Secundariamente, queda actualizado el elenco de las traducciones de la Ilíada al castellanoThe author, by judging the concrete case of the translators of the Iliad into Spanish, shows how translations become old and have to be replaced by modern ones. But the also realizes that, paradoxically, these ones pursue a certain appearance of antiquity. So, besides the involuntary 'ageing' of old translations we find a voluntary 'ageing' in the modern ones. Here is where the author tries to develop the concept of 'ageing' and tries to delimitate the areas of both sorts of 'ageing'. The title, metaphorically, refers to this paradox. An up-to-date list of the translations of the Iliad into Spanish is also established in this wor
Based on a review of contemporary documents and literature, this article seeks to identify the actors and performers who took part in the first theatrical manifestations of 16th century colonial Mexico and to describe how they succeeded in appropriating their own performance spaces. The article analyzes the theatrical representations and performances that characterized the early years of colonial Mexico and describes the participation and role of their actors, the first actors in the history of Mexican theatre
Automatic design of neuromarkers for obsessive compulsive disorder characterisation
This bacherlor thesis proposes a new paradigm to discover biomarkers capable
of characterizing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) by means of machine
learning methods. These biomarkers, named neuromarkers, will be obtained
through the analysis of sets of magnetic resonance images of the brains of
OCD patients and healthy control subjects.
The design of the neuromarkers stems from a method for the automatic
discovery of clusters of voxels, distributed in separate brain regions, relevant
to OCD. This method was recently published by Dr. Emilio Parrado
Hernández, Dr. Vanessa Gómez Verdejo and Dr. Manel Martínez Ramón.
With these clusters as a starting point, we will de ne the neuromarkers as
a set of measurements describing features of these individual regions. Then
we will perform a selection of these neuromarkers, using state of the art
feature selection techniques, to arrive at a reduced, relevant and intuitive
set.
The results will be sent to Dr. Carles Soriano Mas at the Bellvitge University
Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. His feedback will be used to determine
the e cacy of our neuromarkers and their usefulness for psychiatric analysis.
The main goal of the project is to come up with a set of neuromarkers for
OCD characterisation that are easy to interpret and handle by the psychiatric
community.
A paper presenting the methods and results described in this bachelor
thesis, of which the student is the main author, has been submitted and accepted
for presentation in the 2014 European Congress of Machine Learning

Analysis and guidelines to obtain a good uniform fuzzy partition granularity for fuzzy rule-based systems using simulated annealing
In this contribution, we will analyse the importance of the fuzzy partition granularity for the linguistic variables in the design of fuzzy rule-based systems (FRBSs). In order to put this into effect, we will study the FRBS behaviour considering uniform fuzzy partitions with the same number of labels for all the linguistic variables, and considering uniform fuzzy partitions with any number of labels for each linguistic variable. We will present a method based on Simulated Annealing (SA) in order to obtain a good uniform fuzzy partition granularity that improves the FRBS behaviour. It is an efficient granularity search method for finding a good number of labels per variable.CICYT projects TIC96-0778 and PB98-131
