Fractional calculus of periodic distributions
Two approaches for defining fractional derivatives of periodic distributions are presented. The first is a distributional version of the Weyl fractional derivative in which a derivative of arbitrary order of a periodic distribution is defined via Fourier series. The second is based on the GrĀØunwald-Letnikov formula for defining a fractional derivative as a limit of a fractional difference quotient. The equivalence of the two approaches is established and an application to a fractional diffusion equation, posed in a space of periodic distributions, is also discuss
Fractional transformations of generalised functions
A distributional theory of fractional transformations is developed. A constructive approach, based on the eigenfunction expansion method pioneered by A. H. Zemanian, is used to produce an appropriate space of test functions and corresponding space of generalised functions. The fractional transformations that are defined are shown to form an equicontinuous group of operators on the space of test functions and a weak continuous group on the space of generalised functions. Integral representations for the fractional transformations are also obtained under certain conditions. The fractional Fourier transformation is considered as a particular case of our general theory
UTP Co Curriculum Clicks
Education is very critical. Everyday students have to make choices on which
subject to undertake and which course would benefit them. In UIP, students
are required to attend several co curriculum courses as part ofthe requirement
to be graduated. Most of the students in UTP have problems on deciding co
curriculum coursesand they basically choose these courses without proper
knowledge and understanding on what these courses got to offer. The atilhor
has decided to use the blackboard system knowledge capture technique and to
create an interactive web based knowledge management system to
assiststudents pertaining to the course selection of Co Cuniculum in UTP. The
author will now discuss the progress of his proposed project and the additions
and removals made post proposal. The author discusses the problems and the
solutions provided by the implementation of urP Co Cuniculum Clicts. UTP
Co Cuniculum Clicks solved all the problems defined as discussed in this
report
Effective leadership in startups
We time and again stumble on word such as, āLeaderā āLeadershipā āQualities a Leader must haveā the world over. The word leadership and the qualities a leader must possess in order to be an effective leader at workplace but then how many times we hear leader fall apart and turn into a boss or a manager that we then turn ourselves away from. I believe, we didnāt quite get that right, or did we? for me āleadership is like a ghost, on whom, everyone talks about but only few have seen it. There is hardly any particular discussed or analysed papers around on āEffective Leadership in a Startup environmentā. A topic seems to be a little tickly and isnāt quiet straightforward as one might have thought though. Being a leader to me is essentially whole lot more than just being in charge of a business or people, there is a lot more at stake and it quiet cut out just for everyone.
Fundamentally, leader is a listener, an observer for that matter more than a talker, yet, communication seem to be one of the most important criteriaās of an effective leader. If you donāt explain it simply, you donāt understand it well enough, let alone in a startup environment where the stakes are extremely high, innovation is like none other and the competition is at cut- throat level, itās just doubles the expectation from a leader. Different types of leaders would have various different kinds of personalities and traits but the leader with the right degree of passion, attitude, someone with a higher purpose in life if I may say.
This research paper has taught me a great deal, I met leaders of various walks of life, heard them talked, listened to their views and conducted numerous surveys and questionnaires in my quest to obtain valuable insights to what makes a leader such an important entity. I humbly hope to my fellow readers, practitioners and respected academics I humbly hope I somewhat managed to touch the surface on this subject and provided some grounding on an effective leadership in a startup
Machining Ni-Cr-Fe based superalloy using abrasive water jet cutting process and its surface studies
Abstract : In this paper, the machinability of Ni-Cr-Fe based superalloy is studied using abrasive water jet cutting process. Experiments have been performed by varying the cutting process parameters namely: water jet pressure (240, 260 and 280 MPa), jet travel speed (20, 30 and 40mm/min) and stand-off-distance (1, 2 and 3mm). Material removal rate (MRR), kerf, and average surface roughness are measured as response parameters to evaluate process productivity and surface quality simultaneously. The influence of individual process parameters is identified using analysis of variance. Subsequently, the wear tracks are studied using electron microscopy. From the analysis, it is found that the jet travel speed is the most significant parameter. Conclusively, abrasive water jet cutting at 260 MPa jet pressure, 30 mm/min jet travel speed, and 1 mm stand-off-distance resulted in optimum responses i.e. kerf (0.0428), MRR (37.1835 mm3/min) and Ra (3.757 Āµm)
