Blow-up results for semilinear wave equations in the super-conformal case

We consider the semilinear wave equation in higher dimensions with power nonlinearity in the super-conformal range, and its perturbations with lower order terms, including the Klein-Gordon equation. We improve the upper bounds on blow-up solutions previously obtained by Killip, Stovall and Vi\c{s}an [6]. Our proof uses the similarity variables' setting. We consider the equation in that setting as a perturbation of the conformal case, and we handle the extra terms thanks to the ideas we already developed in [5] for perturbations of the pure power case with lower order terms

Dielectric Resonator Metasurface for Dispersion Engineering

We introduce a practical dielectric metasurface design for microwave frequencies. The metasurface is made of an array of dielectric resonators held together by dielectric connections thus avoiding the need of a mechanical support in the form of a dielectric slab and the spurious multiple reflections that such a slab would generate. The proposed design can be used either for broadband metasurface applications or monochromatic wave transformations. The capabilities of the concept to manipulate the transmission phase and amplitude of the metasurface are supported by numerical and experimental results. Finally, a half-wave plate and a quarter-wave plate have been realized with the proposed concept

Let G be an exponential solvable Lie group, H and A two closed connected subgroups of G and [sigma] a unitary and irreducible representation of H. We prove the orbital spectrum formula of the Up-Down representation [rho](G,H, A, [sigma]) = IndGH [sigma] A . When G is nilpotent, the multiplicities of such representation turns out to be uniformly infinite or finite and bounded. A necessary and sufficient condition for the finiteness of the multiplicities is given. The same results are obtained when G is exponential solvable Lie group, H and A are invariant

Intra-industry Trade and Labour Market Adjustment in France

According to the smooth adjustment hypothesis the labor market adjustment costs entailed by trade liberalization are lower if trade expansion is intra industry rather inter industry in nature In this paper we study the link between trade and labor-market changes in France over the period 1986-2011 The empirical survey uses a panel data models with fixed effects it showes a negative correlation between changes of employment and marginal intra-industry trade These results confirm the smooth adjustment hypothesis The mesure of marginal IIT is then found to be more appropriate for the analysis of adjustment issues than the traditional static IIT inde

The aim of this paper is to show that the Islamic finance is more stable than the conventional finance constituting thus a means to reduce the impact of financial crisis Using a VAR model for the financial indexes of France SBF250 United States DOW JONES United Kingdom FTSE100 Indonesia JAKISLM and Saudi Arabia TADAWUL covering the period 26 02 2007- 12 20 2010 we show that the effect of a shock on the American market during the period of crisis is negatively transmitted on all other markets but with a small extent on the market using the method of Islamic financin
