Quantum Einstein's Equations and Constraints Algebra
In this paper we shall address this problem: Is quantum gravity constraints
algebra closed and what are the quantum Einstein equations. We shall
investigate this problem in the de-Broglie--Bohm quantum theory framework. It
is shown that the constraint algebra is weakly closed and the quantum
Einstein's equations are derived.Comment: 13 pages, No figure, RevTeX. To appear in Pramana J. Phys., 200
Synchronization dynamics of two nanomechanical membranes within a Fabry-Perot cavity
Spontaneous synchronization is a significant collective behavior of weakly
coupled systems. Due to their inherent nonlinear nature, optomechanical systems
can exhibit self-sustained oscillations which can be exploited for
synchronizing different mechanical resonators. In this paper, we explore the
synchronization dynamics of two membranes coupled to a common optical field
within a cavity, and pumped with a strong blue-detuned laser drive. We focus on
the system quantum dynamics in the parameter regime corresponding to
synchronization of the classical motion of the two membranes. With an
appropriate definition of the phase difference operator for the resonators, we
study synchronization in the quantum case through the covariance matrix
formalism. We find that for sufficiently large driving, quantum synchronization
is robust with respect to quantum fluctuations and to thermal noise up to not
too large temperatures. Under synchronization, the two membranes are never
entangled, while quantum discord behaves similarly to quantum synchronization,
that is, it is larger when the variance of the phase difference is smaller
Maps on density operators preserving quantum f-divergences
For an arbitrary strictly convex function f defined on the
non-negative real line we determine the structure of all transformations
on the set of density operators which preserve the quantum f-divergence

High amount of hardness and minerals on the raw water will determine the right
technology that could be used for reducing the amount hardness and minerals from it. In this
research, multi-bed ion exchange reactor with continue proccess will be used for determining
the highest percent removal that could be reach and the best volume of resins that could be
used for reducing the amount of hardness and minerals from raw water. Independent
variable that will be used in this research is the volume of resins (1L, 2L, 3L, 4L, and 5L) and
sampling time (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 hours). Based on the analysis results, we know that volume
resin influence the amount of percent removal that could be reach, but not for the sampling
time. The best volume resin that could be used for removing cation is 4L with the average
removal of cation reach 86,364% and the best volume resin that could be used for removing
anion is 2L with the average removal of anion reach 49,7333%. Cation exchanger that have
been used in this research would be exhausted after 3 hours. So, it have to be regenerated
every 3 hours. Anion exchanger that have been used for this research would be exhausted
after 2 hours. So, it have to be regenerated every 2 hours
Cerebral small vessel disease, medial temporal lobe atrophy and cognitive status in patients with ischaemic stroke and transient ischaemic attack
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:
Small vessel disease (SVD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) are two common causes of cognitive impairment and dementia, traditionally considered as distinct processes. The relationship between radiological features suggestive of AD and SVD was explored, and the association of each of these features with cognitive status at 1 year was investigated in patients with stroke or transient ischaemic attack.
METHODS:
Anonymized data were accessed from the Virtual International Stroke Trials Archive (VISTA). Medial temporal lobe atrophy (MTA; a marker of AD) and markers of SVD were rated using validated ordinal visual scales. Cognitive status was evaluated with the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) 1 year after the index stroke. Logistic regression models were used to investigate independent associations between (i) baseline SVD features and MTA and (ii) all baseline neuroimaging features and cognitive status 1 year post-stroke.
RESULTS:
In all, 234 patients were included, mean (±SD) age 65.7 ± 13.1 years, 145 (62%) male. Moderate to severe MTA was present in 104 (44%) patients. SVD features were independently associated with MTA (P < 0.001). After adjusting for age, sex, disability after stroke, hypertension and diabetes mellitus, MTA was the only radiological feature independently associated with cognitive impairment, defined using thresholds of MMSE ≤ 26 (odds ratio 1.94; 95% confidence interval 1.28-2.94) and MMSE ≤ 23 (odds ratio 2.31; 95% confidence interval 1.48-3.62).
CONCLUSION:
In patients with ischaemic cerebrovascular disease, SVD features are associated with MTA, which is a common finding in stroke survivors. SVD and AD type neurodegeneration coexist, but the AD marker MTA, rather than SVD markers, is associated with post-stroke cognitive impairment
Corrections to Decay in the 2HDM
QCD corrections to the inclusive decay are
investigated within the two - Higgs doublet extension of the standard model
(2HDM). The analysis is performed in the so - called off-resonance region; the
dependence of the obtained results on the choice of the renormalization scale
is examined in details. It is shown that corrections can suppress
the decay width up to times (depending on the
choice of the dilepton invariant mass and the low - energy scale ). As
a result, in the experimentally allowed range of the parameters space, the
relations between the branching ratio and the new physics
parameters are strongly affected. It is found also that though the
renormalization scale dependence of the branching is
significantly reduced, higher order effects in the perturbation theory can
still be nonnegligible.Comment: 16 pages, latex, including 6 figures and 3 table
Final state rescattering as a contribution to
We provide a new estimate of the long-distance component to the radiative
transition . Our mechanism involves the soft-scattering of
on-shell hadronic products of nonleptonic decay, as in the chain . We employ a phenomenological fit to scattering data
to estimate the effect. The specific intermediate states considered here modify
the decay rate at roughly the level, although
the underlying effect has the potential to be larger. Contrary to other
mechanisms of long distance physics which have been discussed in the
literature, this yields a non-negligible modification of the channel and hence will provide an uncertainty in the extraction of
. This mechanism also affects the isospin relation between the rates
for and and may generate CP
asymmetries at experimentally observable levels.Comment: 15 pages, RevTex, 3 figure
An Empirical Examination of the Relationship Between Information Technology Infastructure, Customer Focus and Business Advantages
During the past two decades, both academic researchers and business managers have attempted to understand the ways through which information technology (IT) can create business advantages. In this paper, we present a model that tests the relationship between IT infrastructure, customer focus, and business advantages. Customer Focus has been categorized into: customer responsiveness and product/service innovation. The data for the study were obtained from 116 executives from a number of business organizations. IT infrastructure is found to have significant effect on customer responsiveness, but does not show any significant relationship with product/service innovation. IT infrastructure, customer responsiveness, and product/service innovation are found to be significantly related business advantages
Mathematical aspects of intertwining operators: the role of Riesz bases
In this paper we continue our analysis of intertwining relations for both
self-adjoint and not self-adjoint operators. In particular, in this last
situation, we discuss the connection with pseudo-hermitian quantum mechanics
and the role of Riesz bases.Comment: Journal of Physics A, in pres
