Q-stars in extra dimensions
We study q-stars with global and local U(1) symmetry in extra dimensions in
asymptotically anti de Sitter or flat spacetime. The behavior of the mass,
radius and particle number of the star is quite different in 3 dimensions, but
in 5, 6, 8 and 11 dimensions is similar to the behavior in 4.Comment: 18 pages, to appear in Phys. Rev.
EYM equations in the presence of q-stars
We study Einstein-Yang-Mills equations in the presence of gravitating
non-topological soliton field configurations, of q-ball type. We produce
numerical solutions, stable with respect to gravitational collapse and to
fission into free particles, and we study the effect of the field strength and
the eigen-frequency to the soliton parameters. We also investigate the
formation of such soliton stars when the spacetime is asymptotically anti de

Flying Geese of Japan: Asian Electronic Industry
Although Japan is known as the largest electronics goods manufacturer, many Japanese companies are facing
high cost production due to limited resources. Some Asian countries have been proven to surpass Japan due to their
low cost production and cheaper labour. This study analyse the development of Asian leading electronic industries and
validity Japan as the flying geese in Asian electronic industries. The empirical result shows that all Asian countries are divergence except Italy, India, United Kingdom and Indonesia. The study suggest that each of the Asian convergence countries should cooperate, give their obligation and commitment to track in the same direction of economic structure, political will and the income distribution of a country. This action could promote economic integration between Asian countries as a whole
Anomalous metamagnetism in the low carrier density Kondo lattice YbRh3Si7
We report complex metamagnetic transitions in single crystals of the new low
carrier Kondo antiferromagnet YbRh3Si7. Electrical transport, magnetization,
and specific heat measurements reveal antiferromagnetic order at T_N = 7.5 K.
Neutron diffraction measurements show that the magnetic ground state of
YbRh3Si7 is a collinear antiferromagnet where the moments are aligned in the ab
plane. With such an ordered state, no metamagnetic transitions are expected
when a magnetic field is applied along the c axis. It is therefore surprising
that high field magnetization, torque, and resistivity measurements with H||c
reveal two metamagnetic transitions at mu_0H_1 = 6.7 T and mu_0H_2 = 21 T. When
the field is tilted away from the c axis, towards the ab plane, both
metamagnetic transitions are shifted to higher fields. The first metamagnetic
transition leads to an abrupt increase in the electrical resistivity, while the
second transition is accompanied by a dramatic reduction in the electrical
resistivity. Thus, the magnetic and electronic degrees of freedom in YbRh3Si7
are strongly coupled. We discuss the origin of the anomalous metamagnetism and
conclude that it is related to competition between crystal electric field

The XXII World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics, sponsored by the International Society of Psychiatric Genetics, took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 12-16 October 2014. A total of 883 participants gathered to discuss the latest findings in the field. The following report was written by student and postdoctoral attendees. Each was assigned one or more sessions as a rapporteur. This manuscript represents topics covered in most, but not all of the oral presentations during the conference, and contains some of the major notable new findings reported

Field Research Is Essential to Counter Virological Threats
The interface between humans and wildlife is changing and, with it, the potential for pathogen introduction into humans has increased. Avian influenza is a prominent example, with an ongoing outbreak showing the unprecedented expansion of both geographic and host ranges. Research in the field is essential to understand this and other zoonotic threats. Only by monitoring dynamic viral populations and defining their biology in situ can we gather the information needed to ensure effective pandemic preparation.</p
