Depth of cohomology support loci for quasi-projective varieties via orbifold pencils
The present paper describes a relation between the quotient of the
fundamental group of a smooth quasi-projective variety by its second commutator
and the existence of maps to orbifold curves. It extends previously studied
cases when the target was a smooth curve. In the case when the quasi-projective
variety is a complement to a plane algebraic curve this provides new relations
between the fundamental group, the equation of the curve, and the existence of
polynomial solutions to certain equations generalizing Pell's equation. These
relations are formulated in terms of the depth which is an invariant of the
characters of the fundamental group discussed in detail here.Comment: 22 page
My Teaching and Administrative Experience in the Middle East: A Cultural Perspective
This paper explores the evolution of my experience in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) culminating in my current employment as an administrator and instructor in Saudi Arabia. It focuses on TEFL as my passion for more than 20 years and highlights the impact that my various TEFL roles have had on my teaching strategies throughout my academic professional career various institutions. This paper emphasizes that despite the teacher\u27s vast experience in designing courses, training teachers and teaching at all levels, new cultural contexts, students\u27 expectations as well as the dynamics of divergent administrator/teacher/student cultural perspectives (especially when the administrator/teacher represents a minority culture) present great challenges to successful interpersonal, educational and administrative approaches.
Working with students from Saudi Arabia has brought a change in my teaching perspectives and techniques due to their unique social environment, religious beliefs, historical educational approach and family orientation

Niat Ibu Hamil Dari Suami Beresiko Tertular Hiv/aids Untuk Melakukan Vct Di Semarang Timur
Entropic and enthalpic effects of 4-methoxy substitution in phenoxyl radicals
Values of ÎH_3=(â12.4 ± 1.6) kJ mol^(â1), ÎS_3=(â18.5 ± 5.6) J K^(â1) mol^(â1) for reaction (3) (see text), corresponding to an OâH bond energy of 322.2 kJ mol^(â1) in 1, and to a 14.5 J K^(â1) mol^(â1) entropy loss for the CH_3OâAr (Ar = aromatic) libration in 2 relative to 1, are derived from the temperature dependence of the equilibrium constant K_3, determined by EPR spectrometry in benzeneâtoluene media, between 251 and 304 K. These results allow, for the first time, discrimination between enthalpic and entropic effects on the rates of (O)H-atom abstraction by peroxyl radicals from 4-methoxyphenols and related species
Higiene dan Sanitasi Nasi Tempe Penyet Pedagang Kaki Lima Jalan Karangmenjangan Surabaya
Nasi tempe penyet is one of traditional favorite food in Surabaya. This menu is consisting of rice, fried tempe, fresh vegetables and chilli ketchup. The purpose of this research was to observe the hygiene of the food handlers, sanitation facility and hygiene of nasi tempe penyet. This was a descriptive research with cross sectional approach. There were 12 nasi tempe penyet street vendors at Karangmenjangan street, Surabaya who became respondent. Data collected using questionnaire and check list. There were several hygiene of the food handlers must be considered. They did not using apron and uniform. Conditions of sanitation facility did not meet the standard including the selling location, handling of garbage and grey water and also washing the cooking tools. In general food sanitation of nasi tempe penyet was good. The E. coli parameters were negative. The nasi tempe penyet street vendors at Karangmenjangan street need training about personal hygiene and food sanitation. They have to be relocated for minimized the risk of food contamination. Keywords: hygiene and sanitation, street vendors, nasi tempe penye
A Bilevel Approach to Frequency Optimization in Public Transportation Systems
We consider the problem of frequency optimization in transit systems, whose objective is to determine the time interval between subsequent buses for a set of public transportation lines. We extend an existing single level model by adding a constraint on bus capacities, while maintaining user choice on routes by means of an assignment sub-model. The resulting formulation is bilevel, and is transformed into a mixed integer linear programming formulation (MILP) that can be solved to optimality for small-sized problem instances, using standard MILP techniques. We study different variants of the same formulation to better understand the bilevel nature of the model and its application to real settings
