Abstract In this study, aesthetics factor that take part in “Bu Böyledir” of Mustafa Kutlu were tried to specify. Aesthetics is philosophy of discipline which consists of four components. These basic four components subjec/ artist, aesthetic object/ work of art, aesthetics value/ the beauty of art work and aesthetic mode/ provision. Concordantly, “Bu Böyledir” book was evaluated by taking into consideration of these four components. By dealing each of the separately under different subtitles, the aesthetic figure were determined in the “Bu Böyledir” and it was given with the examples that were in the book . Before these, fastening, the brief explanations about what the meaning of the concepts were done and then, these concepts were supported by the remarks of the people who made research and study on the story types of Mustafa Kutlu. Key Words: Mustafa Kutlu, Bu Böyledir, Aesthetic Factor

WOS: 000237793400006PubMed: 16408239The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ropivacaine, a newer amide local anesthetic, on the ears of rabbits by using transient-evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs). Thirty rabbits were studied in a random block design of six groups of five animals each. There received intra-tympanically instilled single doses of 0.5 mg/kg, 1.0 mg/kg of ropivacaine, 0.5 ml of isotonic saline (control for intratympanic application), or intravenously administered single doses of 1.0 mg/kg, 2.0 mg/kg of ropivacaine and 1.0 ml of isotonic saline (control for intravenous application). Cochlear function was serially monitored using TEOAEs before administration and on the 1st and 15th days after administrations of ropivacaine or isotonic saline. The responses of TEOAEs were analyzed in terms of mean stimulus, stability, wave reproducibility and emission amplitudes at 1.0-4.0 kHz. We found no significant changes in the TEOAE responses of the baseline measurements in each group before administration and the responses at each interval in the same group after administration throughout the experiment (P > 0.05). Also, no significant difference was found between the group receiving ropivacaine administered intravenously or intratympanicly and the control group at each interval (P > 0.05). The data from the present study showed that ropivacaine, whether administered intravenously or intratympanically and even at a low or high dose, has no effects on the responses of TEOAEs in the early period. These findings encourage the use of ropivacaine as a safe agent without ototoxic effects in peripheral nerve blocks, epidural and intravenous regional anesthesia or even tinnitus therapy in the future

Nineteen reasons why physiatrists should do musculoskeletal ultrasound: EURO-MUSCULUS/USPRM recommendations

This article is an eventual consensus of experts from the European Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Study Group (EURO-MUSCULUS) and the Ultrasound Study Group in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (USPRM) pertaining to the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound in physical and rehabilitation medicine. Nineteen important reasons (as regards general advantages, specific conditions in physical and rehabilitation medicine, as well as comparisons with other imaging tools) have been highlighted to consolidate the scenario of how/why the probe of ultrasound needs to become the stethoscope, the extended hand, and the pen of physiatrists

Pediatric kidney care experience after the 2023 Turkey/Syria earthquake.

Background. Two earthquakes on 6 February 2023 destroyed 10 cities in Türkiye. We report our experience with pediatric victims during these catastrophes, with a focus on crush syndrome related-acute kidney injury (Crush-AKI) and death. Method. Web-based software was prepared. Patient demographics, time under rubble (TUR), admission laboratory data, dialysis, and kidney and overall outcomes were recorded. Results. A total of 903 injured children (median age 11.62 years) were evaluated. Mean TUR was 13 h (interquartile range 32.5, max 240 h). Thirty-one of 32 patients with a TUR of > 120 h survived. The patient who was rescued after 10 days survived. Two-thirds of the patients were given 50 mEq/L sodium bicarbonate in 0.45% sodium chloride solution on admission day. Fifty-eight percent of patients were given intravenous fluid (IVF) at a volume of 2000-3000 mL/m2 body surface area (BSA), 40% at 3000-4000 mL/m2 BSA and only 2% at > 4000 mL/m2 BSA. A total of 425 patients had surgeries, and 48 suffered from major bleeding. Amputations were recorded in 96 patients. Eighty-two and 66 patients required ventilator and inotropic support, respectively. Crush-AKI developed in 314 patients (36% of all patients). In all, 189 patients were dialyzed. Age > 15 years, creatine phosphokinase (CK) =20 950 U/L, TUR =10 h and the first-day IVF volume 20 950 U/L, but not with death. Adolescent age and initial IVF of less than 3000-4000 mL/m2 BSA were also associated with Crush-AKI. Given that mildly injured victims can survive longer periods in the disaster field, we suggest uninterrupted rescue activity for at least 10 days
