This study aims bruit and promotion practices of slavery in the Vila do Catalão, Province of Goiás, in the first half of the XIX century. For this purpose, it mpresents an auto of sharing with the primary purpose of providing the knowledge of one of the many and various slave registries in manuscripts of southeastern of Goiás that has been scanned by the project: “Em busca da memória perdida: estudos sobre a escravidão em Goiás” More specifically, it is reported one of the results of this work which consists in fac simile editions and semidiplomatic of one auto of 1839, under the custody of the Fórum da Comarca de Catalão/GO, and which describes values, ages and ethnicities of 23 slaves to be partitioned among the heirs. After such characteristics were briefly discusse

Root canal anatomical complexities, such as isthmus, may limit the action of the endodontic instruments, irrigant solutions and intracanal medications, leading to endodontic treatment failure. Objectives: This in vitro study assessed the type, position and incidence of isthmus in human permanent molars. Material and Methods: One hundred and twenty eight upper and lower first and second permanent molars were analyzed. The roots were embedded in transparent resin, and then split at different distances from the apex (1.0-2.5-4.0-5.5-7.0 mm). Following the sample examination in stereomicroscope, the data were submitted to chi-square statistical test at a 5% significance level. Results: The highest isthmus incidence was at 7.0 mm from the root apex in all samples, except the distal root of lower molars (at 5.5 mm). In upper and lower molars, type V (complete isthmus with a continuous opening between the two main root canals) was the most common classification of isthmus (28.8%). In the mesial root of first and second mandibular molars, type IV had the highest incidence (36% and 23.9%, respectively). Conclusion: It was concluded that isthmus was widely found in flat roots, with a low percentage in areas close to the apex. In upper and lower molars, these structures were most frequently found at 7 mm from the apex

Silicon accumulation in bioenergetic sunflower germination

    Get PDF
Silicon is considered a beneficial element for several plants, especially in crops with potential for residual biodiesel, and can provide an increase in dry matter in oilseeds. The objective of this work was to evaluate the accumulative power of silicon on sunflower germination and its development submitted to different doses. Sunflower seeds cv. Multissol were sown in polypropylene trays in substrate incorporated at different concentrations of organic silicon at doses: T1- control; T2-5.0; T3-10.0; T4- 15.0 and T5- 20 g kg-1 (BioMarkan®, 90% SiO2), totaling 128 repetitions per treatment. The germination percentage was evaluated in five periods (3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th and 15th day). On the 20th day, the seedlings were evaluated in terms of: number of leaves, shoot length, stem diameter, total fresh and dry mass. Subsequently, the analysis of chemical concentration of silicon in the seedlings and microanalysis of X-rays in the leaves of the sunflower seedlings were carried out. The interaction between treatments and germination days was significant for days where germination was higher on the 6th day. The silicon incorporated into the substrate accelerates the germination of sunflower seeds cv. multisol. The sunflower cv. Multissol is a silicon accumulator and presents better ultrastructural development up to a concentration of 10 g kg-1 of silicon.Silicon is considered a beneficial element for several plants, especially in crops with potential for residual biodiesel, and can provide an increase in dry matter in oilseeds. The aim of this study was to explore the bacterial diversity of 10 root canals with acute apical abscess using clonal analysis. Samples were collected from 10 patients and submitted to bacterial DNA isolation, 16S rRNA gene amplification, cloning, and sequencing. A bacterial genomic library was constructed and bacterial diversity was estimated. The mean number of taxa per canal was 15, ranging from 11 to 21. A total of 689 clones were analyzed and 76 phylotypes identified, of which 47 (61.84%) were different species and 29 (38.15%) were taxa reported as yet-uncultivable or as yet-uncharacterized species. Prevotella spp., Fusobacterium nucleatum, Filifactor alocis, and Peptostreptococcus stomatis were the most frequently detected species, followed by Dialister invisus, Phocaeicola abscessus, the uncharacterized Lachnospiraceae oral clone, Porphyromonas spp., and Parvimonas micra. Eight phyla were detected and the most frequently identified taxa belonged to the phylum Firmicutes (43.5%), followed by Bacteroidetes (22.5%) and Proteobacteria (13.2%). No species was detected in all studied samples and some species were identified in only one case. It was concluded that acute primary endodontic infection is characterized by wide bacterial diversity and a high intersubject variability was observed. Anaerobic Gram-negative bacteria belonging to the phylum Firmicutes, followed by Bacteroidetes, were the most frequently detected microorganisms
