Efficient Algorithms for Universal Quantum Simulation
A universal quantum simulator would enable efficient simulation of quantum
dynamics by implementing quantum-simulation algorithms on a quantum computer.
Specifically the quantum simulator would efficiently generate qubit-string
states that closely approximate physical states obtained from a broad class of
dynamical evolutions. I provide an overview of theoretical research into
universal quantum simulators and the strategies for minimizing computational
space and time costs. Applications to simulating many-body quantum simulation
and solving linear equations are discussed
A Measurement of Psi(2S) Resonance Parameters
Cross sections for e+e- to hadons, pi+pi- J/Psi, and mu+mu- have been
measured in the vicinity of the Psi(2S) resonance using the BESII detector
operated at the BEPC. The Psi(2S) total width; partial widths to hadrons,
pi+pi- J/Psi, muons; and corresponding branching fractions have been determined
to be Gamma(total)= (264+-27) keV; Gamma(hadron)= (258+-26) keV, Gamma(mu)=
(2.44+-0.21) keV, and Gamma(pi+pi- J/Psi)= (85+-8.7) keV; and Br(hadron)=
(97.79+-0.15)%, Br(pi+pi- J/Psi)= (32+-1.4)%, Br(mu)= (0.93+-0.08)%,
respectively.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figure

Measurements of Cabibbo Suppressed Hadronic Decay Fractions of Charmed D0 and D+ Mesons
Using data collected with the BESII detector at storage ring
Beijing Electron Positron Collider, the measurements of relative branching
fractions for seven Cabibbo suppressed hadronic weak decays ,
, and , , and are presented.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure
Measurement of the B0-anti-B0-Oscillation Frequency with Inclusive Dilepton Events
The - oscillation frequency has been measured with a sample of
23 million \B\bar B pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II
asymmetric B Factory at SLAC. In this sample, we select events in which both B
mesons decay semileptonically and use the charge of the leptons to identify the
flavor of each B meson. A simultaneous fit to the decay time difference
distributions for opposite- and same-sign dilepton events gives ps.Comment: 7 pages, 1 figure, submitted to Physical Review Letter
Search for Heavy Neutral and Charged Leptons in e+ e- Annihilation at LEP
A search for exotic unstable neutral and charged heavy leptons as well as for
stable charged heavy leptons is performed with the L3 detector at LEP.
Sequential, vector and mirror natures of heavy leptons are considered. No
evidence for their existence is found and lower limits on their masses are set
spectroscopy
In the framework of potential models for heavy quarkonium the mass spectrum
for the system () is considered. Spin-dependent splittings, taking
into account a change of a constant for effective Coulomb interaction between
the quarks, and widths of radiative transitions between the () levels
are calculated. In the framework of QCD sum rules, masses of the lightest
vector and pseudoscalar states are estimated, scaling relation
for leptonic constants of heavy quarkonia is derived, and the leptonic constant
is evaluated.Comment: IHEP 94-51, LATEX, 39 page
