Результаты анализа сравниваются с данными геофизических исследований скважин.     Large closed queueing networks in semi-Markov environment and its application

    The paper studies closed queueing networks containing a server station and kk client stations. The server station is an infinite server queueing system, and client stations are single-server queueing systems with autonomous service, i.e. every client station serves customers (units) only at random instants generated by a strictly stationary and ergodic sequence of random variables. The total number of units in the network is NN. The expected times between departures in client stations are (Nμj)1(N\mu_j)^{-1}. After a service completion in the server station, a unit is transmitted to the jjth client station with probability pjp_{j} (j=1,2,...,k)(j=1,2,...,k), and being processed in the jjth client station, the unit returns to the server station. The network is assumed to be in a semi-Markov environment. A semi-Markov environment is defined by a finite or countable infinite Markov chain and by sequences of independent and identically distributed random variables. Then the routing probabilities pjp_{j} (j=1,2,...,k)(j=1,2,...,k) and transmission rates (which are expressed via parameters of the network) depend on a Markov state of the environment. The paper studies the queue-length processes in client stations of this network and is aimed to the analysis of performance measures associated with this network. The questions risen in this paper have immediate relation to quality control of complex telecommunication networks, and the obtained results are expected to lead to the solutions to many practical problems of this area of research.Comment: 35 pages, 1 figure, 12pt, accepted: Acta Appl.     Stress-induced effects in light scattering by plasmons in p-type germanium

    Infrared light scattering by plasmons in p-Ge has been studied under uniaxial stress along the [110] axis with polarization of incident light parallel to the stress direction. It is found that the deformation of the crystal results in an increase of the plasma frequency and lowering the asymmetry of the line by plasma scattering. These effects are explained by taking into account the change of contribution to the dielectric constant caused by the intra- and intersubband transitions as a consequence of variation of the energy band of p-Ge related with deformation

    Production Asymmetry Measurement of High Xt Hadrons in pp Collisions at 40 GeV

    Single-spin asymmetries for hadrons have been measured in collisions of transversely-polarized 40 GeV/c proton beam with an unpolarized liquid hydrogen target. The asymmetries were measured for pi+-, K+-, protons and antiprotons, produced in the central region (0.02 < Xf < 0.10 and 0.7 < Pt < 3.4 GeV/c). Asymmetries for pi+-, K+- and antiprotons show within measurement errors the linear dependence on Xt and change a sign near 0.37. For protons negative asymmetry, independent of Xt has been found. The results are compared with those of other experiments and SU(6) model predictions.Comment: 25 pages (Latex), 12 Postscript figure

    Interplay of magnetization dynamics with a microwave waveguide at cryogenic temperatures

    In this work, magnetization dynamics is studied at low temperatures in a hybrid system that consists of a thin epitaxial magnetic film coupled with a superconducting planar microwave waveguide. The resonance spectrum was observed over a wide magnetic field range, including low fields below the saturation magnetization and both polarities. Analysis of the spectrum via a fitting routine we develop allows the derivation of all magnetic parameters of the film at cryogenic temperatures, the detection of waveguide-induced uniaxial magnetic anisotropies of the first and the second order, and the uncovering of a minor misalignment of the magnetic field. A substantial influence of the superconducting critical state on the resonance spectrum is observed and discussed

    Exact asymptotic form of the exchange interactions between shallow centers in doped semiconductors

    The method developed in [L. P. Gor'kov and L. P. Pitaevskii, Sov. Phys. Dokl. 8, 788 (1964); C. Herring and M. Flicker, Phys. Rev. 134, A362 (1964)] to calculate the asymptotic form of exchange interactions between hydrogen atoms in the ground state is extended to excited states. The approach is then applied to shallow centers in semiconductors. The problem of the asymptotic dependence of the exchange interactions in semiconductors is complicated by the multiple degeneracy of the ground state of an impurity (donor or acceptor) center in valley or band indices, crystalline anisotropy and strong spin-orbital interactions, especially for acceptor centers in III-V and II-VI groups semiconductors. Properties of two coupled centers in the dilute limit can be accessed experimentally, and the knowledge of the exact asymptotic expressions, in addition to being of fundamental interest, must be very helpful for numerical calculations and for interpolation of exchange forces in the case of intermediate concentrations. Our main conclusion concerns the sign of the magnetic interaction -- the ground state of a pair is always non-magnetic. Behavior of the exchange interactions in applied magnetic fields is also discussed

    Evidence of Color Coherence Effects in W+jets Events from ppbar Collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.8 TeV

    We report the results of a study of color coherence effects in ppbar collisions based on data collected by the D0 detector during the 1994-1995 run of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, at a center of mass energy sqrt(s) = 1.8 TeV. Initial-to-final state color interference effects are studied by examining particle distribution patterns in events with a W boson and at least one jet. The data are compared to Monte Carlo simulations with different color coherence implementations and to an analytic modified-leading-logarithm perturbative calculation based on the local parton-hadron duality hypothesis.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures.     Scattering theory and ground-state energy of Dirac fermions in graphene with two Coulomb impurities

    We study the physics of Dirac fermions in a gapped graphene monolayer containing two Coulomb impurities. For the case of equal impurity charges, we discuss the ground-state energy using the linear combination of atomic orbitals (LCAO) approach. For opposite charges of the Coulomb centers, an electric dipole potential results at large distances. We provide a nonperturbative analysis of the corresponding low-energy scattering problem
