    The Students’ mathematics learning outcomes of is still under the expected score. This condition is caused by the lack of students’ anthusiasm, students’ involvement in learning process. Research in applying Carousel Technique and Each One Teach One Technique have resulted a positive effect to students learning outcomes. These models motivate students to express their ideas, works independently and develop their creativity in solving the given problem. This research aims to compare the effectiveness of both technique. The randomized post test only comparison group design is used in the research. The population is all of students of grade 10th of SMAN 5 Pariaman in year 2015/2016. Two classes are chosen as samples. The annava t-test and SPSS software are used to test the hypothesis. Based on the data,  is obtained. Since , it means that  is rejected. It can be concluded there is significant differences between students’ learning outcome that is taught with applying Carousel Technique and students’ learning outcome Each One Teach One Technique

    Investment is a number of commitments or a number of funds or resources made at this time with the aim of obtaining future profits. One method that can be used to form an optimal portfolio is to use the mean variace approach. Asset selection is carried out on food commodities namely rice, eggs, cooking oil, granulated sugar, and red chili. From the data processing it is found that the weight of each commodity is cooking oil (99.95%), eggs (0.03%), granulated sugar (0.04%), red chili is negative (-0.02%), and rice (0.00%). So that it can be estimated that the expected profit is -0.0024% and risk is 0.0001%

    Student Errors in Mathematics Word Problem: What Can Be Learned?

    This study aims to understand better student errors in solving mathematics word problems. A Word problem is a problem that has a story or arrangement based on sentences. The qualitative research approach was used. The data were collected by giving tests and interviewing two male high achievers senior high school students in mathematics. The student error analysis adopted the Newman error analysis system. The source triangulation was used to ensure the data validity. Based on the collecting data and data analysis, the decoding/reading error happened caused by students' common understanding or unfamiliarity of the mathematical terms used in the problem. The subjects showed inconsistency in interpreting problem sentences and misused mathematical symbols. Furthermore, the subject encountered difficulties with the arithmetic process, especially fractions and their operation. This research identified students' difficulties in solving problem mathematics word problems. Moreover, this research provides evidence that encourages further research on mathematical literacy, mathematical communication skills, students' arithmetic skills, and the evaluation process of the problem-solving activity

    ABSTRAK Pemecahan masalah adalah usaha yang dilakukan untuk menemukan solusi terhadap masalah yang diberikan melalui tahapan memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan penyelesaian, dan memeriksa kembali. Berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 36 Bandar Lampung menunjukkan bahwa 83% siswa belum mencapai KKM kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran ARCS disertai teknik Carousel terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran ARCS, dan PBL, (2) mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kreatif (rendah, sedang, tinggi) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, (3) mengetahui interaksi antara model pembelajaran ARCS disertai teknik Carousel dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi Experimental. Populasi yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 36 Bandar Lampung. Sampel terdiri dari 3 kelas, yaitu kelas VIII G yang menjadi kelompok eksperimen I dengan penerapan model pembelajaran ARCS dan teknik Carousel, kelas VIII F sebagai kelompok eksperimen II dengan model pembelajaran ARCS, dan kelas VIII H sebagai kelompok yang menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Cluster Random Sampling. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji normalitas dan homogenitas, kemudian diikuti dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan Anova dua arah dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran ARCS disertai teknik Carousel terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, (2) Terdapat pengaruh antara siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif (rendah, sedang, dan tinggi) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, (3) Terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran ARCS disertai teknik Carousel dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran ARCS Disertai Teknik Carousel, Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Berpikir Kreatif. ABSTRACT Problem solving is an effort made to find a solution to a given problem through the stages of understanding the problem, planning the solution, implementing the solution, and checking back. Based on the results of pre-research conducted at SMP Negeri 36 Bandar Lampung, it shows that 83% of students have not reached the KKM of mathematical problem solving ability. The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the effect of ARCS learning model accompanied by Carousel technique on mathematical problem solving ability compared to ARCS learning model, and PBL, (2) to determine the effect of creative thinking ability (low, medium, high) on mathematical problem solving ability, (3) to determine the interaction between ARCS learning model accompanied by Carousel technique and creative thinking ability on mathematical problem solving ability. This research is a quantitative study with Quasi Experimental method. The population involved in this study were all grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 36 Bandar Lampung. The sample consisted of 3 classes, namely class VIII G which became experimental group I with the application of ARCS learning model and Carousel technique, class VIII F as experimental group II with ARCS learning model, and class VIII H as a group using PBL learning model. Sampling was conducted using the Cluster Random Sampling method. Data analysis in this study included normality and homogeneity tests, followed by hypothesis testing using two-way Anova with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that (1) there is an effect of ARCS learning model accompanied by Carousel technique on mathematical problem solving ability, (2) there is an effect between students with creative thinking ability (low, medium, and high) on mathematical problem solving ability, (3) there is an interaction between ARCS learning model accompanied by Carousel technique and students' creative thinking ability on mathematical problem solving ability.     Critical Thinking Skills Profile of High School Students In Learning Science-Physics

    This study aims to describe Critical Thinking Skills high school students in the city of Makassar. To achieve this goal, the researchers conducted an analysis of student test results of 200 people scattered in six schools in the city of Makassar. The results of the quantitative descriptive analysis of the data found that the average value of students doing the interpretation, analysis, and inference in a row by 1.53, 1.15, and 1.52. This value is still very low when compared with the maximum value that may be obtained by students, that is equal to 10.00. This shows that the critical thinking skills of high school students are still very low. One fact Competency Standards science subjects-Physics is demonstrating the ability to think logically, critically, and creatively with the guidance of teachers and demonstrate the ability to solve simple problems in daily life. In fact, according to Michael Scriven stated that the main task of education is to train students and or students to think critically because of the demands of work in the global economy, the survival of a democratic and personal decisions and decisions in an increasingly complex society needs people who can think well and make judgments good.
