    The Impact of Conflict Management on Organizational Effectiveness (A Case Study: Ministry of Higher Education of Jordan)

      The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of conflict management on organizational effectiveness on Ministry of Higher Education. Furthermore, to examine what factors generate interpersonal conflict and what conflict-management is applies in conflict situations. An additional useful definition of conflict is the situation in which people’s concerns appear to be incompatible. Consequently, different manage conflict addressing this problem of conflict dynamics in a new environment.  In an organization, people’s concerns strength center around such things as fix on how to allocate resources, determining what facts bear on an issue, and supporting different strategies. The reason of this research is to observe the impact of managing organizational conflict impact of organizational effectiveness. The findings of the this study exposed that assenting action played the most important role in conflict treatment managing used turned out to be a function of different variables. The study recommends that it is necessary to deploy the concept of managing conflict on organizational effectiveness

    Data on structural and composition-related merits of gC3N4 nanofibres doped and undoped with Au/Pd at the atomic level for efficient catalytic CO oxidation

    Precise design of graphitic carbon nitride (gC3N4) nanostructures is of grand importance in different catalytic applications. This article emphasizes additional data on the fabrication of metal-free gC3N4 nanofibres (gC3N4NFs) and its associated structural and composition analysis compared with Au/Pd co-doped gC3N4 nanofibres (Au/Pd/gC3N4NFs). The data is including the typical fabrication process of metal-free gC3N4 nanofibers and its SEM, TEM, and element mapping analysis beside Raman, and FTIR spectra relative to Au/Pd/gC3N4NFs. We also investigated the catalytic CO oxidation durability testes on Au/Pd/gC3N4NFs compared to Pd/gC3N4NFs and Au/gC3N4NFs. The presented data are associated with the research article entitled “Rational synthesis of one-dimensional carbon nitride-based nanofibers atomically doped with Au/Pd for efficient carbon monoxide oxidation.” [1].This publication was supported by Qatar University Internal Grant No. IRCC-179 .     An Analysis of Harmonic and Interharmonic Contribution of Electric Arc Furnace by Using Periodogram

    Fast and accurate detection of the harmonic and interharmonic contribution of electric arc furnace (EAF) is crucial in identifying and to mitigate the undesired effects to the system.  In this paper, periodogram, a fast and accurate technique is introduced for the analysis of the contribution. Based on a rule-based classifier and the threshold settings that referred to the IEEE Standard 1159 2009, the analysis of the harmonic and interharmonic contribution of EAF are carried out successfully. Moreover, the impact of contribution is measured using total harmonic distortion (THD) and total non-harmonic distortion (TnHD). In addition, periodogram also gives 100 percent correct detection and able to analyze the contribution impact. It is proven that the proposed method is accurate, fast and cost efficient for analyzing the impact of harmonic and interharmonic of EAF

    The effects of free amino acids profiles on seeds germination/dormancy and seedlings development of two genetically different cultivars of Yemeni Pomegranates

    Plant seeds used rely on a wide range of internal mechanisms and physio-chemical factors to ensure their germination under favorable environmental conditions. Most plant seeds have complex process of germination, including water, oxygen, temperature availability, genome-wide gene expression, signal transduction, hormones stimulations, inhibitors removal and catalytic protein synthesis. In addition, influences of seeds nutrient values such as, protein, lipids, sugars and free amino acids have a special importance. Regarding, seeds free amino acids. Discussion of these individual factors needs to be put in context of their role in germination processes. Regarding, free amino acids seed storage, there is limited information about their relevant functions in activation and/or deactivation of required metabolic mechanisms and interactive compounds involved in this process in commercial plant cultivars. Therefore, current study was aimed to determine the probable influence of free amino acid compositions of seeds on germination process of two different (Punica granatum L.) pomegranate cultivars including wild type Automi cultivar and edible Khazemi cultivar. In particular, we focused on the impact of amino acids contents variations on germination process and associated AAs compositional changes during various stages of germination and seedlings establishment. Amino acid analysis using HPLC detected all the essential and non-essential amino acids in the raw seeds of the studied cultivars, Automi and Khazemi along with AAs compositional changes occurred during different stages of seed germination. These AAs have been extensively analyzed in the context of their role in dormancy breaking capacities in plants species. Automi raw seeds are rich in Phe, that, is strongly related to ABA synthesis and hence might be responsible for the dormancy of Automi seeds, Khazemi raw seeds have sufficient levels of Arg, Glu and Met that have been reported to enhance seeds germination in plant, therefore Khazemi germination capacity was assumed to be regulated more or less by these AAs. In addition, changes in amino acid composition in the germinated Khazemi cultivar during various stages of seeds germination including imbibition, germination, and sprouts stages have been noticed to change in response with germination demands. This suggests that amino acids reserves in dry seeds are major determinant for germination capacity and germination behavior in the following steps of germination. The noticed particular AAs increase/decrease along the time course of Khazemi pomegranate germination till establishment of heterotrophic seedlings were used as cornerstones for elucidation and deduction of putative function and relevant biochemical pathways controlling initiation of seeds germination and seedlings developments. Based on publicly available databases of model plants and literatures surveys, we established correlations between prevailing AAs factors as biochemical parameters actively involved in seeds dormancy-breaking and germination process

    Image Processing Techniques for Harumanis Disease Severity and Weighting Estimation for Automatic Grading System Application

    Harumanis Mango is known as the king of Mangoes. It is very nutritious and rich with carotenes. However, many of the farmers and agriculture experts reported that they have problems in grading and inspecting the Harumanis Mango. Sometimes, Mango production loses its quality due to diseases that are not even visible to the naked eyes. Traditionally, farmers and agriculture experts will estimate the severity of the disease using their experiences. While for weight estimation, manual inspection was done by using a weight scale. This traditional method has its own drawbacks as it can lead to some errors due to inconsistencies made by human inspection. Furthermore, they are less efficient and very time-consuming. Therefore, an automated procedure that able to classify the disease severities and weight estimations would be much appreciated. With the aid of image processing techniques, diseases can be classified according to its scale, and its weight can be estimated. A number of pixels of Harumanis Mango will be used for classification. The analysis will be done by using the statistical method of regression. It shows that the accuracy of weight estimation is 72.25%

    Quantum-Elliptic curve Cryptography for Multihop Communication in 5G Networks

    The Internet of Things (IoT) depicts a giant network where every “thing” can be interconnected through the communication network. The communication can be initiated between people-people, people-things, and things-things. Meanwhile, the fifth generation (5G) mobile communicating systems are the mainspring to power the IoT concept in the upcoming future. However, the heterogeneous environment in 5G networks as well as the high dependency on radio spectrum have raised deep concerns about the security assurance against network attacks such as eavesdropping. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end security mechanism to ensure the multi-hop relay communications in 5G based IoT networks to stay secured. We design a scenario to explain the insecure multi-hop relay communications which involves Base Station (BS), Subscriber Station (SS) and Relay Station (RS). Next, we utilize Quantum Cryptography between BS to RS and RS to RS as well as adopting Elliptic Curve Cryptography between BS to SS or RS to SS to mitigate the network against typical replay attacks. By using the concept of integrating both cryptographic methods, the secret key that yield from Quantum Cryptography will be used in Elliptic Curve Cryptography to secure the transmission of information across IoT networks. Thereupon, extensive discussion has been carried out and it shows that the suggested mechanism has potential to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability and non-repudiation in the proposed scenario. In the final part of this paper, we conclude our study by a comparison analysis between the two proposed cryptographic solutions. The comparison analysis illustrates the performance of each proposed strategy in terms of the achievable level of secrecy in IoT networks

    Security issues in 5G device to device communication

    5G is a promising technology that will support high connectivity and device to device communication. It also promises to improve the existing technologies and will support them. Existing LTE-A utilize centralized communication scheme where all the authentication mechanisms need to go through the base station. This centralized authentication mechanism may generate authentication and key management overhead as well as computational complexity, thus not in line with the 5G requirements. On the other hand, distributed communication scheme lacks hop by hop authentication, thus, it is challenging to share the initial security credentials within the relay stations at multi-hop. Secondly, distributed communication scheme required decode and forward relays, a partial intelligent relays that can act as a semi base stations. Such relays are known as non-transparent relays. However, inclusion of such intelligent relays can leads towards a ROGUE RELAY STATION (RRS) attacks, which consequently generate Replay attacks, DoS and the MITM (where mutual authentication is absent). RRS can generate interleaving attack even in the presence of mutual authentication

    Gene flow from Clearfield® rice to weedy rice under field conditions

    Imidazolinone-herbicide-resistant Clearfield® (CL) rice permits the selective chemical control of weedy rice (Oryza sativa), a major weed problem in South-East Asian rice growing countries. However, there is major concern involving resistant individuals resulting from gene flow as the cultivated and weedy rice live side by side in the fields. An experiment was conducted in the rice fields of Kuala Rompin, Pahang, Malaysia to determine which Clearfield® rice cultivars and weedy rice cultivars are more prone to hybridization, and the effect on distance between the pollen donor and receptor plants. The experiment was piloted in a split plot design with four replications. Encircled population technique was used to determine the distance between the Clearfield® rice and detection of hybrids (F1). Resistance of progeny was determined after spraying with OnDuty™ and the confirmation of hybrids was done using the SSR primer RM251. Higher survival rate was recorded with cv. CL2 which was significantly different from cv. CL1. Weedy rice cultivar V1 and V2 in CL1 plots differed significantly from the same cultivar from CL2 plots. However, no significant difference was observed between weedy rice cultivars of V3 and V4, either in CL1 or CL2 plots. No survivors were found after second spraying. Suspected hybrids were found up to 5 m however the rate was much lower compared to only 1 m from the CL plots

    A miniaturized triple-band antenna based on square split ring for IoT applications

    YesThis article presents a miniaturized triple-band antenna for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The miniaturization is achieved by using a split square ring resonator and half ring resonator. The antenna is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with dimensions of (33 × 22 × 1.6) mm3. The proposed antenna resonates at the frequencies 2.4 GHz, 3.7 GHz, and 5.8 GHz for WLAN and WiMax applications. The obtained −10 dB bandwidth for the three bands of the proposed antenna are 300 MHz, 360 MHz, and 900 MHz, respectively. The measured reflection coefficient values of the proposed antenna corresponding to each resonant frequency are equal to −14.772 dB, −20.971 dB, and −28.1755 dB, respectively. The measured gain values are 1.43 dBi, 0.89 dBi, and 1 dBi, respectively, at each resonant frequency. There is a good agreement between the measured and simulated results, and both show an omnidirectional radiation pattern at each of the antenna resonant frequencies that is suitable for IoT portable devices
