    Non-interference for deterministic interactive programs

    We consider the problem of defining an appropriate notion of non-interference (NI) for deterministic interactive programs. Previous work on the security of interactive programs by O'Neill, Clarkson and Chong (CSFW 2006) builds on earlier ideas due to Wittbold and Johnson (Symposium on Security and Privacy 1990), and argues for a notion of NI defined in terms of strategies modelling the behaviour of users. We show that, for deterministic interactive programs, it is not necessary to consider strategies and that a simple stream model of the users' behaviour is sufficient. The key technical result is that, for deterministic programs, stream-based NI implies the apparently more general strategy-based NI (in fact we consider a wider class of strategies than those of O'Neill et al). We give our results in terms of a simple notion of Input-Output Labelled Transition System, thus allowing application of the results to a large class of deterministic interactive programming languages

    Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is guidance of work stages to perform tasks based on function and tools of work assessment made systematically in order to maintaining bureaucratic effectively and efficiently. SOP arranged to abridging, straightening, and ordering tasks which it is contained chronology of process in performing tasks from the beginning task until the last task. Therefore, in making of halal certification, LPPOM MUI as executioner of the process has arranged a plot of SOP systematically before the certification being published including catering enterprise. Facts on field that society and producer are in misperception to SOP halal licence publication. This research aimed to understand SOP of halal licence and its application to Catering Enterprise in Pekanbaru City.Theory of concept which is used by researcher is SOP theory by Purnamasari, which indicators such as Consistency, Efficiency, Minimization of Error, Problem Resolution and Working Map. This research use qualitative research method which data analyzed descriptively. In data collecting, researcher use interview technique, observation and documentation. With using technique of purposive sampling as source of information and triangulation technique as source of data validityResult of this research shows that SOP of Halal Certification by LPPOM MUI Riau generally and catering enterprise particularly is good enough, nevertheless not implemented maximally based on efficiency which is not fast by time and precise along with lack of public socialization to society or producers in Pekanbaru City. On the other hand, process that working manually made execution of certification still not fast by time and Halal Guarantee System (HGS) not fully implemented by LPPOM to catering enterprise in Pekanbaru City

    Sicily, the largest Mediterranean island, is surrounded by many small islands (Aeolian Islands, Ustica, Aegadian Islands, Pantelleria, Linosa, Lampedusa, Maltese Islands), some of which forming archipelagoes. The authors, after a historical sketch of the research on Neuropterida in Sicily (sensu lato), analyze the biodiversity of the area, highlighting the species richness and providing an up-to-date check-list. The lack of knowledge on some of the most paradigmatic communities of Neuropterida is discussed in relation to their various habitats. The distributional patterns of Sicilian Neuropterida are interpreted in order to obtain a biogeographical characterization of the area. This paper extends Archery to cope with the patterns' structural dimension through a set of (re-)configuration combinators and constraints that all instances of a pattern must obey. Both types and instances of architectural patterns are semantically represented as bigraphical reactive systems and operations upon them as reaction rules.     Colostrum from cows immunized with a veterinary vaccine against bovine rotavirus displays enhanced in vitro anti-human rotavirus activity

    Human rotaviruses represent a major cause of severe diarrheal disease in infants and young children. The limited impact of oral vaccines on global estimates of rotavirus mortality and the suboptimal use of oral rehydration justify the need for alternative prophylactic and therapeutic strategies, especially for immunocompromised hosts. The protective effects of colostrum\u2014the first milk produced during the initial 24 to 48 h after parturition\u2014are well documented in the literature. In particular, the ingestion of hyperimmune bovine colostrum has been proposed as an alternative preventive approach against human rotavirus gastroenteritis. Although the immunization of pregnant cows with human rotavirus boosts the release of specific immunoglobulin G in bovine colostrum, it raises regulatory and safety issues. In this study, we demonstrated that the conventional bovine rotavirus vaccine is sufficient to enhance the anti-human rotavirus protective efficacy of bovine colostrum, thus providing a conservative approach to produce hyperimmune bovine colostrum, making it exploitable as a functional food

    Silkworm pupae as source of high-value edible proteins and of bioactive peptides

    To characterize the high-value protein content and to discover new bioactive peptides, present in edible organisms, as silkworm pupae, semiquantitative analytical approach has been applied. The combination of appropriate protein extraction methods, semiquantitative high-resolution mass spectrometry analyses of peptides, in silico bioactivity and gene ontology analyses, allowed protein profiling of silkworm pupae (778 gene products) and the characterization of bioactive peptides. The semiquantitative analysis, based on the measurement of the emPAI, revealed the presence of high-abundance class of proteins, such as larval storage protein (LSP) class. This class of proteins, beside its nutrient reservoir activity, is of great pharmaceutical interest for their efficacy in cardiovascular diseases. Potential allergens were also characterized and quantified, such as arginine kinase, thiol peroxiredoxin, and Bom m 9. This powerful bioanalytical approach proved the potential industrial applications of Bombyx mori pupae, as source of high-value proteins in a green and \u201ccircular\u201d economy perspective

    Insights into the effects of N-glycosylation on the characteristics of the VC1 domain of the human receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) secreted by Pichia pastoris

    Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and advanced lipoxidation end products (ALEs), resulting from non-enzymatic modifications of proteins, are potentially harmful to human health. They directly act on proteins, affecting structure and function, or through receptor-mediated mechanisms. RAGE, a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, was identified as a receptor for AGEs. RAGE is involved in chronic inflammation, oxidative stress-based diseases and ageing. The majority of RAGE ligands bind to the VC1 domain. This domain was successfully expressed and secreted by Pichia pastoris. Out of two N-glycosylation sites, one (Asn25) was fully occupied while the other (Asn81) was under-glycosylated, generating two VC1 variants, named p36 and p34. Analysis of N-glycans and of their influence on VC1 properties were here investigated. The highly sensitive procainamide labeling method coupled to ES-MS was used for N-glycan profiling. N-glycans released from VC1 ranged from Man9GlcNAc2- to Man15GlcNAc2- with major Man10GlcNAc2- and Man11GlcNAc2- species for p36 and p34, respectively. Circular dichroism spectra indicated that VC1 maintains the same conformation also after removal of N-glycans. Thermal denaturation curves showed that the carbohydrate moiety has a small stabilizing effect on VC1 protein conformation. The removal of the glycan moiety did not affect the binding of VC1 to sugar-derived AGE- or malondialdehyde-derived ALE-human serum albumin. Given the crucial role of RAGE in human pathologies, the features of VC1 from P. pastoris will prove useful in designing strategies for the enrichment of AGEs/ALEs from plasma, urine or tissues, and in characterizing the nature of the interaction

    Exploiting the Hierarchical Structure of Rule-Based Specifications for Decision Planning

    Rule-based specifications have been very successful as a declarative approach in many domains, due to the handy yet solid foundations offered by rule-based machineries like term and graph rewriting. Realistic problems, however, call for suitable techniques to guarantee scalability. For instance, many domains exhibit a hierarchical structure that can be exploited conveniently. This is particularly evident for composition associations of models. We propose an explicit representation of such structured models and a methodology that exploits it for the description and analysis of model- and rule-based systems. The approach is presented in the framework of rewriting logic and its efficient implementation in the rewrite engine Maude and is illustrated with a case study.
