Lightest-neutralino decays in R_p-violating models with dominant lambda^{prime} and lambda couplings
Decays of the lightest neutralino are studied in R_p-violating models with
operators lambda^{prime} L Q D^c and lambda L L E^c involving third-generation
matter fields and with dominant lambda^{prime} and lambda couplings.
Generalizations to decays of the lightest neutralino induced by subdominant
lambda^{prime} and lambda couplings are straightforward. Decays with the
top-quark among the particles produced are considered, in addition to those
with an almost massless final state. Phenomenological analyses for examples of
both classes of decays are presented. No specific assumption on the composition
of the lightest neutralino is made, and the formulae listed here can be easily
generalized to study decays of heavier neutralinos. It has been recently
pointed out that, for a sizable coupling lambda^{prime}_{333}, tau-sleptons may
be copiously produced at the LHC as single supersymmetric particles, in
association with top- and bottom-quark pairs. This analysis of neutralino
decays is, therefore, a first step towards the reconstruction of the complete

Charmless hadronic decays and new physics effects in the general two-Higgs doublet models
Based on the low-energy effective Hamiltonian with the generalized
factorization, we calculate the new physics contributions to the branching
ratios of the two-body charmless hadronic decays of and mesons
induced by the new gluonic and electroweak charged-Higgs penguin diagrams in
the general two-Higgs doublet models (models I, II and III). Within the
considered parameter space, we find that: (a) the new physics effects from new
gluonic penguin diagrams strongly dominate over those from the new -
and - penguin diagrams; (b) in models I and II, new physics contributions
to most studied B meson decay channels are rather small in size: from -15% to
20%; (c) in model III, however, the new physics enhancements to the
penguin-dominated decay modes can be significant, , and
therefore are measurable in forthcoming high precision B experiments; (d) the
new physics enhancements to ratios {\cal B}(B \to K \etap) are significant in
model III, , and hence provide a simple and plausible new
physics interpretation for the observed unexpectedly large B \to K \etap
decay rates; (e) the theoretical predictions for and
in model III are still consistent with the data
within errors; (f) the significant new physics enhancements to the
branching ratios of and decays are helpful to improve the
agreement between the data and the theoretical predictions; (g) the theoretical
predictions of in the 2HDM's are generally

Fermion Electric Dipole Moments in Supersymmetric Models with R-parity Violation
We analyze the electron and neutron electric dipole moments induced by
R-parity violating interactions in supersymmetric models. It is pointed out
that dominant contributions can come from one-loop diagrams involving both the
bilinear and trilinear R-parity odd couplings, leading to somewhat severe

The n2EDM experiment at the Paul Scherrer Institute
We present the new spectrometer for the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM) search at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), called n2EDM. The setup is at room temperature in vacuum using ultracold neutrons. n2EDM features a large UCN double storage chamber design with neutron transport adapted to the PSI UCN source. The design builds on experience gained from the previous apparatus operated at PSI until 2017. An order of magnitude increase in sensitivity is calculated for the new baseline setup based on scalable results from the previous apparatus, and the UCN source performance achieved in 2016
Optically pumped Cs magnetometers enabling a high-sensitivity search for the neutron electric dipole moment
An array of 16 laser-pumped scalar Cs magnetometers was part of the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM) experiment taking data at the Paul Scherrer Institute in 2015 and 2016. It was deployed to measure the gradients of the experiment's magnetic field and to monitor their temporal evolution. The originality of the array lies in its compact design, in which a single near-infrared diode laser drives all magnetometers that are located in a high-vacuum chamber, with a selection of the sensors mounted on a high-voltage electrode. We describe details of the Cs sensors' construction and modes of operation, emphasizing the accuracy and sensitivity of the magnetic-field readout. We present two applications of the magnetometer array directly beneficial to the nEDM experiment: (i) the implementation of a strategy to correct for the drift of the vertical magnetic-field gradient and (ii) a procedure to homogenize the magnetic field. The first reduces the uncertainty of the nEDM result. The second enables transverse neutron spin relaxation times exceeding 1500 s, improving the statistical sensitivity of the nEDM experiment by about 35% and effectively increasing the rate of nEDM data taking by a factor of 1.8
Wholesale pricing in a small open economy
This paper addresses the empirical analysis of wholesale profit margins using data of the Dutch wholesale sector, 1986. At the heart of the analysis is the typical nature of wholesale production: wholesalers do not produce a tangible product, but offer a service capacity. This has an immediate impact on the identification, interprelation and measurement of determinants of profit variations. A model is set up to explain variations in wholesale profit margins, which is inspired by two widely applied approaches to industry pricing: the behavioural mark-up model and the marginalist price-cost model
Role of chaos for the validity of statistical mechanics laws: diffusion and conduction
Several years after the pioneering work by Fermi Pasta and Ulam, fundamental
questions about the link between dynamical and statistical properties remain
still open in modern statistical mechanics. Particularly controversial is the
role of deterministic chaos for the validity and consistency of statistical
approaches. This contribution reexamines such a debated issue taking
inspiration from the problem of diffusion and heat conduction in deterministic

Velocity-space sensitivity of the time-of-flight neutron spectrometer at JET
The velocity-space sensitivities of fast-ion diagnostics are often described by so-called weight functions. Recently, we formulated weight functions showing the velocity-space sensitivity of the often dominant beam-target part of neutron energy spectra. These weight functions for neutron emission spectrometry (NES) are independent of the particular NES diagnostic. Here we apply these NES weight functions to the time-of-flight spectrometer TOFOR at JET. By taking the instrumental response function of TOFOR into account, we calculate time-of-flight NES weight functions that enable us to directly determine the velocity-space sensitivity of a given part of a measured time-of-flight spectrum from TOFOR
