Background: The objective of this study was to characterize patients with HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B in Duhok province. Methods: We recruited all patients with HBeAg negative chronic hepatitis B virus infections who visited viral hepatitis clinic in Azadi Teaching Hospital between September 2015-December 2017. The main evaluation parameters were: serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels, serum albumin, total serum bilirubin (TSB), viral load. Few patients were subjected to Fibro-test, Fibroscan, or liver biopsy. Results: There were 251 patients. The mean age of the patients was 35.75±14.40 years. One hundred fifty-seven cases were male and 94 cases were female. The baseline mean of ALT, AST and viral load was 42.09±2.71U/L, 30.26±19.65U/L, and 1421197.08±14436692.04IU/ml, respectively. Compared with women, men have significantly higher values of ALT and AST, serum albumin, and TSB. There were 217 chronic inactive carrier (IC) patients and 34 chronic active hepatitis (AH) patients. ALT, AST, and viral load levels were significantly higher among AH patients. Conclusions: The majority of patients showed nil to mild liver injury. The higher level of ALT in males is a supporting guide to follow the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) considering 30U/L and 19U/L levels for males and females, respectively. There was preponderance of males in AH, which indicates greater frequency of advanced fibrosis in such patients. There was a greater probability of AH in old aged people. Serum albumin and TSB were not good markers for differentiation between AH and IC state. Twenty-four patients had ALT above twice upper limit of normal level, but 34 patients showed AH based on liver biopsy, firboscan or fibrotest

THE IMPLICATIONS OF ROBOTICS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH

    No full text
The Industrial Age, which humanity entered long ago with the invention of the steam engine, resulted in the introduction of primitive mechanization into the manufacturing process. Electronics, nanotechnology, advances in medicine, health, and digital applications, among other things, are accelerating the study of mechatronics today, thanks to the development of the internet and mobile technologies. Robotics and artificial intelligence occupied a prominent position on the agenda of the last World Economic Forum, and economists such as Roubini and Stiglitz participated in the discussion of how robotics and artificial intelligence will impact the economy and business. However, even though Stephen Hawking has expressed concern about the risks involved in this regard, we are witnessing tremendous news and articles in business pages daily regarding these topics, and corporate life and professionals are no longer able to resist these changes. The changing nature of business terms and work forces, as well as the way businesses are conducted in the age of new technologies, will have significant implications for daily business life, as well as for the economies of individual countries and the global economy. The advancements in Artificial Intelligence will have a significant impact on many items and headlines in business and economics such as the jobless ratio, the Philips Curve, performance management, Analytics customer relationship management, sales and strategic planning mass production, Purchasing Power Parity (gross domestic product, inflation, money, Central Banks banking system, coaching training, accounting taxes, and many other items and headlines. One simple example can help to illustrate the magnitude of these ramifications: Would you recommend that the company maintain provisions for severance pay for its employees or that we calculate a reserve for depreciation / amortization for its robots? Would you recommend that we keep the term "human resources" in the title of the company's balance sheet, or would you recommend that we remove it entirely the purpose of this conceptual and hypothetical paper is to address and discuss the future of robots, mechatronics, and artificial intelligence from a variety of viewpoints and perspectives

The article introduces the notion of supply chain, which is founded on two dimensions: the basic processes of a supply chain, and the concept of corporate social responsibility, which are both discussed in detail. It is proposed that a responsible supply chain is achieved through the manifestation of fundamental values by supply chain participants, as well as through their plans and tactics. A further discussion is included in this paper regarding the individual supply chain actors' responsibility for assuring that a responsible supply chain exists that is outside of their direct control. A conceptual model as well as a definition of a responsible supply chain are provided. We have developed a model that not only gives structure to the existing studies, but also produces new constructs and linkages that help to expand our understanding of the responsible supply chain. The work is based on an evaluation of research articles that were published between since years ago and contained parts of corporate social responsibility and supply chain procedure

In a globalizing world economy, the cause for inequalities in economic development and inter-country income inequality is explained by technology differences across countries. The purpose of science and technology is to make it possible for businesses and individuals to use technologies more efficiently, which results in lower costs and increased productivity gains. The application of innovative technologies paves the way to produce new, lower-cost goods and for the accumulation of capital, as well as for the improvement of individual countries' international competitiveness and the improvement of the quality of scientific research institutions, while also contributing to the cultural and political development of societies. The quality of growth rates is just as essential as the size of those rates. If one wants to have a better knowledge of whether growth has an impact on people's lives or not, one can pose the following questions: Does the process of growth include people and involve them in it? Is it true that everyone benefits from the opportunities created by growth? Do modern technology or increased trade volumes broaden the range of options available to people Is it planned to raise the standard of living for future generations Or, rather, is it only the current generation that is taken into consideration? Are markets accessible and open to everybody and everyone who wants to participa

Nowadays, information systems such as the Agile model can adapt to the structures and processes of smart organizations, particularly SMEs. The faster an information technology company adopts risk management-based Agile in a work environment, the higher its performance and energy efficiency. To maximize the value generated by agile decision-makers or managers, SMEs must have the capability and willingness to adopt new risk management-based technology models. Additionally, the study identifies a gap in the use of the Agile Model to influence the success of SME projects in the Middle East region's SMEs (, UAE, KSA, Oman, Egypt, Iraq, and Qatar). The study is aimed at SMEs in the electronics and energy sectors, as well as IT businesses and big data projects, with the goal of encouraging them to adopt an Agile model. This study was characterized positively in numerous ways, including the adoption of technology in the workplace to accommodate abrupt changes in energy management schemes and various government policies promoting energy conservation. Additionally, employee training and adaptability in dealing with programs that can affect the process help accomplish the objectives. Restructuring medium and small businesses to improve their energy management and overall performance
