Pairing of Parafermions of Order 2: Seniority Model
As generalizations of the fermion seniority model, four multi-mode
Hamiltonians are considered to investigate some of the consequences of the
pairing of parafermions of order two. 2-particle and 4-particle states are
explicitly constructed for H_A = - G A^+ A with A^+}= 1/2 Sum c_{m}^+ c_{-m}^+
and the distinct H_C = - G C^+ C with C^+}= 1/2 Sum c_{-m}^+ c_{m}^+, and for
the time-reversal invariant H_(-)= -G (A^+ - C^+)(A-C) and H_(+) = -G
(A^+dagger + C^+)(A+C), which has no analogue in the fermion case. The spectra
and degeneracies are compared with those of the usual fermion seniority model.Comment: 18 pages, no figures, no macro

Wick ordering for coherent state quantization in 1+1 de Sitter space
We show that the coherent state quantization of massive particles in 1+1 de
Sitter space exhibits an ordering property: There exist some classical
observables and such that , where is the quantum observable corresponding to the classical
observable .Comment: Accepted in Phys. Lett.
Negative Ion Drift and Diffusion in a TPC near 1 Bar
Drift velocity and longitudinal diffusion measurements are reported for a
Negative Ion TPC (NITPC) operating with Helium + carbon disulfide gas mixtures
at total pressures from 160 to 700 torr. Longitudinal diffusion at the
thermal-limit was observed for drift fields up to at least 700 V/cm in all gas
mixtures tested. The results are of particular interest in connection with
mechanical simplification of Dark Matter searches such as DRIFT, and for high
energy physics experiments in which a low-Z, low density, gaseous tracking
detector with no appreciable Lorentz drift is needed for operation in very high
magnetic fields.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure
Free Relativistic Anyons with Canonical Spin Algebra
We discuss a relativistic free particle with fractional spin in 2+1
dimensions, where the dual spin components satisfy the canonical angular
momentum algebra . It is shown that it is a general consequence of these
features that the Poincar\`e invariance is broken down to the Lorentz one, so
indicating that it is not possible to keep simultaneously the free nature of
the anyon and the translational invariance.Comment: Complete version with reference
GEM Operation in Negative Ion Drift Gas Mixtures
The first operation of GEM gas gain elements in negative ion gas mixtures is
reported. Gains up to several thousand were obtained from single-stage GEMs in
carbon disulfide vapor at low pressure, and in mixtures of carbon disulfide
with Argon and Helium, some near 1 bar total pressure.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure
The State-Vector Space for Two-Mode Parabosons and Charged Parabose Coherent States
The structure of the state-vector space for the two-mode parabose system is
investigated and a complete set of state-vectors is constructed. The basis
vectors are orthonormal in order . In order , conserved-charge
parabose coherent states are constructed and an explicit completeness relation
is obtained.Comment: 13 pages, LaTeX file, no figures and no macro
A Simple Action for a Free Anyon
By studying classical realizations of the sl(2,R) algebra in a two
dimensional phase space , we have derived a continuous family of new
actions for free anyons in 2+1 dimensions. For the case of light-like spin
vector , the action is remarkably simple. We show the
appearence of the Zitterbewegung in the solutions of the equations of motion,
and relate the actions to others in the literature at classical level.Comment: 15 pages, Plain Late
