Urban Wheel’s Blind Spot Detection System (BSDS) is a highly accurate electronic driving aid for motor vehicles. The primary objective is to provide customers with a safer driving experience in their current vehicles. Atlas geodemográfico computarizado de la comuna de Santiago
El presente trabajo constituye un primer avance del Proyecto Atlas Geodemográfico Computarizado del Area Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile, tema de investigación que la autora realiza bajo el auspicio de la Dirección de InvestigacionesCientíficas y Tecnológicas de esta Universidad. Esta se refiere solamente al Atlas Geodemográfico de la Comuna de Santiago, a nivel distrital, a escala 1:32.500 aproximadamente. Consta de 10 cartas geodemográficas con variables entregadas por el In stituto Nacional de Estadisticas, más una carta base con la división distrital de la comuna. El software utilizado es CORMAP, programa diseñado para confeccionar mapas coropléticos a través de un pequeño computador y de un impresor de linea. La aplicación de las Técnicas Computacionales en Cartografía y Geografía, permiten a los investigadores de estas disciplinas contar con elementos de análisis rápidos y dinámicos, de gran utilidad para la investigación científica y tecnológica del país
The DELTA MONSTER: An RPV designed to investigate the aerodynamics of a delta wing platform
The mission requirements for the performance of aerodynamic tests on a delta wind planform posed some problems, these include aerodynamic interference; structural support; data acquisition and transmission instrumentation; aircraft stability and control; and propulsion implementation. To eliminate the problems of wall interference, free stream turbulence, and the difficulty of achieving dynamic similarity between the test and actual flight aircraft that are associated with aerodynamic testing in wind tunnels, the concept of the remotely piloted vehicle which can perform a basic aerodynamic study on a delta wing was the main objective for the Green Mission - the Delta Monster. The basic aerodynamic studies were performed on a delta wing with a sweep angle greater than 45 degrees. These tests were performed at various angles of attack and Reynolds numbers. The delta wing was instrumented to determine the primary leading edge vortex formation and location, using pressure measurements and/or flow visualization. Universal properties of Kaluza-Klein gravitons
Vacua of different gaugings of D = 4 N = 8 supergravity that preserve the same supersymmetries and bosonic symmetry tend to exhibit the same universal mass spectrum within their respective supergravities. For AdS4 vacua in gauged supergravities that arise upon consistent truncation of string/M-theory, we show that this universality is lost at higher Kaluza-Klein levels. However, universality is still maintained in a milder form, at least in the graviton sector: certain sums over a finite number of states remain universal. Further, we derive a mass matrix for Kaluza-Klein gravitons which is valid for all the AdS4 vacua in string/M-theory that uplift from the gaugings of D = 4 N = 8 supergravity that we consider.
