebuah tempat wisata selain menyediakan objek wisata juga souvenir yang dapat dibeli oleh wisatawan. Fungsi souvenir tidak hanya menyimpan kenangan tentang perjalanan yang dilakukan, melainkan juga sebagai ikon dari daerah tujuan wisata sekaligus memberi andil dalam mendukung pariwisata. Pengabdi membantu masyarakat disana untuk mengoptimalkan wilayah dengan menumbuh kembangkan kemampuan berwirausaha souvenir ikonik desa wisata. Selain menghasilkan uang, souvenir juga berfungsi sebagai sarana promosi. Untuk mendukung program tersebut maka pengabdi melakukan pelatihan pembuatan aksesori fashion batik shibori mix liontin resin.     Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menambah nilai fungsi (multifungsi) pada produk kerajinan kayu dengan menambahkan ornamen kerang cukli. Produk kerajinan yang digunakan adalah nampan dan sendok-garpu dari material kayu. Ornamen ditambahkan pada permukaan kayu dengan mengaplikasikan material kerang cukli. Pemilihan produk nampan dan sendok-garpu kayu didasari dari melimpahnya material kayu di Indonesia dan produk kayu dinilai relatif mudah untuk dikombinasikan dengan material lain dengan menggunakan teknik mozaik. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode perancangan yang meliputi tahap eksplorasi, perancangan, dan perwujudan. Hasil yang diproleh adalah karya kerajinan kayu nampan dan sendok-garpu yang telah diberi ornamen dari kerang cukli. Hasil karya kerajinan memiliki banyak fungsi/multifungsi setelah diberi ornamen dari kerang cukli. Cukli Ornament Wood Craft with Mosaic Techniques to Add Value to the Function ABSTRACTThis article aims to add value to the function (multifunction) of wooden handicraft products by adding ornament from cukli shells material. Craft products used are wooden trays and cutlery. Ornaments are added to the surface of the wood by applying cukli shell material. The selection of wooden trays and cutlery is based on the abundance of wood materials in Indonesia and wood products are considered relatively easy to combine with other materials using mosaic techniques. The method used is the design method which includes the exploration, design, and embodiment stages. The results obtained are the work of woodcraft trays and cutlery that have been given ornaments from cukli shells material.     Viewing the Development of Tulungagung Artistry

    The existence and development of art in a region of Indonesia is perceived as a form of support and contribution to the existence of art in Indonesia, while it can also be part of the capital strength and dignity of a nation. The same goes for the efforts to trail the development of art in Tulungagung as a part of modern art in East Java. It is the gait and character of the driving artists that voice and move the next generation of modern art, so that Moelyono’s role as a character in the Tulungagung arts can drive the next young generation in both Tulungagung and East Java. This condition encourages our research to see the modern art in Tulungagung. This research leverages the qualitative approach by filtering the data through document analysis and interviews. The result of classification and data analysis describes that modern art in Tulungagung, based on the periodization model by Sanento Yuliman, can be recorded in the third period (1960-present). Although there were no traces of the first period (Mooi Indie 1900-1940) and the second period (1940-1960), the development of Tulungagung art in the third period also seems to be dominated by the figures of college graduate artists from Art College in Indonesia. Therefore, the classification of the periodization of art development in Tulungagung is named by: (1) the period of Art College influence in Indonesia 1970-1980s, (2) the period of Art College influence in Indonesia 1980-1990s, (3) The Period of Art College influence in Indonesia 1990-2000s.     Elemen Visual dan Respon Pengunjung Terhadap Interior Noch Kafe di Kota Malang

    Ngopi culture of the Indonesian people today will proliferate services that provide various types of coffee drinks and comfortable and aesthetically pleasing seats. One of the cafes that provide this service is Noch Kafe, located in Malang City. This study aims to determine the visual elements of the interior at Noch Kafe and to determine the visitor's response to the visual elements of the interior. The study was conducted using qualitative methods to analyze descriptive data and images, and quantitative methods of percentages to analyze visitor response data. Descriptive data were obtained through interviews, documentation, and observation, while the response data were obtained through questionnaires. The results showed that the visual elements of the interior have a Scandinavian style with a blend of modern styles and are adapted to the climatic conditions and Indonesian culture. Space-forming elements are made simple and function properly. These can be seen through application of wood materials and the choice of white color on the walls. In addition, the form adapts to climatic conditions, as seen in glass ceilings and walls. Furniture is also made of wood and is simple in shape and according to its function. The results of visitors' responses to visual elements influenced by personal experience show a good/excellent response to most of the visual elements. However, the survey results also concludes that visitors are disfavored with the shape of the table, the shape of the shelves, the night lighting on the terrace area, and the photo/picture decoration

    The Fusion of 3D Animation Film and Macapat Song Increases the Curiosity of Junior High School Students to Learn Traditional Music

    Traditional music is often unpopular with the younger generation. This research proposed that middle-school students would become more curious about traditional songs which have been fused with 3D animation films. The research used descriptive quantitative methods. 111 junior high school students in Malang recruited through incidental sampling responded to a questionnaire. The results showed increases in the average cognitive and conative reaction to Tembang Macapat after seeing the Macapat animation, as well as a reduction in affective reaction.     Batik Modular Interloc sebagai Inspirasi Wirausaha Souvenir Kampung Cempluk Malang

    Tujuan dari kegiatan Pelatihan yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan intruksional agar memudahkan peserta yang masih awam dalam membuat produk. Namun peserta tetap dibebaskan untuk membentuk motif yang mereka sukai untuk membangun kreativitas mereka. Agar pelatihan dapat terus langsung berjalan menjadi bentuk wirausaha, dibuatlah grup media social Whatsapp post-event yang menjadi wadah untuk berdiskusi tentang pembuatan Batik Modular Interloc. Dan hal ini berhasil menjadikan peserta pelatihan untuk berwirausaha membuat souvenir Batik Modular Interloc dan dijual di Festival Kampung Cempluk 2019. Hasil penjualannya pun juga dapat menarik minat wisatawan untuk membelinya. Selain itu, peserta juga diberikan kuisioner post-event kepuasan pelatihan. Hasil dari kuisioner pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa peserta puas dengan instruktur dan cara pelatihannya namun mereka kesulitan untuk merapikan aksesoris Batik Modular Interlock.  Kata kunci— Kampung Cempluk, Souvenir, Batik Modular Interloc, Kawung Ceplokan, pengabdian, masyarakat Abstract The purpose of the activity the training is carried out using an instructional approach to facilitate participants who are still lay in making products. But participants are still free to form the motives they like to build their creativity. So that the training can continue to run immediately into a form of entrepreneurship, a post-event Whatsapp social media group was created as a forum for discussion about the making of Modular Interloc Batik. And this has succeeded in making the trainees to become entrepreneurs in making Interloc Modular Batik souvenirs and for sale at the Cempluk Village Festival 2019. The proceeds from the sale can also attract tourists to buy them. In addition, participants were also given a post-event satisfaction training questionnaire.
