Semiempirical Modeling of Reset Transitions in Unipolar Resistive-Switching based Memristors
We have measured the transition process from the high to low resistivity states, i.e., the reset process of resistive switching based memristors based on Ni/HfO2/Si-n+ structures, and have also developed an analytical model for their electrical characteristics. When the characteristic curves are plotted in the current-voltage (I-V) domain a high variability is observed. In spite of that, when the same curves are plotted in the charge-flux domain (Q-phi), they can be described by a simple model containing only three parameters: the charge (Qrst) and the flux (rst) at the reset point, and an exponent, n, relating the charge and the flux before the reset transition. The three parameters can be easily extracted from the Q-phi plots. There is a strong correlation between these three parameters, the origin of which is still under study
Singular Character of Critical Points in Nuclei
The concept of critical points in nuclear phase transitional regions is
discussed from the standpoints of Q-invariants, simple observables and wave
function entropy. It is shown that these critical points very closely coincide
with the turning points of the discussed quantities, establishing the singular
character of these points in nuclear phase transition regions between

The effect of seasoning with herbs on the nutritional, safety and sensory properties of reduced-sodium fermented Cobrançosa cv. table olives
This study aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of seasoning Cobrancosa table olives in a brine with aromatic ingredients, in order to mask the bitter taste given by KCl when added to reduced-sodium fermentation brines. Olives were fermented in two different salt combinations: Brine A, containing 8% NaCl and, Brine B, a reduced-sodium brine, containing 4% NaCl + 4% KCl. After the fermentation the olives were immersed in seasoning brines with NaCl (2%) and the aromatic herbs (thyme, oregano and calamintha), garlic and lemon. At the end of the fermentation and two weeks after seasoning, the physicochemical, nutritional, organoleptic, and microbiological parameters, were determined. The olives fermented in the reduced-sodium brines had half the sodium concentration, higher potassium and calcium content, a lower caloric level, but were considered, by a sensorial panel, more bitter than olives fermented in NaCl brine. Seasoned table olives, previously fermented in Brine A and Brine B, had no significant differences in the amounts of protein (1.23% or 1.11%), carbohydrates (1.0% or 0.66%), fat (20.0% or 20.5%) and dietary fiber (3.4% or 3.6%). Regarding mineral contents, the sodium-reduced fermented olives, presented one third of sodium, seven times more potassium and three times more calcium than the traditional olives fermented in 8% NaCl. Additionally, according to the panelists' evaluation, seasoning the olives fermented in 4% NaCl + 4% KCl, resulted in a decrease in bitterness and an improvement in the overall evaluation and flavor. An Appearance-Based Tracking Algorithm for Aerial Search and Rescue Purposes
The automation of the Wilderness Search and Rescue (WiSAR) task aims for high levels of understanding of various scenery. In addition, working in unfriendly and complex environments may cause a time delay in the operation and consequently put human lives at stake. In order to
address this problem, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), which provide potential support to the
conventional methods, are used. These vehicles are provided with reliable human detection and
tracking algorithms; in order to be able to find and track the bodies of the victims in complex
environments, and a robust control system to maintain safe distances from the detected bodies.
In this paper, a human detection based on the color and depth data captured from onboard sensors
is proposed. Moreover, the proposal of computing data association from the skeleton pose and a
visual appearance measurement allows the tracking of multiple people with invariance to the scale,
translation and rotation of the point of view with respect to the target objects. The system has been
validated with real and simulation experiments, and the obtained results show the ability to track
multiple individuals even after long-term disappearances. Furthermore, the simulations present the
robustness of the implemented reactive control system as a promising tool for assisting the pilot to
