A CMOS spectrum analyzer frontend for cognitive radio achieving +25dBm IIP3 and â169 dBm/Hz DANL
A dual RF-receiver preceded by discrete-step attenuators is implemented in 65nm CMOS and operates from 0.3â 1.0 GHz. The noise of the receivers is reduced by cross-correlating the two receiver outputs in the digital baseband, allowing attenuation of the RF input signal to increase linearity. With this technique a displayed average noise level below -169 dBm/Hz is obtained with +25 dBm IIP3, giving a spurious-free dynamic range of 89 dB in 1 MHz resolution bandwidth
Rural primary care workforce views on traumaâinformed care for parents experiencing complex trauma: A descriptive study
Background
An important service system for rural parents experiencing complex trauma is primary health care.
Aim
To investigate workforce knowledge, attitudes and practices, and barriers and enablers to trauma-informed care in rural primary health care.
Material & Methods
This study used a descriptive, cross-sectional design. It involved an on-line survey conducted in 2021 in rural Victoria, Australia. Participants were the primary health care workforce. The main outcome measures were study-developed and included, a 21-item Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices tool, a 16-item Barriers and Enablers to Trauma-Informed Care Implementation tool, and three open-ended questions.
Results
The 63 respondents were from community health (n = 40, 63%) and child and family services (n = 23, 37%). Many (n = 43, 78%) reported undertaking trauma-informed care training at some point in their career; with 32% (n = 20) during higher education. Respondents self-rated their knowledge, attitudes and practices positively. Perceived enablers were mainly positioned within the service (e.g. workforce motivation and organisational supports) and perceived barriers were largely external structural factors (e.g. availability of universal referral pathways, therapeutic-specific services). Open-ended comments were grouped into four themes: (1) Recognition and understanding; (2) Access factors; (3) Multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches; and (4) Strengths-based and outcome-focused approaches.
Discussion & Conclusion
Primary health care is an important driver of population health and well-being and critical in rural contexts. Our findings suggest this sector needs a rural trauma-informed care implementation strategy to address structural barriers. This also requires policy and system development. Long-term investment in the rural workforce and primary care service settings is essential to integrate trauma-informed care
Gravitational Waves in a Spatially Closed deSitter Spacetime
Perturbation of gravitational fields may be decomposed into scalar, vector and
tensor components. In this paper we concern with the evolution of tensor mode
perturbations in a spatially closed deSitter background of RW form. It may be
thought as gravitional waves in a classical description. The chosen background
has the advantage of to be maximally extended and symmetric. The spatially flat
models commonly emerge from inflationary scenarios are not completely
extended. We first derive the general weak field equations. Then the form of the
field equations in two special cases, planar and spherical waves are obtained
and their solutions are presented. We conclued with discussing the significance
of the results and their implications.Comment: 16 pages,no figure
On Isolated Conformal Fixed Points and Noncritical String Theory
We search for the gravity description of unidentified field theories at their
conformal fixed points by studying the low energy effective action of six
dimensional noncritical string theory. We find constant dilaton solutions by
solving both the equations of motion and BPS equations. Our solutions include a
free parameter provided by a stack of uncharged space filling branes. We find
several AdS_p\times S^q solutions with constant radii for AdS_p and S^q. The
curvature of the solutions are of the order of the string scale.Comment: 17 pages, Latex fil
Correlations and the Cross Section of Exclusive () Reactions for O
The reduced cross section for exclusive () reactions has been studied
in DWIA for the example of the nucleus O using a spectral function
containing effects of correlations. The spectral function is evaluated directly
for the finite nucleus starting from a realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction
within the framework of the Green's function approach. The emphasis is focused
on the correlations induced by excitation modes at low energies described
within a model-space of shell-model configurations including states up to the
shell. Cross sections for the -wave quasi-hole transitions at low
missing energies are presented and compared with the most recent experimental
data. In the case of the so-called perpendicular kinematics the reduced cross
section derived in DWIA shows an enhancement at high missing momenta as
compared to the PWIA result. Furthermore the cross sections for the - and
-wave quasi-hole transitions are presented and compared to available data at
low missing momenta. Also in these cases, which cannot be described in a model
without correlations, a good agreement with the experiment is obtained.Comment: 12 pages, LaTeX, 4 figures include
Meson exchange currents in electromagnetic one-nucleon emission
The role of meson exchange currents (MEC) in electron- and photon-induced
one-nucleon emission processes is studied in a nonrelativistic model including
correlations and final state interactions. The nuclear current is the sum of a
one-body and of a two-body part. The two-body current includes pion seagull,
pion-in-flight and the isobar current contributions. Numerical results are
presented for the exclusive 16O(e,e'p)15N and 16O(\gamma,p)15N reactions. MEC
effects are in general rather small in (e,e'p), while in (\gamma,p) they are
always large and important to obtain a consistent description of (e,e'p) and
(\gamma,p) data, with the same spectroscopic factors. The calculated (\gamma,p)
cross sections are sensitive to short-range correlations at high values of the
recoil momentum, where MEC effects are larger and overwhelm the contribution of
correlations.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figure

Circular Semiclassical String solutions on Confining AdS/CFT Backgrounds
We study multiwrapped circular string pulsating in the radial direction of
AdS black hole. We compute the energy of this string as a function of a large
quantum number n. One then could associate it with energy and a quantum number
of states in the dual finite temperature {\cal N}=4 SYM theory as well as three
dimensional pure gauge theory. We observe that the n dependence of the energy
has a universal form. We have also considered pulsating string in the
background of the near-extremal D4-brane solution. Circular pulsating membrane
in M-theory on AdS_7\times S^4 has also been studied.Comment: 14 pages, latex, v2: typos corrected, refs. adde
2D Gravity on with Chern-Simons Corrections
We study 2D Maxwell-dilaton gravity with higher order corrections given by
the Chern-Simons term. The model admits three distinctive vacuum
solutions. By making use of the entropy function formalism we find the entropy
of the solutions which is corrected due to the presence of the Chern-Simons
term. We observe that the form of the correction depends not only on the
coefficient of the Chern-Simons term, but also on the sign of the electric
charge; pointing toward the chiral nature of the dual CFT. Using the asymptotic
symmetry of the theory as well as requiring a consistent picture we can find
the central charge and the level of U(1) current. Upon uplifting the solutions
to three dimensions we get purely geometric solutions which will be either
or warped with an identification.Comment: 15 pages; V2: refs adde
Dual Spikes; New Spiky String Solutions
We find a new class of spiky solutions for closed strings in flat,
and backgrounds. In the flat
case the new solutions turn out to be T-dual configurations of spiky strings
found by Kruczenski hep-th/0410226. In the case of solutions living in ,
we make a semi classical analysis by taking the large angular momentum limit.
The anomalous dimension for these dual spikes is similar to that for rotating
and pulsating circular strings in AdS with angular momentum playing the role of
the level number. This replaces the well known logarithmic dependence for
spinning strings. For the dual spikes living on sphere we find that no large
angular momentum limit exists.Comment: Added reference
