Framing in choice task

The direction of speed-up - delay effect is reversed in elicitation with choice task in MPL format. The model of intertemporal choice with reference point cannot explain this reversal. I claim that this reversal is due to the structure of elicitation taskintertemporal choice, MPL, choice task, framing.

The Analytical Contribution of Some Eighth-Order Graphs Containing Vacuum Polarization Insertions to the Muon (G-2) in QED

The contributions to the $g-2$ of the muon from some eighth-order (four-loop) graphs containing one-loop and two-loop vacuum polarization insertions have been evaluated analytically in QED perturbation theory, expanding the results in the ratio of the electron to muon mass ${(m_e / m_\mu)}$. Soliton, rational, and periodic solutions for the infinite hierarchy of defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equations

Analysis of short-pulse propagation in positive dispersion media, e.g., in optical fibers and in shallow water, requires assorted high-order derivative terms. We present an infinite-order “dark” hierarchy of equations, starting from the basic defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We present generalized soliton solutions, plane-wave solutions, and periodic solutions of all orders. We find that “even”-order equations in the set affect phase and “stretching factors” in the solutions, while “odd”-order equations affect the velocities. Hence odd-order equation solutions can be real functions, while even-order equation solutions are complex. There are various applications in optics and water waves

Rhino Decline Shock

The Kruger National Park in South Africa is home to the largest population of wild rhinos in the world. But a 2019 census documenting a dramatic decline in the Kruger rhino population in just ten years has shocked rhino conservation organizations. The park last conducted a census of its rhino population in 2010 when it estimated that there were over 10,000 rhinos in the park (mostly the southern white rhino but also including a few hundred southern black rhino). But the latest census estimates there are now only 3,500 white rhinos and 270 black rhinos in the park – a 70% decline in just ten years
