Purpose: The aim of the present study was to compare the anesthetic efficacy, and fetal and maternal effects of 7.5 mg (1 ml) intrathecal 0.75% hyperbaric ropivacaine + 25 ìg (0.5 ml) fentanyl versus 5 mg (l ml) intrathecal 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine + 25 ìg (0.5 ml) fentanyl in elective cesarean delivery.Materials and Methods: The study included 40 ASA I–II cases scheduled for cesarean delivery that were randomized into two groups of 20 cases each. Cases in the RF group were administered 0.75% hyperbaric ropivacaine + 25 ìg (0.5 ml) fentanyl and those in the BF group were administered 5 mg (l ml) hyperbaric bupivacaine + 25 ìg (0.5 ml)fentanyl into the spinal space. The time until spinal anesthesia in the T4 dermatome, overall duration of analgesia, hemodynamic parameters, Apgar score of newborns at 1–5 min, fetal blood gas values (pH, PO2, PCO2, HCO3., and BE), maternal side effects, the degree of motor block, maternal need for ephedrine, objective pain scale score, and patient satisfaction were recorded in each group. Results: There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of the parameters evaluated (P > 0.05).Conclusion: In elective cesarean delivery, the combinations of bupivacaine + fentanyl or ropivacaine + fentanyl exhibited similar anesthetic efficacy, and fetal and maternal effects.Key words: Bupivacaine, cesarean, opioid, ropivacain

First-Principle Investigations of (Ti1-xVx)(2)FeGa.lloys. A Study on Structural, Magnetic, Electronic, and Elastic Properties

Get PDF
The structural, magnetic, electronic and elastic properties of ternary and quaternary (Ti1-xVx)(2)FeGa alloys with inverse-Heusler (XA) structure were investigated at x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1. The crystal structures of (Ti1 - xVx)(2)FeGa compounds are cubic (space group: F (3) over barm) with Hg2CuTi prototype for x = 0 and 1. At x = 0.5 the structure is also cubic (space group: F (3) over barm) with LiMgPdSn protype, while it is tetragonal (space group: P m2) at x = 0.25 and 0.75. Calculated optimized lattice parameters (a and c), bulk modulus (B), and elastic constants (C-ij) are consistent with the available data in the literature. Total and partial magnetic moments of (Ti1 - xVx)(2)FeGa alloys were obtained. An increase in the total magnetic moment values were observed upon addition of V to the Ti2FeGa alloy. From spin polarized band calculations, Ti2FeGa, (Ti0.75V0.25)(2)FeGa, TiVFeGa, and V2FeGa have a minority-spin energy gap of 0.65, 0.38, 0.83, and 0.64 eV, respectively, and they are guessed as half-metallic ferromagnets. According to the results of second-order elastic constants, these compounds met the Born mechanical stability criteria. In addition, according to Pugh criteria, it was found that they have a ductile structure and show anisotropic behavior

Micro-Raman, FTIR, SEM-EDX and structural analysis of the Canakkale meteorite

This study demonstrates for the first time, the spectroscopic characterization of Canakkale Meteorite that fell at Canakkale, Republic of Turkey (40 degrees 8'44 '' N; 26 degrees 24'23 '' E). The olivine group [(Mg, Fe)(2)SiO4], enstatite [Mg2Si2O6] (one of the orthopyroxene minerals) and plagioclase were identified by the micro-Raman and FTIR spectroscopies and EDX-SEM analyses. This meteorite has not yet been classified in the World's Database of Meteorites. The aim of this study is to investigate this meteorite by vibrational spectroscopic techniques and open the possibility to classify it and list in the World's Database of Meteorites. Performance Enhancement of İnverted Type Organic Solar Cells By Using Eu Doped TiO2 Thin Film

No full text
In the present work, europium (Eu) has been used as a dopant element in titanium dioxide (TiO2) crystal structure to enhance the photovoltaic performance of the inverted type organic solar cells fabricated with TiO2 thin film as an electron transport layer. Poly(3-hexylthiophene):phenylC61-butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT: PCBM) blend has been used as an active layer and Eu:TiO2 thin films have been fabricated with different Eu concentrations as 0, 1, 5, 7 and 10% (w/w) by sol-gel method. Effect of Eu doping concentration on the photovoltaic performance of the inverted type solar cells has been investigated. Inverted type organic solar cells using Eu doped TiO2 thin films as electron transport layer has been fabricated as a structure of ITO/Eu:TiO2/P3HT:PCBM/Ag. Power conversion efficiency of the fabricated solar cells increased from 1.16% to 2.47% at 5% Eu doping concentration. Electron transport and hole blocking properties of the TiO2 inter layer has been improved by Eu doping. © 2017 Elsevier B.V.Ahi Evran Üniversitesi: MMF.A3.16.009This research is supported by Ahi Evran University Grant no.: MMF.A3.16.009

We describe our experience of thorocal epidural anesthesia (TEA) in combination with general anesthesia in a male patient undergoing operation due to adenocarcinoma of the stomach. The patient 65 years old had a coronary angiography revealing that LAD 100%, 1.diagonal 98%, 1. septal 100% and circumflex 100% were occluded. After obtaining written informed consent, he has been taken to the operation room for monitorization. In the sitting position, epidural catheterisation was performed through T7-8 interspace. 200 mg 2% prilocain and 25 mg 5% bupivacain in a total volume of 15 ml were injected via the catheter. Anesthesia was induced with 2 mg/kg lidocain, 2 microgram/kg fentanyl, 2 mg/kg propofol and 0,1 mg/kg vecuronium. Maintanance was provided by 0.5% isoflurane in 50% O2 and N2O mixture. We observed no complication during pertoperative period. The patient has been discharged with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) suggestion. Tea in combination with general anesthesia was performed to decrease anesthetic and surgical risks. We aimed not only to increase O2 delivery and decrease of consumption tea by coronary vasodilation due to sympathetic blockage, but also decrease autonomic and endocrine response, obtain a hemodynamic stability and succeed postoperative analgesia. Spinodal Decomposition in Functionally Graded Super Duplex Stainless Steel and Weld Metal

Get PDF
Low-temperature phase separations (T < 500 °C), resulting in changes in mechanical and corrosion properties, of super duplex stainless steel (SDSS) base and weld metals were investigated for short heat treatment times (0.5 to 600 minutes). A novel heat treatment technique, where a stationary arc produces a steady state temperature gradient for selected times, was employed to fabricate functionally graded materials. Three different initial material conditions including 2507 SDSS, remelted 2507 SDSS, and 2509 SDSS weld metal were investigated. Selective etching of ferrite significantly decreased in regions heat treated at 435 °C to 480 °C already after 3 minutes due to rapid phase separations. Atom probe tomography results revealed spinodal decomposition of ferrite and precipitation of Cu particles. Microhardness mapping showed that as-welded microstructure and/or higher Ni content accelerated decomposition. The arc heat treatment technique combined with microhardness mapping and electrolytical etching was found to be a successful approach to evaluate kinetics of low-temperature phase separations in SDSS, particularly at its earlier stages. A time-temperature transformation diagram was proposed showing the kinetics of 475 °C-embrittlement in 2507 SDSS.First Online: 17 April 2018</p
