Automatic affective dimension recognition from naturalistic facial expressions based on wavelet filtering and PLS regression

Automatic affective dimension recognition from facial expression continuously in naturalistic contexts is a very challenging research topic but very important in human-computer interaction. In this paper, an automatic recognition system was proposed to predict the affective dimensions such as Arousal, Valence and Dominance continuously in naturalistic facial expression videos. Firstly, visual and vocal features are extracted from image frames and audio segments in facial expression videos. Secondly, a wavelet transform based digital filtering method is applied to remove the irrelevant noise information in the feature space. Thirdly, Partial Least Squares regression is used to predict the affective dimensions from both video and audio modalities. Finally, two modalities are combined to boost overall performance in the decision fusion process. The proposed method is tested in the fourth international Audio/Visual Emotion Recognition Challenge (AVEC2014) dataset and compared to other state-of-the-art methods in the affect recognition sub-challenge with a good performance

Kawin siri umumnya terjadi karena pasangan suami istri yang berbeda tempat tinggal seperti dalam rangka penugasan yang berbeda, oleh karena pihak istri sudah mengalami monopause, atau karena pihak suami berselingkuh dengan perempuan lainnya dan melakukan perkawinan di bawah tangan, tidak tercatat, dan bahkan tanpa diketahui oleh istri yang sah dan tanpa restunya. 2. Speedboat merupakan salah satu moda yang mengbungkan pusat kota Ternate dengan pusat kota Tidore Kepulauan. Meningkatnya pelaku perjalanan menggunakan moda ini menuntut perlunya perhatian terhadap aspek Kenyamanan dan keselamatan pengguna moda. Kondisi di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa moda speedboat beraktivitas pada siang maupun malam hari, pada berbagai cuaca dan mengangkut bukan hanya manusia namun juga barang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pelayanan speedboat menurut penilain pengguna moda menggunakan metode analisis Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). IPA digunakan untuk memetakan hubungan antara importance (kepentingan) dengan performance (kinerja) dari masing-masing atribut pelayanan menurut penilaian penumpang speedboat Ternate-Tidore. Tingkat pelayanan moda transportasi speedboat Ternate-Tidore menggunakan metode IPA didapatkan variabel yang memiliki kepentingan/Harapan yang tinggi namun pada kinerja/realita tidak cukup baik, yaitu variabel penerangan di malam hari, ketersediaan baju pelampung/life jacket dan ketersediaan kotak P3K. Sedangkan variabel yang dianggap kurang penting oleh penumpang, tetapi kinerjanya baik sehingga penumpang menganggap kinerja tersebut berlebihan, yaitu variabel layanan informasi dan tarif speedboat, ketersediaan pelontar . Integrin-mediated adhesion regulates membrane order

The properties of cholesterol-dependent domains (lipid rafts) in cell membranes have been controversial. Because integrin-mediated cell adhesion and caveolin both regulate trafficking of raft components, we investigated the effects of adhesion and caveolin on membrane order. The fluorescent probe Laurdan and two-photon microscopy revealed that focal adhesions are highly ordered; in fact, they are more ordered than caveolae or domains that stain with cholera toxin subunit B (CtxB). Membrane order at focal adhesion depends partly on phosphorylation of caveolin1 at Tyr14, which localizes to focal adhesions. Detachment of cells from the substratum triggers a rapid, caveolin-independent decrease in membrane order, followed by a slower, caveolin-dependent decrease that correlates with internalization of CtxB-stained domains. Endocytosed CtxB domains also become more fluid. Thus, membrane order is highly dependent on caveolae and focal adhesions. These results show that lipid raft properties are conferred by assembly of specific protein complexes. The ordered state within focal adhesions may have important consequences for signaling at these sites

Differential Double-Excitation Cross Sections in 50-150-keV Proton-Helium Collisions

We have measured projectile-energy-loss spectra for 50-, 100-, and 150-keV p+He collisions. From the data we obtained differential double-excitation cross sections as a function of projectile scattering angle. At 150 keV a pronounced peak structure was observed at about 0.7 mrad for double excitation to the (2p2) 1D and (2s2p) 1P states. Our data provide indications for the dominance of a first-order mechanism involving the electron-electron interaction in double excitation for 150 keV at small scattering angles. At lower projectile energies and larger scattering angles a second-order mechanism appears to be of the same order of magnitude as the first-order mechanism. In these regimes, interference effects between the first- and second-order mechanisms could be important
