Mirror instability in a plasma with cold gyrating dust particles
In this work linear stability analysis of a magnetized dusty plasma with an
anisotropic dust component having transversal motions much stronger than
motions parallel to the external magnetic field, and isotropic light plasma
components is described. Such a situation presumably establishes in a shock
compressed space dusty plasma downstream the shock front. Oblique low-frequency
magneto-hydrodynamic waves (, being the
dust cyclotron frequency) are shown to be undergone to the mirror instability.
Consequences for nonthermal dust destruction behind shock fronts in the
interstellar medium are discussed.Comment: 13 pages, 5 figs, accepted to Phys. Pasma
National and patriotic traditions of upbringing in Russia: history and modernity
The paper discusses survey results of a complex and multifaceted phenomenon β the fundamentals of national education and upbringing of younger generations. It is known that the idea of multiculturalism in upbringing is currently recognized as untenable. That is why Europe and other countries of the world, again, turned to the basics of traditional upbringing, where religions continue to hold their place like a moral tuning fork
The Motives for Corporate Identification of the Contemporary Russian University
AbstractThe paper addresses the problem of reexamining the identification of the contemporary Russian university in connection with its new corporate tendencies. We propose to see in corporatism and corporate culture of the university its value-oriented, spiritually-moral meaning that ensures ethical norms of human behavior in the network society. Seen from this perspective, corporate culture does not contradict the professional university culture, and appears to be necessary for training graduates and professionals who are capable of answering the challenges of the contemporary professional world
On the algorithm of determination of immobile indices for convex SIP problems
We consider convex Semi-Infinite Programming (SIP) problems with a continuum
of constraints. For these problems we introduce new concepts of immobility
orders and immobile indices. These concepts are objective and important characteristics
of the feasible sets of the convex SIP problems since they make it possible
to formulate optimality conditions for these problems in terms of optimality conditions
for some NLP problems (with a finite number of constraints). In the paper we
describe a finite algorithm (DIO algorithm) of determination of immobile indices
together with their immobility orders, study some important properties of this algorithm,
and formulate the Implicit Optimality Criterion for convex SIP without any
constraint qualification conditions (CQC). An example illustrating the application
of the DIO algorithm is provided
Convex semi-infinite programming: implicit optimality criterion based on the concept of immobile points
The paper deals with convex Semi-InΒ―nite Programming (SIP) problems. A new
concept of immobility order is introduced and an algorithm of determination of the
immobility orders (DIO algorithm) and so called immobile points is suggested. It is
shown that in the presence of the immobile points SIP problems do not satisfy the
Slater condition. Given convex SIP problem, we determine all its immobile points
and use them to formulate a Nonlinear Programming (NLP) problem in a special
form. It is proved that optimality conditions for the (inΒ―nite) SIP problem can be
formulated in terms of the analogous conditions for the corresponding (Β―nite) NLP
problem. The main result of the paper is the Implicit Optimality Criterion that
permits to obtain new eΒ±cient optimality conditions for the convex SIP problems
(even not satisfying the Slater condition) using the known results of the optimality
theory of NLP
Optimality criteria without constraint qualications for linear semidenite problems
We consider two closely related optimization problems: a problem of convex Semi-
Infinite Programming with multidimensional index set and a linear problem of Semidefinite Programming. In study of these problems we apply the approach suggested in our recent paper [14] and based on the notions of immobile indices and their immobility orders. For the linear semidefinite problem, we define the subspace of immobile indices and formulate the first order optimality conditions in terms of a basic matrix of this subspace.
These conditions are explicit, do not use constraint qualifications, and have the form of criterion. An algorithm determining a basis of the subspace of immobile indices in a finite number of steps is suggested. The optimality conditions obtained are compared with other known optimality conditions
Self-determination of youth and traditional moral values: the role of Russian literature
The article aims to prove the assumption that along with the known approaches to encouraging cultural diversity in education (critical, pluralistic, acculturation), a new methodological approach should be defined β that of forming the culturally-oriented world-view on the basis of personal self-determination in the traditional moral values, as represented in the national culture. The authors present their own definition of traditional moral values and analyse the way they are reflected in the classical Russian literature. The authors present the results of a field study designed to determine whether this reflective tradition is followed or interrupted in the modern Russian prose in the end of Π₯Π₯th β beginning of XXIst centuries
Necessary Conditions for Optimality in Problems of Optimal Control of Systems with Discontinuous Right-Hand Side
We consider the problems of optimal control of a dynamical system whose right-hand side is discontinuous in the state variable and is linear in the control with sufficiently smooth coefficients in each of the half-spaces into which the space is divided by the switching hyperplane. The main attention is paid to the situation where there exist intervals on which the optimal trajectory lies on the switching surface. New nondegenerate necessary conditions for optimality are stated and proved in the maximum principle form. The obtained optimality conditions are compared with the already known conditions
Historical Retrospective Review of Idea of University: Complementarily of Reason and Spirituality
Background: In the paper the Idea of the University and its transformations throughout the history are analysed. The content of the Idea of the University was based on understanding of spirituality when the man is upcoming to enlightening. Religion, philosophy, and education get together, when spirituality is defined as the categories and personal characteristics of a human. According to philosophy, spirituality is a non-physical way of a human being, which was granted to him as the ability of self-education. Religion understands spirituality as invariant of enlightening. The scientific-methodical apparatus of education was created to realize the potential ways for raising a person to enlightening in secular or religious schools. The spiritual aura was constantly presented at the University. Methods: A general philosophical approach and comparative historical method were used in the research. Results: Understanding the role of spirituality in the University education was absolutely manifested. The University was based on the idea of going up from individual towards the Universal Truth and Absolute Spirit. Knowledge and Truth are ideological categories of the University. Truth contained the spirituality and rational knowledge in the unity. Conclusions: The University has not lost its Idea throughout the history. The basic conclusion of the paper is that its Idea as well as its essence is the change of its criteria in response to the new historical reality
The transformation of the cultural memory through a prism of the Cyberspace
The paper considers the analysis of the cultural memory, which at the beginning of the XXI century underwent essential changes. The beginning of the memory research as a special phenomenon belongs to the Russian scientist, Nikolaj Miljukov [1] who has proved the emergence of social memory with the emergence of the intellectuals. In the article βIntellectuals and Historical Traditionβ, Miljukov emphasizes the importance of social memory for the forward positive development of society. Since Halbwachs social memory gets the status of the independent research project. At the end of the XIX century the main theoretical concepts of social memory are formed: cultural and historical, semiotics, informational, psychological. The beginning of the third millennium is marked by the basic change of research trajectories of social memory. Specific research projects are put in the forefront. Such articles can be used as an example. The main research objective consists in the identification of the sociocultural bases of the transformation of social memory research. In modern investigations of the cultural memory, this phenomenon finds the new paradigmatic characteristics, which are fully submitted in the modern Internet space
