On the Mass Eigenstate Composition of the 8B Neutrinos from the Sun
The present data of gallium experiments provide indirectly the only
experimental limit on the fraction of mass eigenstate for the B
neutrinos from the Sun. However, if to use the experimental data alone, the
fraction of and, consequently, still is allowed to
be varied within a rather broad range. The further experimental efforts are

Neutrino oscillations with disentanglement of a neutrino from its partners
We bring attention to the fact that in order to understand existing data on
neutrino oscillations, and to design future experiments, it is imperative to
appreciate the role of quantum entanglement. Once this is accounted for, the
resulting energy-momentum conserving phenomenology requires a single new
parameter related to disentanglement of a neutrino from its partners. This
parameter may not be CP symmetric. We illustrate the new ideas, with
potentially measurable effects, in the context of a novel experiment recently
proposed by Gavrin, Gorbachev, Veretenkin, and Cleveland. The strongest impact
of our ideas is on the resolution of various anomalies in neutrino oscillations
and on neutrino propagation in astrophysical environments.Comment: 6 page
Pair Production of Fourth Family Charged Sleptons at Colliders
We study the pair production of , which is the supersymmetric
partner of the fourth family charged lepton, at the colliders. It
is shown that the investigation of this process at ILC/CLIC will give

Solving Solar Neutrino Puzzle via LMA MSW Conversion
We analyze the existing solar neutrino experiment data and show the allowed
regions. The result from SNO's salt phase itself restricts quite a lot the
allowed region's area. Reactor neutrinos play an important role in determining
oscillation parameters. KamLAND gives decisive conclusion on the solution to
the solar neutrino puzzle, in particular, the spectral distortion in the 766.3
Ty KamLAND data gives another new improvement in the constraint of solar
MSW-LMA solutions. We confirm that at 99.73% C.L. the high-LMA solution is

CP Violation and Lifetime Differences of Neutral B Mesons from Correlated B^0-B^0bar Pairs
We present a technique to determine the CP violating phases, as well as, the
lifetime differences of the mass eigenstates for both and , by
considering correlated pairs produced at the resonances.
We do not require a detailed time dependent study, but only partial time
integrated rates, with the tag time, either preceding or following the decay of
the other meson to a final state f. f may be a CP eigenstate or a non-CP

New Physics in Bs -> J/psi phi: a General Analysis
Recently, the CDF and D0 collaborations measured indirect CP violation in Bs
-> J/psi phi and found a hint of a signal. If taken at face value, this can be
interpreted as a nonzero phase of Bs-Bsbar mixing (beta_s), in disagreement
with the standard model, which predicts that beta_s ~= 0. In this paper, we
argue that this analysis may be incomplete. In particular, there can be new
physics (NP) in the bbar -> sbar c cbar decay. If so, the value of beta_s is
different than for the case in which NP is assumed to be present only in the
mixing. We have examined several models of NP and found that, indeed, there can
be significant contributions to the decay. These effects are consistent with
measurements in B -> J/psi K* and Bd -> J/psi Ks. Due to the NP in the decay,
polarization-dependent indirect CP asymmetries and triple-product asymmetries

Wind assessment for micro wind turbines in an urban environment
Wind flow in urban environments could be seen as a potential source of energy. This form of energy could be exploited by means of micro wind turbines placed along the existing infrastructures. To test this, an outdoor campaign was organised, which recorded the wind characteristics at different locations around a highway noise barrier in Delft, the Netherlands. The real-time data set was validated with a two-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics study. Both the influence of the high turbulence and the inflow angle on the positioning of the micro wind turbines are assessed for the case of perpendicular flow towards the plane of the noise barrier. Results indicated that integrating micro wind turbines with the noise barriers proves advantageous due to the flow velocity increment downstream. Lastly, a noise assessment was conducted in order to determine the optimal spacing between micro wind turbines, which impacts its social acceptance
Supernova Neutrinos and the LSND Evidence for Neutrino Oscillations
The observation of the energy spectrum from a supernova burst
can provide constraints on neutrino oscillations. We derive formulas for
adiabatic oscillations of supernova antineutrinos for a variety of 3- and
4-neutrino mixing schemes and mass hierarchies which are consistent with the
LSND evidence for oscillations.
Finally, we explore the constraints on these models and LSND given by the
supernova SN1987A 's observed by the Kamiokande-2 and IMB-3

High-level expression of biologically active glycoprotein hormones in Pichia pastoris strains—selection of strain GS115, and not X-33, for the production of biologically active N-glycosylated 15N-labeled phCG
The methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris is widely used for the production of recombinant glycoproteins. With the aim to generate biologically active 15N-labeled glycohormones for conformational studies focused on the unravelling of the NMR structures in solution, the P. pastoris strains GS115 and X-33 were explored for the expression of human chorionic gonadotropin (phCG) and human follicle-stimulating hormone (phFSH). In agreement with recent investigations on the N-glycosylation of phCG, produced in P. pastoris GS115, using ammonia/glycerol-methanol as nitrogen/carbon sources, the N-glycosylation pattern of phCG, synthesized using NH4Cl/glucose–glycerol–methanol, comprised neutral and charged, phosphorylated high-mannose-type N-glycans (Man8–15GlcNAc2). However, the changed culturing protocol led to much higher amounts of glycoprotein material, which is of importance for an economical realistic approach of the aimed NMR research. In the context of these studies, attention was also paid to the site specific N-glycosylation in phCG produced in P. pastoris GS115. In contrast to the rather simple N-glycosylation pattern of phCG expressed in the GS115 strain, phCG and phFSH expressed in the X-33 strain revealed, besides neutral high-mannose-type N-glycans, also high concentrations of neutral hypermannose-type N-glycans (Manup-to-30GlcNAc2). The latter finding made the X-33 strain not very suitable for generating 15N-labeled material. Therefore, 15N-phCG was expressed in the GS115 strain using the new optimized protocol. The 15N-enrichment was evaluated by 15N-HSQC NMR spectroscopy and GLC-EI/MS. Circular dichroism studies indicated that 15N-phCG/GS115 had the same folding as urinary hCG. Furthermore, 15N-phCG/GS115 was found to be similar to the unlabeled protein in every respect as judged by radioimmunoassay, radioreceptor assays, and in vitro bioassays
Search for low energy neutrinos in correlation with the 8 events observed by the EXPLORER and NAUTILUS detectors in 2001
We report on a search for low-energy neutrino (antineutrino) bursts in
correlation with the 8 time coincident events observed by the gravitational
waves detectors EXPLORER and NAUTILUS (GWD) during the year 2001. The search,
conducted with the LVD detector (INFN Gran Sasso National Laboratory, Italy),
has considered several neutrino reactions, corresponding to different neutrino
species, and a wide range of time intervals around the (GWD) observed events.
No evidence for statistically significant correlated signals in LVD has been
found. Assuming two different origins for neutrino emission, the cooling of a
neutron star from a core-collapse supernova or from coalescing neutron stars
and the accretion of shocked matter, and taking into account neutrino
oscillations, we derive limits to the total energy emitted in neutrinos and to
