Systemic 5-fluorouracil induced lupus erythematosus: a review of the literature
Drug-induced subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) is the most common subtype of drug-induced systemic lupus erythematosus and has been associated with more than 100 drugs. It presents weeks to months after initiation of the culprit medication. The eruption is typically in a photodistribution and it is marked by positive serology to anti-Ro (SSA) antibody. Systemic 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) is a less-common culprit of drug-induced SCLE and its occurrence is likely dependent on exposure to ultraviolet light. Herein, we present a review of drug-induced lupus induced by the pyrimidine analog, 5-FU, and its prodrugs, capecitabine and uracil-tegafur. The search was carried out using the following terms: (PubMed: keywords included drug-induced lupus, 5-fluorouracil, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, capecitabine, uracil-tegafur, discoid lupus, systemic lupus erythematosus)
Star Integrals, Convolutions and Simplices
We explore single and multi-loop conformal integrals, such as the ones
appearing in dual conformal theories in flat space. Using Mellin amplitudes, a
large class of higher loop integrals can be written as simple
integro-differential operators on star integrals: one-loop -gon integrals in
dimensions. These are known to be given by volumes of hyperbolic simplices.
We explicitly compute the five-dimensional pentagon integral in full generality
using Schl"afli's formula. Then, as a first step to understanding higher
loops, we use spline technology to construct explicitly the hexagon and
octagon integrals in two-dimensional kinematics. The fully massive hexagon
and octagon integrals are then related to the double box and triple box
integrals respectively. We comment on the classes of functions needed to
express these integrals in general kinematics, involving elliptic functions and
beyond.Comment: 23 page
Ultrafast Dynamic Metallization of Dielectric Nanofilms by Strong Single-Cycle Optical Fields
We predict a dynamic metallization effect where an ultrafast (single-cycle)
optical pulse with a field less or on the order of 1 V/Angstrom causes
plasmonic metal-like behavior of a dielectric film with a few-nm thickness.
This manifests itself in plasmonic oscillations of polarization and a
significant population of the conduction band evolving on a femtosecond time
scale. These phenomena are due a combination of both adiabatic (reversible) and
diabatic (for practical purposes irreversible) pathways.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
The Multi-Wavelength Tully-Fisher relation with spatially resolved HI kinematics
In this paper we investigate the statistical properties of the Tully-Fisher
relation for a sample of 32 galaxies with measured distances from the Cepheid
period-luminosity relation and/or TRGB stars.
We take advantage of panchromatic photometry in 12 bands (from FUV to 4.5
m) and of spatially resolved HI kinematics. We use these data together
with three kinematic measures (, and )
extracted from the global HI profiles or HI rotation curves, so as to construct
36 correlations allowing us to select the one with the least scatter. We
introduce a tightness parameter of the TFr, in order to obtain
a slope-independent measure of the goodness of fit. We find that the tightest
correlation occurs when we select the 3.6 m photometric band together with
the parameter extracted from the HI rotation curve.Comment: 16 pages, 16 figures, accepted for publication in MNRAS, minor

The corpus callosum, which is the largest white matter structure in the brain of all placental mammals, connects the left and right
cerebral hemispheres. An alteration in its morphology, hypoconnectivity or hyperconnectivity is a common marker of various
neuropsychiatric pathologies. One of these is Aicardi syndrome, which is characterized by a triad of callosal agenesis, infantile
spasms and chorioretinal lacunae. Patients affected by Aicardi syndrome frequently display other malformations together with
congenital defects of the eyes, ribs and vertebrae. Based on the current clinical knowledge, this syndrome is now recognized as
a complex neurodevelopmental disorder that includes neurological and constitutional symptoms. However, literature data have
not yet defined the presence of a particular set of symptoms in psychiatric patients with this condition. The present case is the
first report in which an on-going compulsive behaviour focused on the insistence to order objects has been observed in Aicardi syndrom
Kompetisi Stasiun Televisi Swasta Nasional Berdasarkan Superiority Direction Dan Superiority Magnitude
: Uses and gratification theory is employed particularly as the teoritical frame of the research to examine the extent to which ten national television stations compete to satisfy Indonesian audiences. In particular, two main concepts of that theory namely audiences “gratification sought and gratifications obtained, are broken down and counted based on superiority direction and superiority magnitude. In general, the findings show that those televisions have satisfied their audiences, although in terms of gratifications to dispersal motives, they haven’t satisfied as much as it was expected. Significant competition occurs between TRANSTV and TRANS7, RCTI and SCTV, and TVONE and METROTV. TVONE become the most satisfiyng television station
