Exploration of the relationship between information systems (IS) activity and marketing activity in the case of 'X' Airlines in developing country
Connecting IS/IT strategy with business strategy has become a crucial issue. The level of integration between business strategies requires explanation of interrelationships, in order to achieve business goals with the available resources and markets conditions. This research is a holistic examination of the relationship between IS, business strategy and marketing in 'X' Airlines. Marketing is considered as core activity. The research design involves qualitative method. It covers the literature on IS integration, a case study approach to understand 'how' and 'why' in using IS in 'X'. The research discusses existing frameworks, both theoretical and practical, of IS strategic integration. The results show that there are relationships of traditional kind as back office support of IS for business strategy and marketing within 'X'

Evaluation of strategic information systems planning (SISP) techniques: Driver perspective
Strategic Information Systems Planning (SISP) literature reviews with a focus on the global dimension are considered in this research. The paper counters the evaluation of SISP techniques through information system (IS) strategic drivers. These techniques can be vital contributors in the IS strategy (ISS) designing process. Therefore, categorisation of the techniques of ISS planning will be developed. Keeping in mind the global dimension, the planning team needs to identify how it can cluster an organization’s ISS drivers. This may be achieved by analysing the drivers that can have an effect on IS for the organization, which may support categorisation of drivers against techniques being classified to understand which are needed to fit specific drivers. The contribution of this research is the taxonomy of SISP techniques, with a case study for X international airlines. This classification can benefit evaluation of the ISS planning processes to support decision-makers through the planning process

Examining the strategic benefits of information systems: A global case study
In the context of the emerging evaluation of Information Systems (IS) as strategic enablers, this paper critically reviews the literature relating to the strategic benefits of IS. Understanding the importance of IS benefits can be significant in the development of strategy in an organisation, although most organisations have diverse environments and, likewise, diverse benefits for decision-makers. Thus, taxonomies of the benefits of IS are produced from both the academic literature and published case studies. In this way, a classification of benefits as they relate to organisational strategic focus has been developed to provide a greater understanding of the benefits needed to obtain a specific focus. The result of this paper is a taxonomy of IS benefits in the strategic focus of IS, using Y bank as a case study. This categorisation can support the evaluation of IS processes, which will, in turn, support decision-makers throughout the planning process

Conducting of the linkage between information systems strategy (ISS) and Operation Strategy in the case of 'X' Airlines in Arabic gulf country
The integration of IS/IT strategy with other business units' strategies has become an important issue. The layer of integration through business strategies requires an explanation of interrelationships so that business objectives appropriate to the available resources and market conditions can be established. This study is a comprehensive examination of the relationship between IS and operational strategy at 'X' Airlines. Operation is considered one of the core activities at 'X'. In this study, the researcher employs a qualitative method, presenting the literature on IS integration and utilising a case study approach to understand the how and why of using IS at 'X'. This study discusses the existing frameworks, both theoretical and practical, for IS strategic integration. The results show that there are strong relationships but as a traditional kind of back office support of IS for operational strategy within 'X'

What drives consumers' e-loyalty to airlines web site? Conceptual framework and managerial implications
This study proposes a revised technology acceptance model that integrates expectation confirmation theory to measure continuance intentions of online shopping for airlines web sites. The sample respondent 465online users in Saudi Arabia. A structural equation model confirms model fit. Perceived usefulness, enjoyment, social pressure, and loyalty incentives are determinants of online flight booking continuance in Saudi Arabia. This research moves beyond online booking intentions and includes factors affecting online booking continuance. The research model explains 53% of the intention to continue booking using airlines web sites
From the Prospective of Ergonomics: Estimating Overall Stressors and Task Demands in the Construction Sites in Saudi Arabia Using an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)
651-658Balancing individual capabilities with occupational demands and workplace stressors is necessary to reduce stress and prevent ergonomic and safety hazards. This is particularly true in occupations like construction that are characterized by numerous stressors, intense perceived overall demands, environmental factors, physical and mental loads, awkward postures, and organizational and personal factors in particular in Saudi Arabia. The current study proposes a subjective tool for assessing the impact of stressors on overall task demand (OTD). The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to estimate the OTD and identify the factors that contribute to it. The OTD assessment tool survey participants were 524 male and was validated at actual construction worksites with 168 workers distributed among 7 jobs. The findings showed that OTD was significantly affected by occupational demands and identified a relationship among OTD, physiological measures and the NASA-TLX score. The proposed framework can help decision-makers and supervisors identify task demands, determine risk factors, and develop strategies for balancing job demands and worker capability
Availability assessment of free-space-optics links with rain data from tropical climates
Rainfall in tropical environments acts as a dominant
parameter for estimating the availability of free-space optics (FSO). Long fades are caused by precipitation in particular heavy rains, and this precipitation increases atmospheric attenuation due to rain and reduces the availability of optical power from FSO links. In this
paper, the link availability of an FSO system is estimated under the impact of rain in a tropical climate. The influence of rain on the propagation of FSO signal is investigated based on experimental and statistical analyses of rain-rate measurements under tropical conditions. Rain-rate data are measured in Malaysia for three years
and used to estimate the availability of FSO links. Models developed in Malaysia are used to predict atmospheric attenuation due to rain. Long-term statistical measurements of rain data can enable good estimation of link availability. Based on the prediction model and
measured rain-rate data, the FSO link budget is analyzed, and the link availability as a function of distance is predicted. Carrier class availability limits the FSO link to a few hundred meters only, whereas enterprise class availability can exceed FSO links over a few
kilometers long

A review of effectiveness of Saudi E-government data security management
Security of data has always been a contested issue since the internet became the way of life. The internet and Web 2.0 followed by Web 3.0 have enabled many applications for the use of the citizens. E-government is one of them. Questions have always been raised about the security of data in E-government applications and services. Saudi Arabia is one of the developing countries when it comes to the internet-based services. This paper attempts to review the effectiveness of security policies when dealing with threats and vulnerabilities. We shall study these aspects in the context of Saudi Arabian E-government. E-government, anywhere in the world is a very sensitive area when it comes to ensuring security of the users as well as the corporate data. Breach in security of user data may have catastrophic implications in some cases
Availability analysis of terrestrial free space optical link under the impact of rain condition
Availability is one of the main factors to measure the QoS of any telecommunication networks. An accurate availability prediction for Free Space Optical link of carrier class grade is needed. In tropical areas, rain is the most dominant factor affecting the FSO link availability. In this paper, the effect of rain attenuation on the availability of FSO links is analyzed by examining the impact distance of different FSO systems. As the rain attenuation of FSO is independent of wavelength, the analysis of rain attenuation will be based on rain intensity. ITU-R (Carbonneau and Japan) models have been used for the analysis. From the results; Carrier class availability with good enough resolution for estimated availability can be predicted. This paper provides recommendations to FSO researchers in general and local telecom service provider in particular about possible availability figures that can be useful for deployment of FSO link as a last mile solution, back-up for fiber optic and other applications
