The attitudes towards a choice of a workplace are formed from the opportunity for professional realisation. While progressing through their university education, nurses master a modern, autonomous and regulated profession that enables them to successfully build a career wherever health care is required, including at a nursery. The aim of this study is to investigate the attitudes of student nurses regarding a career in a nursery. Materials and methods: A survey was conducted among 58 second - and third - year nursing students at MU-Varna. The survey was conducted during April 2023. Results and discussion: Students’ awareness of the nurse’s work in a nursery is primarily based on personal impressions during clinical practice at a nursery, with almost half of the surveyed participants considering the time spent for that particular practice to be insufficient. Nevertheless, a majority of them claim that the clinical practice in a nursery has enhanced their knowledge and skills regarding working with children. Out of all the studied disciplines, Children’s pedagogy, Children’s psychology and Nursing care in pediatrics were highlighted as most essential when forming professional competencies in this pathway. More than 1/3 of students want to become a nursery nurse mainly because of the work with children, the convenient working hours and the pedagogical work

In business environments which are changing rapidly and have an intense competition, it is becoming more and more difficult to use the resources effectively and efficiently in terms of continuity of organizations and to use their resources effectively and efficiently. New business organizations be stopped up in fields of productivity and profitability because of systematic problems such as abuse of power, unethical practices, exclusion, employee well-being and deterioration of work life balance. In order to overcome negative situations, the concept of servant leadership has an important place in terms of the continuity and profitability of the organizations. Servant leadership is defined as the form of leadership that has an unusual influence and resources, which can show empathy towards its followers, listen to their wishes, emotionally understand them and support them. In line with the given definition, although servant leadership overlaps from other modern leadership structures like transformative, ethical, charismatic and leader-member interactive leadership, it differs from other leadership structures with its focus on the needs of its followers and support for their development and upbringing. In the same scope and in relation to each other, one of the most common topic in the field of organizational behavior and corporate communication in recent years is organizational citizenship behavior. Organizational citizenship desribes employees extra role behaviours which they do voluntarily, beyond their formal job descriptions. Organizational citizenship behavior, which is based on 5 dimensions, as altruism, civil virtue, conscientiousness, courtesy and sportsmanship, contributes to the individual performance of the employee and to the organizational performance of the institution it is affiliated with. Hence, it is possible to say that there is a positive correlation between job satisfaction, institutional commitment and performance and organizational citizenship behavior. In this context, the general purpose of the thesis; is to examine the role of servant leadership on the adoption and display of organizational citizenship behavior. The primary priority of the thesis is to examine the effects of servant leadership on the formation of organizational citizenship behavior on a general scale. In addition, the other aim of the study is to support the dissemination of the use of servant leadership which is one of the conditions necessary for organizations to ensure their sustainability in the modern world., in public and private sectors. Finally, the last aim of this thesis is to increase the awareness of organizational citizenship behavior on the basis of individuals working in various sectors. In this respect, the first and the second part of the thesis, the literature review, which forms the basis of the research, was conducted. In the first chapter, the concept of leadership, the historical development of leadership, the modern leadership approaches, the definition of the servant leadership, the pioneers and the characteristic structures are mentioned. In the second chapter, definitions, structure, dimensions and factors that cause the formation of organizational citizenship behavior are introduced. In the third chapter, the data obtained from the qualitative study which implemented on members of the Torbalı Chamber of Commerce are presented and the relationship between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior is tried to be put forward. The results were evaluated and various recommendations were made

Atrial fibrillation is the most common complication of coronary by-pass surgery that may leads to palpitation, anxiety, faintness, low cardiac output and thromboembolism. Cardiomyopaty and mortality is occasionally seen. Thus, atrial fıbrillation prolongs intensive care and hospital stay that increases the cost of surgery. In the last 25 years, many studies have been published for its etiology, prevention and treatment. The main topic in most of these studies was to avoid unnecessary antiarithymic proflaxis in the light of preoperative predictive factors. In this study, the incidence of atrial fıbrillation following conventional by-pass surgery was compared to off-pump coronary surgery. In addition, the factors effecting the occurence of atrial fıbrillation was also investigated. Patients who underwent coronary revascularisalion in the last two years period were retrospectively reviewed. One hundred consecutive patients, Group 1, undergoing conventional coronary by-pass surgery were compared to the other 100 patients, Group 2, undergoing off-pump coronary surgery. The statistical difference of atrial fıbrillation incidence and demographic parameters were searched in both groups. The cause of atrial fibrillation was also evaluated in both groups. The occurence of atrial fibrillation was not statistically different between the groups. In addition, the age and beta blocker abstinance syndrome were the only factors that effects the occurence of atrial fibrillation in both groups. In conclusion, the development of atrial fibrillation is not related to the type of surgery and its prediction is not possible in the pre-and postoperative period

Background: A safe and careful way of working in the meeting between technology and patient is important. Non-technical skills such as team work and communication between the members of the operation team are fundamental to maintaining patient safety. The operation nurse, together with the team, has a responsibility to communicate in a efficient and patient-safe manner as possible. There are tools such as WHO's checklist, CRM-training (crisis resource management) and simulation to facilitate communication between team members and to ensure patient safety. Despite this, the research shows that lack of communication in the operating room occurs, which in turn can cause nursing injuries. Aim: The purpose of this study was to search structurally, review quality and compile literature published between 2014-2019, which describes the extent to which communication affects the members of an operation team. Method: A systematic literature search was made in the databases Cinahl and PubMed. The authors read and made a first screening based on title and abstract. The authors then read the articles in full text individually based on established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The SBU's review template was used in the assessment of the quality of the articles that have been published since then, then the authors made data extraction and categorized the data based on outcome. Result: All articles describe that communication is problematic and lacking. They also describe that the use of the WHO checklist and CRM training, simulation as well as knowledge of non-technical skills affects communication for the better and protects patient safety. At the same time, it is clear that the perception of what good communication is differs between the team members. All studies had scientific shortcomings. Conclusion: Evidence is still inadequate and better studies are needed in the future, in order to shed light on the chosen area, which can lead to more effective communication and thereby to an improved care for the patient in surgery
